Cricky Bubbaz, I am glad you and your ds & baby are ok.

Had a busy day yesterday as was ds1's 7th birthday, so we went out for the day to the reaceway to watch banger racing and destruction derby, lol! Typical boyish thing to do! Weather held up but was very, very windy. Have been having stabbing abdo pain (to the left, in line with navel) since Saturday, but was definately much worse last night after my busy day. Midwife came around to check all is well, thinks it is most likely muscular, either growing/stretching pains or pulled somehow. Baby sounds good which is the main thing. I feel like I am in a constant state of fear, roll on October I say!

bubbaz what a crap time youve been having, glad you and DS and your bean are all fine!

Ive had nice weekend with DH, finally managed to get an outfit for this forthcoming wedding. had to get size 14 dress normally a 10!!

Our friends came to see us and told us that apparently there is a rift between me, DH and my SIL and her husband???!!! the friends came to tell us they were staying neutral but DH and I dont know anything about it. i really do have dicks as inlaws! i was fuming about it. apparently when my baby is born she is planning on another straight away which our friends find competitive and they would like to stay out of it if we dont mind!!!!

WTF??? We havent been out since December!!! we havent seen anyone, we got married came back off honeymoon, got pregnant and then ive been sick. How have i got involved in this shite by staying at home with my head down the toilet??? anyone else got nutters are inlaws???

im off to see my friend who's had a baby today which im really looking forward to. i really look at birth and babies differently now im pregnant. i have much more apprciation for the trauma ypu go through to get them here. so im off for a lovely cuddle.

twinklingfairy · 27/05/2008 17:47

I am confused doctorswife what do they think is competative?
Who is creating the rift, our inlaws or the friends who find it competitive?
I could understand if you had become pregnant after they stared trying first or something but I am v confused??
Or is it cos they want to have their second before you have your second?

Bubbaz what an awful, scary experience. So glad you are all well. Stoopid boy racers!

juanitad · 27/05/2008 18:09

Hi all!

Have been away for the last few days - took 40 kids on a school trip to Spain, it was exhausting! Thankfully though they were really well behaved nad the trip was a success. It was nice to give them back to their parents though! I can cope with the idea of being responsible for 1 child, but being responsible for 40 of them is hard work!

I see it's been a busy thread since I've been away! Haven't had time to read back over what I've missed, so will try and catch up over the next few days. Hope everyone is well and that the second trimester is bringing the glow I've heard so much about!! Hope everyone's MS has well and truly gone!

tegan · 27/05/2008 18:22

Evening all

Just a quicky (oh no that was 14 weeks ago) went to see mw today for check and apparently baby is lieing just under my belly button and has a heart rate of 160.

Both dd's had heart rates of 140 so could we be having a boy this time???

twinklingfairy · 27/05/2008 18:51

haha tegan

Get thee to the prediction thread and pop that on for future giggles.

lackaDAISYcal · 27/05/2008 19:19

I thought it was less than 140 for a boy and 140+ for a girl.

Can't remember what DDs or DSs was though so not sure about testing the theory. My MW said that in her experience it's pretty accurate in spite of it being and old (mid)wives tale

lackaDAISYcal · 27/05/2008 19:21

does anyone on No 2 or 3 or more wish they had taken a copy of their notes before the hospital whisked them away never to be seen again? I have DSs red book and like comparing the two of them...it would be good to do the same thing with pregnancies.

LolaBella · 27/05/2008 19:26

Evening all
Bubbaz what a horrid day - i hope your DH was not too annoyed with you, is the car worth saving?
Juanitad i know what school trips are like - we took 80 to New York in Feb and was great but very, very tiring. Have you got the rest of the week off now then as it is half term for us?
How lovely Tegan hearing the HB there is some old wives tales about faster and slower HB but i'm not sure which way aroung it is.

Well i think i'm pretty sure i'm feeling regular movements now - it feels like a little fish flipping over with the occassional 'popping' feeling which i think might be a little boot. Very bizzare i have to say but reassuring at the same time

ceebee74 · 27/05/2008 19:53

Bubbaz - what an awful awful start to your day. Glad you and DS and baby are all ok which is the main thing - the cr can be fixed/replaced! I hope the paramedics were good to you as, bearing in mind where you live, I may well have been responsible for employing them

Tegan - it is definitely slower for a boy as my friend, who has recently had a girl, was told by her mw that the baby had a slow heartbeat so it was either going to be a boy or a very laidback girl - it was the latter as she is 3 weeks old and all she does is sleep

Am really looking forward to Thursday - am going to the Trafford Centre with my friend on a maternity wear hunt! My local town is absolutely rubbish with no maternity wear to be found so it seemed like a good excuse to go for a day out

Hope everyone else is well and starting to glow - am looking forward to the Apprentice tonight!

x

bubbaz · 27/05/2008 20:01

Drswife I would just enjoy your pregnancy and let them say what they want unless of course your plan is to be pregnant immediately which I'm guessing it isn't???
Families are great!
Lolabella DH has been great but keeps reminding me that we can't afford a new car. I would ike to keep the one we have its an old 3 series BMW and it is built like a tank and makes me feel so safe with DS in the car and although its done 130K it has not given us any hassle in 3 years but its not worth much so could easily be written off!
I'm def going to take note of the HB when the MW takes it next - could be interesting!!
I have had some good news also today My neice is pregnant - Due Oct and she is having a girl!
Hope everyone is OK x

bubbaz · 27/05/2008 20:02

Ceebee the paramedics were fantastic!!

ceebee74 · 27/05/2008 20:26

Bubbaz - glad they were fantastic - means I am doing my job properly

toolly · 27/05/2008 20:32

Bubbaz, glad to hear you're OK

twinklingfairy · 27/05/2008 20:53

I wouldn't say that an old 3 series BMW is worth nothing, to my DH, Bubbaz. He is a huuuge fan, they are all he has driven since he turned 18 or so.
He reckons ours in now at the point where it is beginning to increase in value and he knows his stuff.

What kind is yours, ie what size engine. Ours is a 325 Sport touring.

You do feel safe in them, don't you?
Although they now fall slightly below the standard of some modern cars.

Can't see us ever driving anthing else.

Ooh I like this old wives tale about slow versus fast heartbeats. I will defo be paying more attention when I get to hear mine. Not for ages though, way off on 10th June

dozymare · 27/05/2008 21:00

bubbaz what a 'mare you are having! Glad you are all ok and little bubba is well protected. Gosh, what a shock though.

I went to Chessington today - hell on earth and going to bed now as bloody shattered!

MerryMarigold · 27/05/2008 21:05

drswife had to laugh - we have the same in-laws! dh and his bro are competitive (18 months difference in age!) and it seems to have rubbed off on my sil too. i couldn't give a monkeys. we had a baby 'first', and they've just had one. i am grateful they had a girl and we have a boy though, i couldn't have stood the comparisons and am hoping they will be a bit less...anyway, when found out expecting triplets, we visited the next weekend and she didn't even congratulate me! not sure if she was just busy with having people over, but it seemed a bit weird tbh. started wondering what she was thinking esp. when caught her chatting to an aunt about it (aunt was 'reassuring' her that it's going to be a hideous nightmare for me for the first 2 years!). my family is so not gossipy, or competitive, and i find it really hard and odd, just TRY and stay out of it tbh although it still hurts a bit that our relationship is not good. makes me appreciate my family, and my friends though!!!

bubbaz - so glad all is ok

didn't know the heartbeat thing. go with your dreams! i had a dream at about 18 weeks that it was a BOY, it was extremely vivid, and he was. and just like the baby in the dream too.

lackaDAISYcal · 27/05/2008 22:01

I can't believe all the insensitive/competitive in-laws. and am deeply MM that your SIL didn't even mention the fact that you are having triplets. I loved your post on that SAHM thread yesterday. How I missed that one I don't know.....I'm assuming that you won't be putting the triplets in f/t childcare at 1 and going back to work......mind you, by that time, you might be glad of the rest

Lolis · 28/05/2008 08:20

Hi ladies!

I've been too busy and exhausted to visit recently....I've missed many adventures I'm sure!

Is the "blooming" stage actually real in any way? I believe it's a conspiracy theory created by the Government to make women have babies. I am many things (fat all over, tired, constantly ravenous, itchy and dry skin, unable to sleep comfortably) but certainly not blooming! I love it when people say "you're blooming" and I think, "You're so wrong, and what does that mean anyway?"

Oh well....hope everyone's well and "blooming"!

bubbaz · 28/05/2008 08:22

Twinkling I LOVE my car I'm the car nut in our family DH couldn't care less. We have a 1995 318i SE with a full m-tec body kit its in excellent condition despite having done 130K and I really do think it would run forever. The only reason I would want to be rid is if we changed it for a touring as the boots not good on the saloon - Its big ut the hole to put things through is not . You and your DH have taste! .
Thanks for all the support yesterday I was in a bit of shock.
Merrymarigold you enjoy your babies and try not to let your fanily bother you - At least you hav a good one on your side .
Hope everyone is well I am havng the day off cause the car is being taken away this morning and DS has a bad cough. ITs raining here for the first time in 4 weeks so we will be having an inside day. Hope everone else has a good day.x

Oblomov · 28/05/2008 08:23

Welcome back Hanaflower.
Bubbaz, so sorry to hear about your car crash. And laughing at your ds and his nee naw though

Oblomov · 28/05/2008 08:26

Lolis, my skin is very itchy, particularly on my boobs and the back, where my bra strap goes. Driving me nutty. Maybe I should change washing powders ?
I know there is something serious, can't remember name, where pregnant ladies get itchy skin. I don't think I have that. I think it is just itchy. Dh keeps telling me to stop, which makes it worse.

Well, am 18 weeks today and the only part of me that is really blooming is my nails, which for the first time since my last pregnancy are long and strong! I have terrible acne, the peach fuzziness has started already (I have dark hair, pale skin & freckles.....just imagine my sideburns), My hair is still lank, I itch, my skin is dry, I am more tired now than the 1st trimester and the list goes on and on . Still, I was determined to make the most of my pregnancy, so I am not complaining too loudly as I know I will miss it in the near future as this is my last baby and I will look back on this time with rose tinted glasses and imagine it was perfect, lol!
