Suiledon glad you had such a great day seeing your baby!

DM have a great weekend!

ceebee74 · 07/06/2008 10:59

Suiledonn - so glad the scan went well - must be such a relief for you

Does anyone else feel like they have been pg FOREVER? I do - am only 15+3 and time is dragging so much this time round (don't remember it being like this with DS).

Just been to aerobics - afterwards, one of my midwives was in the gym so had to avoid her so she wouldn't see how sweaty I was and start lecturing me on taking it easy

Have a good weekend everyone.

x

Yorky · 07/06/2008 19:25

Aerobics ceebee! I need to sit down just thinking about it! never had the coordination anyway! I so know what you mean about the pg dragging - can't believe I'm only 16wks tomorrow
DB and SIL stopped at ours last night, their first is due July 19 and shes huge, I wasn't that big the week before DS arrived!
Spent the afternoon at a 1st birthday - never my favourite, noisy kids and a room full of other peoples family, but I shouldn't be mean
DS didn't have a first party as we'd just moved and he didn't have any friends, and it looks fairly likely that I can use the same excuse next year as well! [bad mummy emoticon!]

PInkyminkyohnooo · 07/06/2008 20:37

ceebee yes I certainly do! Though I did take last year off!

twinklingfairy · 07/06/2008 23:38

I feel like it has been ages too. I am about 15+2.
I have a scan on Tuesday and then MW appointment on Thursday, which will both be nice to remind me I am not just getting fat.
I don't think I have felt much movement either. Once or twice I have thought I had, but I now think I must have been mistaken, it is so hard to tell and you would think I would know, it being my second, but I feel just as clueless as the first time round!
But at least I am not feeling as sick. Touch wood. It has been a week and a day since my last really bad bout and I am trying to take it easy. It is hard when you feel good, after feeling so bad for so long, not to take advantage and clean the house from top to bottom but I was unable to eat a thing for 24hrs after I did, so I have learnt a hard lesson.
So sorry for you guys that are still feeling rough. I am not counting my chickens though and expect to re-join you in good time.
Such is the joy of pregnancy.

Isn't it just mad that some of you are nearly halfway there!!??

vbab78 · 08/06/2008 12:42

Me and DH felt baby move last night. I felt a couple of days ago what I thought was a kick but dismissed it but now realise it was baby.

I had my hand rested really low on my belly and felt it just a couple of times then DH got it a couple of times. Nothing since.

Must admit baby seems to be still very low down. I know this is probably normal but I had it in my head that baby would have moved up "to the penthouse" as I call I bump.

Got detailed 19 week scan (nearly 20 week ) on Friday.

Just finished decorating our bedroom for today. Yes me and bump are up a ladder! So very sore and tired. Typically now I am pregnant me and DH have decided to get our 3 bedrooms all plastered and re-decorated before baby arrives and maybe even our living room also if we have the time and energy left!

Going to have some lunch and get DS from my mum's now. Bye for now.

barbareebaa · 08/06/2008 14:53

hello there,

Wondered if I could join this thread

Am nearly 18 weeks, due on the 11th November with my first lo.

Have been feeling movement for about a week now - sooo exciting Yesterday I had my hand on my lower belly and I felt a kick from the outside (woohoo!!)

barbs

LolaBella · 08/06/2008 17:21

Hi barbareebaa and welcome to our thread
Feeling movement is so lovely - i'v been feeling it for a couple of weeks now but i have to admit a little strange too. I can sometimes feel it fom the outside but everytime dp puts his hand there - nothing - i think somebody is playing games with us already

vbab i know what you mean about feeling the movement so low down, it suprised me too. You must have so much energy to do all that decorating
Hope everybody is enjoying the gorgeous sunshine x

barbareebaa · 08/06/2008 17:45

Thanks for the welcome Lolabella

Oblomov · 08/06/2008 18:11

Welcome Barb
No movements here. But I am very very bad at recognising them.
I am positively blooming and everyone keeps telling me how fantastic I look.
Morning sickness has returned. I have only had it very minor I mean I am nasueaus as soon as I get up, I keep gagging, but nothing comes. Is that TMI ? I know it is very minor compared to what others on the thread are having, its just I was shocked that it has returned whne I am almost 17 weeks pregnant.

Hi Ladies

Hope your all having a lovely weekend in this sunshine.

Not much news from me Bump still growing, not all that hungry but put that down to heat, I am making sure I am drinking plenty - Hope you all are to!!

DH was at work yesterday and to surprise him I took the bed apart and cleared out the spare room in preparation for turning it into the nursery, also saw my neighbour who's little boy is a year old and she said she has loads of bits we can borrow, after buying it all for DD and then giving it all away I may take her up on the offer!

Found painting my nails trickier than normal as felt like I was squashing the baby!!

Welcome Barbarebaa.

X

ceebee74 · 08/06/2008 21:52

Have put a photo of my bump at 15+3 on my profile - please give me some reassurance that it isn't that big?? Am very paranoid about it as you all seem to have small, neat bumps

MerryMarigold · 08/06/2008 22:20

ceebee, bump looks small and neat to me, I think I was bigger than that with my first. Certainly a lot bigger this time (I am 17+5).

Welcome barbareeba. Your EDD is the same as one of mine. (I've been told 11th and 13th, but 11th matches the first day of last period, a Tuesday, so am assuming that is the correct date). I'll probably be a bit early though as twins, may carry to 38wks if lucky.

Oooh vbab, your 20 wk scan so soon. So cool.

Had a lovely sunny day today. Ds played with hose and helped my transplant tomato plants so covered in compost. Got quite filthy! We got a carpet on our stairs and landing after 2.7 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It feels like living in a palace. Needless to say no shoes upstairs anymore.

Pinkali37 · 09/06/2008 08:54

Morning All,

Ceebee, your bump looks like mine so don't worry, plus this isn't your first so it's supposed to be a little bigger earlier (if that makes sense?).

Suildon - YIPPEE... am so pleased for you that your scan was successful and reassured you. I used to wonder who's video they had put on the screen cos surely I couldn't be lucky enough to have a baby growing inside me. I'm only just coming to terms with the fact that I am

I have a face full of spots too!!! Well not a face full but there are enough to make me I'm on tablets for them anyway and I thought pregnancy made you look good? How wrong was I. My sister has lovely skin but mine just keeps wanting to break out into mountains. The kind that you just get rid of one in a certain space and then another one starts 1mm away from it!! I have decided that once I have finished breast feeding I will go on Roacatin (sp?) to get rid of them once and for all!!!

Satruday, went test driving prams. Have decided finally on the Quinny Buzz 4. None of them have been designed by women i decided as they all seemed slightly awkward to put down. I liked the silver cross but the car seat was sooooooo heavy (and that was without a baby in it).

Sorry for long post. xx

LolaBella · 09/06/2008 09:52

Ceebee your bump is a lovely size.

I seem to have sprouted over the last week and have a def bump now although still quite small. I'm 19 + 5 today and have my 20 week scan on Thurs! Can't wait to find out the sex.

Pinki i have got a silver Cross pram almost brand new off my sister and although i love the pram the car seat is a bit of a mare like you said. Did you buy the Quinny then?

Pinkali37 · 09/06/2008 10:26

Lolabella, didn't buy it yet as my dad is buying it for us and he needs to give me the cash. I feel a bit guilty cos the quinny is twice the price at nearly £650 but as my mum says it the car I never got when I was 17 (my dad is loaded but i have a wicked step mother who is totally jealous of my sister and I and stops him spending any money on us - it could cause divorce, which in my eyes isn't a bad thing )

Heartmum2Jamie · 09/06/2008 10:48

Ceebee, I think you look fine, nice tidy bump for 15+3.

I am trying to keep up with everyone but I seem to have a 1 track mind this week and it keeps going "scan on Thursday, scan on Thursday, scan on Thursday"!! LOL! I am sooo excited to see baby again and find out if I need to buying for a girl or boy (I need new newborn clothes regardless as got rid of them all after ds2. The knowledge of my scan this week is taking over from everything else, including turning 30 on Friday, lol! Not such a bad thing I guess

OP posts:
Dozymare · 09/06/2008 10:58

Heartmum you have 2 boys already if I remember correctly??!! Do you have an inkling? are you mega excited???!!!

ceebee I think your bump in lovely and neat as well!!

Silvercross - are we talking big old fashioned silver cross prams or the buggies??!!

DM x

PInkyminkyohnooo · 09/06/2008 11:08

Hi all, ceebee you have a lovely bump! They just look big when you look down at them!!
Very exciting al these 20 week scans coming up.

Very jealous of you turning 30, heartmum, I feel so old!

Pinkali- lol at you with the expensive pram- I felt a bit like that when my mum bought us the bugaboo, but my Dad is soo stingy I thought it was quite funny, too!

It also resold for a very good price, which is worth considering when you have to change it for a double next year lol

Someone was talking earlier about the baby feeling much lower down this time- remember that very clearly with DD, I can only think they can create more space once you've been pregnant before. I also got a big bump quite quickly with DD but it didn't grow to mammouth proportions like with DS!

Oh well, still being sick, but what can you do?

Pinkali37 · 09/06/2008 11:09

The buggy ones. Blimey those big old fashioned ones would be very heavy and somewhat difficult to get into the boot of the car lol. The other thing that put me off the silver cross was the fact that everything goes on top of each other, so the car seat clips on top of the buggy bit (if that makes sense)

PInkyminkyohnooo · 09/06/2008 11:13

That's what I liked about the frog, the carrycot came off the chassis to put the car seat on, so it didn't get really bulky.

Heartmum2Jamie · 09/06/2008 11:14

Dozy, I do have 2 boys already, and I honestly do not have an inkling this time, although I guessed boy as it is all I know. In our little family of 4 (as it is right now) we are tied with myself and ds2 thinking boy and dh & ds1 thinking girl. I am beyond excited, I can't wait to "meet" this little person properly, hopefully find out the flavour and try and give him/her a name and start building an even better bond (not that I am not bonded with this baby, if you know what I mean). I am excited for everyone really as I know there are a couple of "big" scans this week and over the next few weeks everyone will get a chance to see thier baby. Exciting times for us as a board!

OP posts:
PInkyminkyohnooo · 09/06/2008 11:17

Heartmum, I know exactly what you mean- I like to find out as much as I can. I know the stats say you might well have another boy, which would be fab, but my friend with two girls has just had a baby boy, perhaps a change would be nice, too.
