Vbab - how awful with you but glad that it wasn't anything too serious.

Yorky - out of interest, what did the website say about sweet/savoury cravings? With DS, I just wanted Haribo sweets all the time but with this one, I need savoury stuff so does that fit in with this one being a girl?

Juanitad/Crici - an about your MW appt - mine is not till a week on Monday and that will be the first time I have heard the heartbeat - can't wait! I am just hoping that DH is working from home that day as the thought of taking super-fidgety DS with me is bringing me out in a cold sweat! This clinic is always on a Monday which is my day off - they do other ones later in the week so I am going to ask if I can transfer to one of the other clinics as I cannot take DS with me!! On some occasions when I was pg with DS, I had to wait upto an hour - there is no way I could do that with DS now!! Plus, why should I now benefit and get some time off work

MerryMarigold · 05/06/2008 10:56

vbab - am glad he is getting better. when they are lifeless it is so scary and it must've been murder to leave him (even if with dh), you just want to hold them all day. ds hasn't been like that since he was about 1.5 and had a bad bug. hope he avoids it, he only eats 2 meals a day anyway (on good days) so he really can't afford to lose any weight.

ceebee74 - ds quite enjoys going to clinic, lots of other kids to play with! The waiting bit isn't too bad for him. The appointment bit is harder. A bag of hoola hoops and a pot of blueberries did the trick last time and kept him quiet for 10 mins which is actually all it took!

suiledonn · 05/06/2008 11:33

PINKYMINKY Sorry to hear you are still being sick. That was me last time round. I still have some nausea and that horrible taste in my mouth but once I stick to eating every 2 hours and not overdoing it then I don't throw up. Hope yours will improve soon.

I have my first ante-natal clinic appointment tomorrow and will have a scan. Dh is coming with me and MIL is looking after dd. I am looking forward to it and dreading it in equal measure. I have this nagging feeling that something is not right but maybe that is because I was so sick at the start. Also I have no bump at all yet. Stomach still feels very soft. On the other hand I think I have been feeling some movement the last few nights. I am driving myself crazy!!!!

ChocOrange05 · 05/06/2008 11:45

Ceebee here is a website I have just found about predicting the gender. I will take it later and let you know what it says for me!

www.justmommies.com/quizzes/gender_prediction_quiz.php

ceebee74 · 05/06/2008 11:51

Damn that website is on our 'banned' list at work which means I will have to wait until I get home - I am dying to know what it predicts

ChocOrange05 · 05/06/2008 11:52

Mine says boy!

MerryMarigold · 05/06/2008 11:56

well it told me a 75% chance of a boy! hopefully there is a girl as well..though I am pretty convinced there is at least one boy and I'm not really convinced at all on the girls, just hoping!

ChocOrange05 · 05/06/2008 11:56

Suiledon I think its normal to worry before every appointment but try not to worry too much!! I hope it goes well for you.

Ceebee do you have my e-mail address? If so send me an e-mail and I will send you this excel sheet that I created (sad I know) which takes all the folklore together and gives you a positive or negative result as to whether its a boy or girl. Anyone who wants it please e-mail me!

ChocOrange05 · 05/06/2008 11:59

BTW - to clarify, I am a banker and work with excel all the time and love spreadsheets for any occasion - weddings, babies, finances etc etc etc. I know I'm sad, DH tells me all the time but we all have our quirks!!

ChocOrange05 · 05/06/2008 12:03

Merry I only got a 50% chance. I just realised that's actually not a prediction at all is it!!

If I were pregnant with twins I think one of each would be nice - what do you want??

ceebee74 · 05/06/2008 12:33

Chocorange - that would be great but I don't have your e-mail address - can you send your e-mail address to me via my Facebook account so it isn't in the public arena?

Hi all, yes Crici im planning a homebirth and its my first. i get more and more positive that its what i want every day, reading midwifery books and watching home birth diaries. i just think yep, i want the most natural experience i can without me being a lentil weaver

just did that gender predictor and it says girl for me, thats what i feel. Last night i had insomnia and left DH snoring in bed to get up and read. on the way back upstairs i had pains in my pelvis and jokingly said "dont you start now little girl!" At that exact moment DH talked in his sleep and i heard him say "shhhh i have an ickle tiny boy!"

now im trying to see if im getting boy vibes as in waking time DH says he wants a girl!!!!!!

Oblomov · 05/06/2008 13:39

I think the predictor is nonsense.
It says that I am 68% for a girl.
But, all the questions were exactly the same for ds - i.e I was carrying high with him, I craved sour foods etc, my boobs went massive.
Everything is the same for me this pregnnacy as it was the last, in that sense.

Oblomov · 05/06/2008 13:41

Suiledon, sorry you fel something s wrong. I still feel that too, and am desperate for my 20 week scan. Something just feels 'not right'.
Lets hope all is well for us both.

Tinkerisdead · 05/06/2008 13:57

okay just done wedding ring thing and thats girl too. just makes me think boy more now!

Oblomov, what doesnt feel right?

vbab78 · 05/06/2008 14:07

Thanks for all your kind messages about DS.

I've done the baby sec predictor which said 67% chance of a boy. Another one!! To be honest I sort of guessed some answers to questions because they didn't apply to me. For example I haven't had any cravings yet and I don't know the baby's heart rate. I only had 1 craving with DS for just the once which was curry sauce and chips. Because it was late at night my DH ended up getting me smiley potato faces and curry sauce powder which meant I ended up with lumpy curry. Makes me laugh when i think back.

vbab78 · 05/06/2008 14:13

For the 1st time I dreamt of baby the other night, never did with DS. I dreamt it was after having baby and my DH and DS where in the room. The nurse was filling out a form and said "You decided on ... for baby's name didn't you?" I responded with not decided yet.

The name was a boy's name and the name was 1 me and DH considered but discounted. We really like the name which is a traditional type of name and is therefore used a lot. But we want something a little less likely to be used a lot if that makes any sense? The thing is we have really been struggling with names for both sexes then I had this dream.

Was it a premonition or some sort of sign?

PInkyminkyohnooo · 05/06/2008 14:15

Suiledon, thankyou. It's not as bad as the last two pregnancies - I'm not on medication or anything, but I'm getting a bit fed up!

I had the exact same worries as you a few weeks back, I was feeling very down, but my baby is wriggling around a lot now, I think you just need to try not to think too much about it for a few weeks- I started doing lot's of Jobs That Needed Doing around the house and it really helped, as well as talking to some of the lovely people on here!

DM FB tells me you commented on my photo but it doesn't show up?

Ceebe74 are we the only ones from the other side of the pennines on here? WE could do a very mini meet up!

I too think the bump shape thing is a bit suspect- I think the shape of your bump has more to do with the shape of your body, and later the lie of the baby really. But I always say that any prediciton has a 50/50 chance of being correct! It passes the time, too

vbab78 · 05/06/2008 14:16

suiledonn & Oblomov - I'm sure everything will be fine. I was really worried about my first scan after my miscarriage and everything but everything seemed fine and I just started to cry from relief. Thinking of you both.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 05/06/2008 14:17

Oblomov I was convinced for some reason that my 12 week scan would show no baby- it's very strange, I never felt like this when pregnant before. I hope you feel reassured soon.

vbab78 · 05/06/2008 14:19

PInkyminkyohnooo that's exactly what i felt that why i started crying with relief at seeing baby.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 05/06/2008 14:25

Pregnancy does strange things to rational minds, sometimes I think, though if you've had a miscarriage it is totally understandable to feel that way.
My baby was asleep on the scan and I had to ask the sonographer to show me the heart beating but it still didn't feel right. I have more of a bump now and I do feel the baby move so I feel a bit better about it, but I don't think I'll feel 100% secure until I have my 20 week scan.

vbab78 · 05/06/2008 14:31

Not felt baby move yet. Well I don't think I have ... on occasion I get 1 odd feeling and think is that it? I was 20wks with DS before me and DH felt him.
