Hi all,and hello to new people!
THank goodness the appointment has finally come through, Heartmum! Suiledonn glad you are feeling so much better. I am still being sick, unfortunately.

DM could you invite me on the FB thingy, too?
Hope everyone is having a good day.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 03/06/2008 14:50

Pinkali, Pinkyminky has recently been launching himself out of DD's cot in the moring. Every morning, we can hear her shout very loudly pinkyminkyohnooo!

Pinkali37 · 03/06/2008 15:19

Agghhhh...

Ooh while I remember I checked what my blood pressure has been and; at 8 wks 110/70 and 10 + 5 85/65 (felt awful) and at 16 wks 100/60. Hope that helps who ever was asking about it.

Oblomov · 03/06/2008 15:42

Welcome to Zonedout, Vbab, Tostaky & Flaneuse - goodness, so many newbies, all at once - feels like adges since anyone has joined - ladies this thread is very fast moving, jump on and enjoy the ride.

Heartmum, I love the new forest. Hope the weather holds out for yuo. If it does, you will have a fab time. We hada good time in Hayling Island the other week, mainly becasue the weather wqas fab. Doesn't mean I am not jealous of my friend who told me today she is off to Ibiza with her two little ones - Dh, ds and I love going to Ibiza.

Chocorange, I will let you off your boastfullness, just this once [wink}, only becasue I feel sorry for you thta ypou are not bale to go to |India. But no more boasting about going off on joliies, do you hear me !!

Pinkali, Dozy and I had a great time comparing bumps. I hope she won't mind me saying this, but we are very simialr size, bumps wise. And I feel HUGE. Plus I think it makes a big difference that this is her 3rd baby, and this is my second.
We were having a little giggle of all the lovely bumps that have been posted by the first timers, how taught and trim they were -Dozy and I were laughing that we have NEVER had a stomach that flat, not for as long as we can remmeber - ha ha.

I am tempted to post a picture of my bump, to shock you all as to how very big it is.

Hi to all the newbies - welcome and stick around

HM2J - at last the appointment is sorted for you and you may be able to relax just a little now!

Oblomov - I feel exactly the same when people tell me they are going to Cyprus for a holiday - anywhere else, I am not really that jealous but as soon as anyone says Cyprus I am Tis my favourite place ever and I would LOVE a holiday there right now!

Pinkali - a tip for writing long posts/remembering what people say that someone else told me - open up a Word document but have it small at the side of the screen - that way you can easily flick between the internet and the Word document - type your post into the Word document as you go along and then just copy and paste it into the box when finished - it really does work.

At least 4 people have commented on the size of my bump today at work - they have all said how much it has suddenly appeared over the weekend - I am not even 15 weeks yet I am gonna be huge aren't I??

Hi to everyone else

x

Pinkali37 · 03/06/2008 16:00

Ob going on post a picture. I need to see.

Has anyone got pain around their pubic bone when the stand up and start walking? Mine hurts. In addition my lower back is hurting already. Yikes 4 months in and i'm falling apart!!

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 16:15

afternoon all.

hi to Vbab, Flaneuse, Zonedout and Tostaky .....like our bumps this thread just grows and grows

I'm actually getting quite concerned about how busy the maternity unit will be when bub is due if this thread is any reflection on RL. Apparently births in Leeds have gone up by 15% in the last year, but no increase in maternity services . The two local units regularly close their doors as they are full

heartmum, great news about the scan date, but as you say hopefully next weeks scan will show there is nothing of particular concern and you can at least relax on your holidays a bit.

We got our holiday confirmation through this morning; nowhere exotic, only Staithes on the East coast of Yorkshire for a week. Tis a lovely quiet fishing village with limited car access and a nice beach with fossils and harbour for crab fishing. We went there last year and had such a fab time. DS loved crab fishing and we got a great week weatherwise. This time we are in a bigger cottage which has its own enclosed outside space (very rare in Staithes as the houses are practically carved out of the cliff). Can't wait

I forget everything I've read as well, but have the settings set up as MN classic so it's all on one page and I scroll up and down to refer to previous posts when writing mine. this pregnancy brain syndrome definately gets worse with subsequent pregnancies, or maybe that's just because I'm not working this time around?

Oblomov · 03/06/2008 16:16

oh god, a dare Hana.
And now Pink.
I wish I hadn't said it now.
I might pluck up courage later - remember I am not a skinny !!!!!

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 16:17

pinkali, that sounds like it could be the start of SPD (when your pubic bone starts to separate). Mention it your MW and see if you can get a referral to an AN physio for some exercises.

ChocOrange05 · 03/06/2008 16:18

Go on Oblamov show us your bump!! I think mine is huge considering its my first!!

I'm not sure if I just felt my first movement!?! I was on a conference call with clients and felt like a click click click in my tummy - it was very gentle and I didn't think about it till 10 seconds later. Now of course I keep sitting still to see if I can feel anything. Oh and I gave my bump a little prod to see if that would work! [impatient emoticon]!!

I saw a great picture of Angelina Jolie in a mag this week.
Airbrushed ????????
Naaaaaaah.
I am telling you her thighs are more muscely and toned than that picture. Even dh was shocked by the airbrushing.
I might not be able to post a picture until a week next thursday - it will take me that long to airbrush out all my cellulite/rolls of flab/flabby bits etc - ha ha

Oblomov · 03/06/2008 16:44

I am quite pleased that my bump is very high. It is starting to be a 'shelf' for my enormous boobs that are trying to head south, more and more every day.

Flaneuse · 03/06/2008 16:49

Thanks for the welcome everyone! It going to be tough ? but fun ? keeping up with the pace of conversation!

HeartMum, as others have said, the New Forest is LOVELY! I grew up in Bournemouth, so it was just down the road. Worth a visit is Burley, a beautiful village, with lots of New Forest ponies wandering around the streets. Also, if you fancy going slightly further afield, head to Sandbanks and catch the ferry over to Swanage/ the Purbecks ? really beautiful and children might enjoy the car ferry over to it, as well as the lovely beaches, etc.

DH and I are going to try to fit in a holiday ? everyone keeps saying we must do it before we have a baby, but I?m not sure how we?re going to fit it in with moving house, etc ? or pay for it, for that matter (we had to go to a wedding in America in April and spent loads - and it wasn't even fun, cos I felt so grim!). May have to go and spend a few days in Ireland with the MIL ? but that?s not the kind of holiday I?m wishing for?

Pinkali ? I have already been suffering with a bad back and a kind of collapsing feeling, like my legs aren?t going to carry my weight, when I?m tired. Have had bad back for a couple of years, but haven?t been able to go to my lovely McTimoney chiropractor since finding out that I that was pregnant. My midwife referred me to a physiotherapist, and I saw them for the first time last week. They?ve given me some exercises, which I have to say seem to be helping a bit so far, and they said that they can sort it out? It does seem to be worth mentioning it to your midwife, and they will swing into action to help!

Dozymare? yes, I am very excited ? that didn?t really come across in my first post, did it? I?m also terrified, but who isn?t?? I?ve always wanted and hoped to have children, but now I can?t quite believe that I?m actually going to be a Mummy ? does anyone else feel like that?

Better stop typing - I knew that once I started I'd find it hard to stop... Sorry!!

chocolategal · 03/06/2008 16:52

pinkali - i am roughly the same stage as you and my bump is definately not as defined as yours! i may post pic when it is!
looking forward to hearing about everyones 20week scans coming up!

will go email bubbaz to join the facebook group.

Pinkali37 · 03/06/2008 16:55

oh no choc - please post your pic. The top of my bump is just me not being able to breath in long term !! Go on.... When are you due?

I have emailed the person (oops pregnancy brain can't remember who it was) about joining the facebook thread so hope they have received my email.

Pinkali37 · 03/06/2008 16:57

Sods law I saw the MW yesterday and it started properly today. Backache aswell!!

chocolategal · 03/06/2008 17:08

pinkali i still have a dent bit that goes in at my belly button then out again whereas yours is hard all over!! lol!

i am due 14th nov so am 16+2 today

Pinkali37 · 03/06/2008 17:22

Choc, I keep calling myself 16 + 5 tday but MW said I was 16 + 2 yesterday. Oh all so confusing.

Oh mine doesn't feel that hard. there is still a good inch of flab before it feels hard. I like the fact though that when I lie on my back it shows still. What an excuse for turning flabby. talking flabby, my legs are awful. they seem to have turned really wobbly when they weren't before. Don't know what to do about it. Need to lose the weight but don't think it is good to diet. Think i may be eating too much now I feel better

zonedout · 03/06/2008 17:29

tostaky and thomasina1, whereabouts in n london are you both? i am in nw london and know of a few good yoga classes near me but may be too far for you guys?

thanks to everyone for the welcome! at pinkali bringing panic and worry!!! i am likely to make a similar contribution!

Hello Ladies we have a problem. I can't invite people to jpin who aren't on my friends list via email if they are already facebook members!! I have requested Cricri as a friend but can't find chocolategal or Pinkali as I don't know what you look like . I will email you back with my details and you can send me a request. I hope this is OK but if anyone wants to join they will need to befriend me Chocorange or Dozymare (I have made you an admin Dozy to invite the bookclub people). I'm sooo confused.
Welcome to all the new people and congrats to everyone who has heard HBs.
Heartmum so pleased you got your appointment through finally.
Am loving all the bump pics

SoExcited · 03/06/2008 17:37

Flaneuse, you wouldn't be in Cambridge by any chance? To all of you who have put up pics, it's very reassuring. I will try to take one and add it. I feel quite big considering it's my first, and people can definitely tell. Also, I've put on about 10-12 lbs and am 16+1, which is a little more than I should have done. I seem to have been eating tonnes, although still cycle to work and walk a lot.

MerryMarigold · 03/06/2008 17:49

Hi to all. Gosh, it's taken me a while to catch up on all the posts.

[boast, boast], I'm going on holiday too! I will be missing a lot of your 20 wk scans as off on the 19th June and back on 3rd. Going to France with parents. Wanted to go to Bulgaria (warmer and very cheap!), but Dad can't fly at the moment, so we are going near-ish to La Rochelle. Can't wait for all the adults to take care of only 1 ds, gonna enjoy it while it lasts.

Oblomov - A prayer for Owen Meaney is one of my favourite books too, I can't tell you the number of times I've read it. More recently, I love A Widow for a Year.

The bumps are looking cool. I will post mine sometime, although not sure how to get pics up here. My belly button popped out at about 10 weeks! Your belly buttons are all looking nice. I know what some of you mean about never looking as slim as some of these pics (well, never since I was 26).
