Oh that's good, another week chalked up without even noticing! I must be getting scanned at 21 weeks then.

Pinkali37 · 03/06/2008 09:01

Morning All,

Welcome newbies...

I have just put my bump pic up. DH took it last night. It has grown so much since being in ireland for the week, think the sun and fresh air did it good.

Good luck to all those MW appointments this week, hoping to hear lots of heartbeats.

I'm going to join the facebook thread so will email the relevant person. xxx

cricri · 03/06/2008 09:17

Hello everybody and welcome to the newcomers!
Not had chance to do much apart from read posts in recent days as we had friends staying with their 10 month-old baby. It gave me an idea of what to expect
I was beginning to think that my bump was quite big compared with some of the others (especially as my friend commented at the weekend that I was quite big already ), but I've been reassured by Pinkali's picture
I've also emailed Bubbaz about joining the FB group now that it's private.
I'm 18+3 today. MW appointment tomorrow and scan on 19 June at 20+5. Can't wait!
A doula came round to see us last week and we got on really well so we've decided to book her.
Hope everybody else is OK.

ChocOrange05 · 03/06/2008 09:54

Morning all.

I just wanted to let you all know about a nice experience I had on the tube this morning. Yes, thats nice experience on the tube!!!

Anyhoo I was on the Northern Line squashed in like a sardine by the door and this random man (who was quite easy on the eye too!) who was also standing and squashed said to me quite loudly and clearly for everyone to hear "would you like a seat"! I actually said no as I was only going 1 stop but how sweet was that! He didn't even have a seat to give me so god knows what he would have done if I had said yes. So I just wanted to assure my fellow public transport users that there are some good 'uns out there.

ChocOrange05 · 03/06/2008 09:55

Oh - also had another dream last night about someone else's baby - this is the third time its happened. Why am I dreaming about other people's babies and not mine?!?!?

suiledonn · 03/06/2008 10:06

Hi everyone, I haven't been on for ages, I don't think I will ever catch up! I took a break for a while because I hadn't been feeling great and all my posts on here were fairly negative. I didn't want to be bringing the mood down. The good news is I am feeling much better - no more throwing up it seems, and my nausea is way better. I have my first scan on Friday and I am really looking forward to it.
So of all you with proper bumps. I still seem to have nothing but flab. I met my sister yesterday and she said I don't look pregnant at all. I think I am feeling movement though (the second time round you would think I would know!). Lots of little flutters when I lie down at night.

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 10:10

morning...my bump is getting bigger, but I am shrinking! I weighed myself this morning for the first time in 3 weeks and I've lost another two pounds (I was expecting to have started putting on by this time). So, that's nearly a stone I've lost since getting pregnant

No dreams here yet; I am sleeping the sleep of the dead at the minute.

and can someone invote me to the FB group as well. the book club lot have my email address so dozy, once you are invited.....

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 10:12

hi suiledonn Glad to have you back with us and that you are feeling much better

tostaky · 03/06/2008 11:43

Hi there, I'm new here?

I'm due Nov the 12th with my first, I'm in North London and planning to give birth at the Whittington.
Ive spent my entire pay check on maternity clothes (god bless H&M!!) last Saturday and ive got no money left now! Lol
I'm currently looking at yoga for pregnancy classes so if any of you have experience can you tell me if these really help for labour (positionning/breathing)
thanks

ChocOrange05 · 03/06/2008 11:58

Hi Tostaky welcome to the group. Good luck keeping up, this chat goes so fast. You'll be addicted to us soon!

Sorry, going to have a totally selfish post where I talk only about myself......

Guess what???!!!!!

The flippin' OB/fetal medical centre saga finally comes to a close!! Not without a hiccup though. I called Birmingham yesterday, still no referal, so called the OB's secretary back, as she was back from her annual leave and told her to fax it, which she did while I was on the phone. Letter arrived from the fetal medical centre this morning, offering me a scan for 27th June! Sounds great right??? We don't return from our hols until 28th June . Thankfully I could rearrange without too much longer to wait, now have an appt for 1st July (fil's birthday, not sure if that is a good sign or not, lol!) and I will be a day shy of 23 weeks. I've just called dh, but because it is less than 5 weeks from now, his schedule is already full and he can't come with me . I am sure everything will be fine, apart from being a very long day as the appt is at 2.30 and the hospital is further away from me than Birmimgham children's is and I don't even know how to get there, lol! Still, mustn't grumble! I am sure if anything major is wrong it will be picked up at my scan next Thursday as they will be taking a good look at the heart for me, not that I think anything is wrong. Power of positive thinking and all that, lol!

Oh well, I can try and relax for now, lol!

Lovely neat bumps Pinkali and chocorange and much more defined than mine - i'm very jealous

Heartmum so glad you have finally got a date and like you said hopefully any probs might be picked up on Thurs.

Welcome to Tostaky and vbab this is a fab thread, you will soon catch up. Don't forget to add yourself to our separate Nov Stats thread so you can add your due dates and scan dates.

Juanitad i don't think i have ever been that skinny but i'm sure you will start to take shape very soon x

Oblomov · 03/06/2008 12:37

Heartmum, so glad to hear that atleast you have an appt. I have been thinking about you over the last few days.

Good job they haven't been calculating the stress, that all this nonsense causes for mum, becasue then they really should be concerned.

Hope you have a great hol. Where are you off to ?
If it is somewhere nice, then don't tell us , we have had enough of people going off to nice bits of France, Italy etc [jealous emotion]

zonedout · 03/06/2008 12:44

ok, am finally taking the plunge and coming out of the woodwork...

hello nov 08'ers, please may i join? i actually don't feel that new as i have been regularly following this thread quite literally since it started but just felt far too green to post anything until now. so thankyou, i have quietly gained a lot from all of you and sorry for not having been able to give anything back.

i am due 4th nov (although my 12 week scan showed baby to be enormous so may be put forward a week when they re-check at my 20 week scan) and i already have one ds who turned 2 in feb. oh, and i live in london. i have such a large bump already that a lady in a shop yesterday asked how long i had left to go..

hope to try to keep up as much as my toddler will allow!

Hello and welcome to Zonedout, Vbab & Tostaky!!

Oblamov, I am not off anywhere near as nice as Italy, Frace or Barbados (I think that's where Choc said she was going). We are off to stay in a caravan at the edge of the New Forest for a week. We would have loved to go abroad, but with ds2's allergies, we would have had to take a week or 2's worth of food with us just for him. Hopefully next year or the year after, lol! Still, this holiday is cheap, the caravan is owned by the charity my ds2 is registered with. It's just nice to get away from the same 4 walls, plus, I have never been to the New Forest, but hear it is very nice!

zonedout · 03/06/2008 13:09

hello hana and heartmum!

heartmum, i love the new forest. was the fist place dh and i went on holiday and was truly beautiful.

ChocOrange05 · 03/06/2008 13:13

Oblamov sorry I was one of the one's boasting about my holiday but I feel I should explain why... in December I had to cancel a holiday to India as I was working on a really important deal for work and so we rebooked for end of March. About 3 weeks before we were due to go we found out I was pregnant and decided that India wasn't the best country to go to at 8 weeks pregnant so finally, hopefully in 10 days DH and I will be off on a much needed holiday although based on recent experiences I am keeping everything crossed!!

Heartmum I'm glad things seem to be working out for you even though its been a long and painful process. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that all goes well on Thursday!

Welcome to Zonedout!

Dozymare · 03/06/2008 13:21

Morning All!!

Haven't posted for a few days as quite simply have been shattered! Is anyone else dead on their feet by 7pm?????

Welcome to the Newbies - 3 of you in ust a few days - this is a fab thread!!!

Heartmum good to finally nail down an appointment, and as you say, at your scan next week you will get an indication if anything is wrong. I am sure everything will be fine though but understand your worry.

For all of you who have posted bumps - like lacksadaisy I am not going to terrorise you all with mine! Especially as the "virgin" bumps of 1st timers are so lovely and smooth - my bump is huge and covered in stretch marks!!!!

tostaky I have also done yoga through both pregnancies and absolutely loved it as was my weekly sanctuary to focus on the baby and the baby alone - not always easy with 2 DD'S!!

I am going to join the facebook group so will invite the book club ladies to join as well!!!! Is it private still?????

Flaneuse · 03/06/2008 13:52

Hello November ladies!

Please can I come to play too - you lot sound friendly and lovely. I've been lurking for the last couple of weeks and have been following your stories with fascination and sometimes crossed fingers, enjoying the ups and commiserating with the down days. There seems to be a bit of an influx of newcomers, so I thought I would crawl out of the woodwork too...

I'm 34 and expecting my first baby on 23rd November (15+2 today). All seems to be going well so far with the pregnancy, apart from much faster weight gain than I'd hoped for... Still, at least the sickness has stopped.

DH and I live in East Anglia and I work for a well known illness research charity.

ChocOrange05 · 03/06/2008 13:52

DM can you come on Sat??

thomasina1 · 03/06/2008 14:13

Tostaky, I am in N London too so if you find any yoga classes please let me know.

I had my 16 wk appt this morning and heard the heartbeat - wow, amazing! I'm feeling ressured as I've got shared care between the hospital and my GP and was a bit concerned about how it was going to work. But I am actually pleased as my GP is really nice and really seems to know her stuff, plus I've seen her in the past so I know her and she knows me. So I will probably actually get more continuity this way.

Welcome to all you newcomers by the way!

Dozymare · 03/06/2008 14:22

chocorange I think probably not as have got a party Saturday night and will be shattered as currently am dead on my feet...will let you know friday though if that is OK???

Another newbie - welcome Flaneuse are you very excited??! Congratulations

Hi to Zonedoubt, Vbab, Tostaky and Flaneuse.. Welcome. Everyone on here is so lovely and we all bring different knowledge with us and provide so much support to one another. I bring panic and worry !!!

I apologise now if I start spelling your names incorrectly or shortening them but pregnancy has done something to my brain. laso I am now having to read this thread and have a pen and paper to hand so i can note down who said what!!

Heartmum - I love the New Forest. There is so much to do and it is so beautiful, hope you have a fab time and can relax away from all the crap you've had recently I'm pleased you have your appointment, make sure you let us all know how you get on, and wishing you all the luck in the world xx

Hi Dozy, how's that bump coming along then? I was so shocked when I discovered how high up Tarquin was. My bump has definitely grown in the last week so I am please because I finally look pregnant and not just fat.

Pinkyminky - I think i've missed something, have you changed your name?????
