Morning All,

LouiseSJ - Hello and welcome. You sound very similar to me especially your comment in profile about how you judge a book!!! I live just outside Gainsborough so very close to you!! Are you my side of Lincoln?

Lolabella - can't get to your pictures as your profile thing isn't showing!

I am seeing MW in half an hour and not sure if i'm excited or really nervous. Will write when I return. x

chocolategal · 02/06/2008 10:45

LolaBella · 02/06/2008 11:22

Oh damn it - i'v played around with my profile a bit now. Can somebody click on it to see if it works? Should show my bump too.

Pinki good luck with mw today x

MerryMarigold · 02/06/2008 11:26

nope, there should be a little bottle shaped thing between the exclamation and the email symbol. it's not there...

Pinkali37 · 02/06/2008 12:02

Hi,

EVERYTHING IS FINE !!!!!! I am so relieved. She went straight to the heartbeat which was lovely and healthy. 'He' is a lot higher up than I thought so my bloating is mroe than likely baby bump! I can't stop smiling

Hope everyone else gets on ok too. xx

bubbaz · 02/06/2008 13:35

Just spent ages reading all this. I've been off on half-term, and got behind! Glad to hear most people are feeling pretty good. I'm feeling good too, although tired. I've definitely got a bump (that other people can spot), and felt the baby move at 14 weeks - now 16 exactly. Seems quite early for bump and movement as it's my 1st, so hoping it's not cos it's going to be a whoppper (my DH has mostly 9-10 lb babies in his family?!).

Going for midwife appointment in a few mins - haven't seen anyone since 8 weeks, as I felt fine they said I didn't need to bother. Had my scan at 11 weeks so will be good to hear HB again.

ChocOrange05 · 02/06/2008 14:23

I'm very jealous of all you who have felt movements. I am 18+2 and not had anything yet.

ChocOrange05 · 02/06/2008 14:23

Lola your bump is so neat - not sure I will put mine on anymore!

SoExcited · 02/06/2008 14:28

I was really confused when I felt it at 14+0. Most things I've read suggest with your first it's most likely to be 18-20 weeks. My sister felt at 16 weeks. I also read it's mroe likely if you're slim - I usually have a very flat stomach - I carry my weight lower down . I have quite a clear bump already, so maybe that has something to do with it (an old lady asked me when it was due a the weekend, and I still thought people would think I was just fat?!)

I have felt a few times altogether, but I think until it's kicks or more identifiable movements it's not so exciting anyway. Least you won't have to wait too long for proper kicks!

bubbaz · 02/06/2008 14:42

Chocorange I didn't feel DS til about 22 weeks I had had my second scan and everything by then but when I felt hi it was proper kicks not just flutters. I prob felt him earlier but I didn't know thats what it was as I have felt very slight movements on and off since about 14 wks this time but prob wouldn't have thought much about it if I didn't know what it was!!

Pinkali37 · 02/06/2008 14:49

Lolabella, that is a lovely neat bump. Quite low too. Mine seems to fill my entire stomach area. I will take a picture later and put it on. How many weeks are you?

thomasina1 · 02/06/2008 15:05

Hello, glad everyone seems to be well. Yey Pinkali, must have been gret to hear heartbeat. I've got my 16wk appointment tomorrow but it is with my GP so I'm hoping I'll get to hear heartbeat too... will she have a doppler I wonder??

just found the facebook group and will join soon, but there are still a few people I need to tell first. I'm not sure how you can make it more private but at the mo you can see the members plus your pictures and I'm guessing on your profiles it will say that you are a member.

Am really pleased that I seem to be developing a bump... yey! People are commenting that I am starting to show and I had one colleague ask if I was pregnant. Reassuring as I thought I just looked a bit fat!

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 15:44

good news on all the heartbeats today

We have had a busy weekend in the garden then shopping for DD's birthday. She got an early present in the form of her first doll, which she took an instant shine to on the shelf and hasn't let it out of her sight since, bless her. Everytime we tried to take it from her she just screamed and screamed. If she can't see it, she starts shouting Mimi (not sure if this is her meaning mummy or not? but it's now baby's name) It's very cute (her behaviour, not the baby...it's ugly as sin . she also puckered up and smacked her lips for a kiss this morning. she is making my heart melt today

think we are going to buy a Phil and Teds.......huge expense, but DH is convinced by it which is always a bonus...if it doesn't work out, I can always blame him!!

Took the DCs to Tropical World today as DS still off for a training day. They were both beautifully well behaved and a lovely day was had by all....until DS ran off and I couldn't find him, but I stayed calm and didn't yell at him; just explained calmly why he had been bad and he was really remorseful. If i had shouted at him he wouldn;t have cared less . so I'm off to shine my parenting halo and write a book on it

My bump is too horrifically big to unleash on here

SoExcited · 02/06/2008 15:58

Just back from my appointment with the midwife. Heard the HB fine Is always nice to hear, although I can't say I feel anxious any more. Also, can anyone else share the'r blood pressure readings? I've been feeling a bit light headed so queried it.
At 8 weeks mine was 120/80.
At 16 weeks mine was 110/62.

She didn't seem to think this was low enough to make me light headed, although she did say that your blood pressure tends to vary a lot when you're pregnant. I'm not worried, just curious.

ChocOrange05 · 02/06/2008 16:05

Lacka wait to see my bump tonight and then you'll see what's huge. And I have no excuse as its my first!!

LouiseSJ · 02/06/2008 16:08

Hi everyone. You lot talks loads. It's hard to keep up with all the messages.

Merrymarigold - What you have said about your friend and her children with small age gap is reassuring. I know a lot of people think we are mad, but we did plan it this way. We hope that being close in age will mean they will be good friends and will be into the same things which should make keeping them entertained easier.

LackaDAISYcal - I think they will be in different school years. I was not on the November 07 thread. I was on the January 08. My baby was due 2nd January, but was born early on 7th December.

Pinkali37 - I am about 3 miles south of Lincoln centre. A few ladies are meeting on Wednesday at 1.30pm at Starbucks. Would be great if you could join us. We can compare bump sizes. Mine is huge already, but I have to confess that is probably due to sweets and cake!

Chocorange05 - With my first pregnancy I didn't feel any movements until about 19 weeks. Then I wasn't sure if it was just wind. My placenta was at the front which makes movements less noticeable. This time I haven't yet felt anything. I am 15 weeks.

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 16:16

soexcited; mine was 110/70 at ten weeks and 110/60 at 16 weeks. I'm pretty sure this is within normal parameters though.

How are your iron levels? mine were just over 10 and I'd been feeling quuite light-headed with that. am now taking 2 sachets of spatone a day (rather than the nasty ferrous sulphate tablets I was prescribed) and feeling much better already.

You'll get used to the fast moving chat louise

OK, I'll try and get a photo of my bump and post it (if I can find the leads for plugging the camera into the pooter that is!)

SoExcited · 02/06/2008 16:25

The iron level is the Hb reading isn't it? That was 12.2 which is fine. The only thing that was slightly low (although they didn't comment on) was HCT 0.347 which is similar in that it has something to do with anaemia. I am taking pregnacare multivitamin and have a good diet, so I wouldn't expect to be low on iron.
