becky so sorry for your loss, take care of yourself

Flumpybumpy · 23/05/2008 21:35

Antone know where I can buy Dime bars??? I have a HUGE craving for them and can't find them anywhere.

msdynamo · 23/05/2008 23:22

Yes, Ikea sells them, of all places! They sell mini ones in a large back. Should keep you busy.

msdynamo · 23/05/2008 23:25

becky, I also wanted to add my condolences. Terribly sad news, I am really sorry. Thinking of you x

kd73 · 24/05/2008 04:07

Becky, I am so sorry.

I was in a similar situation over Christmas & New Year. After a small amount of spotting, I was referred to EPAU in Jan and was told that they couldn't find the baby which placed me at under 5 weeks, whereas I knew from my calculations that I was 11+wks. After the scan, things developed quickly and by the following scan which was a week later (ensuring that the baby wasn't progressing), it was confirmed as over. Remember that the second scan is to double check that the pg is not progressing and as such until that second scan, get lots of rest and stick to medicines etc that you can take if pregnant.

Good luck & take it easy xxx

And....

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping???

I am currently 9+wks and keeping me awake beyond 8pm is just impossible but at 3am, I wake starving hungry and dying to pee.

Its driving me bonkers particularly as by the time I get to work, I want sleep again!!!!!!!

kayzisexpecting · 24/05/2008 06:10

Yes kd73 I am the same but I wake up at 5 instead of 3. Its horrible and I normally end up asleep on the sofa just after lunch, when DS lets me.

flumpybumpy The newsagents round here both sell Dime bars. They are sooo lovely, I might go buy some one later. Ikea do sell like big bags of mini Dime bars.

EffiePerine · 24/05/2008 07:26

I'd like to sleep past 5am but DS wakes me up and then I need to go to the loo. He's coming into bed with us and dozing off again most days, which means a 6/7am getting up time which is more reasonable.

Verso · 24/05/2008 07:52

DIME BARS!!! You lot are incorrigible! You realise what I'm going to have to buy today?!!

I had a lie-in this morning - til 6am! DD usually wakes before 6am, but the bunny clock seems to be working... slowly.

Feel terrible this morning - stinking cold (again) just in time for the Bank Holiday. Lucky me! >sneeze< >sneeze< >sniff< Think this is why I've had a headache for ages.

By the way - maybe we should have the London meet up at IKEA?

msdynamo · 24/05/2008 08:26

Hello all, had my MW checking in appointment yesterday. I really want a scan now! All these terrible disappointments on here are making me worry so much. I know we have to stay positive, but I could do with some reassurance (reaches for the Dime bars)

EffiePerine · 24/05/2008 08:42
rosmerta · 24/05/2008 09:35

mrsdynamo I know how you feel. I was so worried leading up to my scan. All you can do is try to relax and not stress too much.

Dime bars? Yuk! Give me a packet of Skips any day

On a funny coincidence note, two of us on this thread have realised we know each other! I met up with one of my NCT friends yesterday and as we were chatting, turned out she's on this thread as well as me! We had a bit of a giggle about it.

msdynamo · 24/05/2008 09:38

Thanks rosemerta, BTW what is NCT?

rosmerta · 24/05/2008 09:45

National Childbirth Trust, I did an antenatal course first time around with them and am still in touch with some of the others who were on it.

southernbelle77 · 24/05/2008 10:52

I'm feeling rough today. Yesterday I felt rubbish and thought it was just nausea and tiredness, but now I think I'm coming down with something as feel really lightheaded and my throat is killing me. Really hoping it's not glandular fever as my sil has it and I could do without that right now.

I LOVE dime bars although right now the thought of one isn't doing me any good!!

What a small world knowing someone else on the thread in RL! I'd find that really strange!!

Indith · 24/05/2008 14:35

Dime Bars! Wow, do people still eat those? Well obviously they do...

Over Easter we were playing taboo or something, maybe Articulate. Anyway the answer was Aarmadillo so Dp just goes "like a dime bar but not" and I got it straight away.

Look it made me giggle ok!

Small world indeed, that is very cool. Though you realise that every time you consider posting something that you would never normally say in RL you will think again.....Or not, I know a fair few people off here now and have given up caring

IceCube · 24/05/2008 15:21

Must be something in the air, I too am full of cold, not fair when I was just starting to throw off the morning sickness.

DH is knocking back the lemsips and strepsils and moaning about what a bad cold it is and I'm left in the corner going "I KNOW"

hattyyellow · 24/05/2008 18:08

Dime bars...no don't do it for me, but this trimester is so wierd when it comes to food I can believe anything!

Have a bizarre craving for chicken korma - DH has just popped over to see a friend and am debating whether to phone him to get him to stop off at our local curry place on way back..

Seeing as everything I eat makes me feel queasy and burpy, this is surely a bad idea? Or would chicken korma be pleasantly mild...

I'd quite like my normal stomach back now please!

Really sorry for everyone with colds - how rotten, especailly when you can't knock back the lemsip extra! Hope you all feel better soon!

Verso · 24/05/2008 18:31

hattyyellow I find that if I go with whatever I want my tummy approves. If I try to force it to eat 'sensibly' (ie the planned menu from the weekend's big shop) it rebels. I say go for the korma!

Didn't buy Dime bars today after all... the mere thought makes me feel green now!

IceCube and southernbelle you have my sympathy, coldwise. It's no fun!

rosmerta · 24/05/2008 18:36

hattyyellow I've just had a curry, go for it

icecube & southernbelle hope your colds get better soon

Junk food update: I've had 3 packets of Skips today

Verso · 24/05/2008 18:40

By the way, someone mentioned the NCT. Can I just have a little rant about them please? I missed out on antenatal classes with them for DD and had hospital ones - which were (a) useless practically and (b) useless for making friends locally as the catchment area was so large. End result after traumatic birth: complete isolation, which was mindblowingly awful .

This time round I have tried to book classes early because I only moved to this area recently and again am likely to be sans local Mumfriends after the birth. I'm keen to avoid a repeat experience!

However the woman organising them in my area keeps getting them wrong. I tried to book an evening/weekend - so she sent me a Tuesday daytime slot (both DH and I work) - in a completely different area to where I live. I phoned and emailed to explain and ask to rebook at a better time/location and she said she'd send me stuff out.

Today I've got a really snitty email from her 'kindly' asking me to respond to the offer of a place as there are other couples waiting and I've missed the deadline!

I HAVE ALREADY REPLIED AND HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A SECOND OFFER IN THE BETTER LOCATION/TIME!

This type of thing makes my blood boil at the best of times but add in pg hormones and my fear of the whole postnatal experience (given DD's birth trauma etc) and it's not good!

I've tried getting in touch with a different volunteer to try to book through her but I'm worried I'm now too late. Can anyone advise/help?

kayzisexpecting · 24/05/2008 18:53

I have had 4 Dime Bars today and still have 1 left. They were sooooo yummy. I've also eaten almost a whole tube of BBQ Sauce pringles!!

We've been to the beach today and I am so very tired I am having an early night.

chinchi · 24/05/2008 18:54

Forget morning sickness- Ive made myself feel sick thinking of all the junk Ive eaten this afternoon, yet at the time craved like crazy!:

Half roast chicken
2 litre bottle of Sprite
Half large packet of own brand Skips
Bowl of chilli with rice and 2 pitta bread

Surely this is all greed and not need?! This time last week I was on just 2 sandwiches a day!
