Thought I'd do this and post my last comments:

Hi all. Glad to hear more good scan news!

We had MIL visit this weekend and she is such hard work. She literally never lifted a finger and kept going back to bed every couple of hours. I've asked DP not to let her come again for a while as it's hard work waiting on someone.

We also finally put DS in his 'big boy bed'. Went quite well - he went to bed no problems, but he woke up at 2am crying as he'd got stuck under the duvet. He was then awake for a couple of hours so I'm feeling shattered today. Anyone of you with older children got any tips?

Slinkie we'll be near each other for mat leave won't we? We can have some fun together I'm sure.

Meglet I'm the same as you with the whole bf thing. I hated it last time and was relieved when I gave up. I keep veering to and fro with regards to trying it for this baby. I had such a happy time last time round, really enjoyed the whole experience, and am worried that attempting to bf will make the whole thing fraught.

OOOOh a lovely new thread for September mums to be

I'm having a bit of trouble with the sneezing/weeing department. I've given up on my pelvic floor and just gone straight to panty liners

eandz · 21/05/2008 09:48

i only have major pee leakeage when i sneeze in the midst of carrying something heavy...otherwise i just leak discharge.

orgasms are effective as a substitute for for pelvic floors? really???!!!

johnworf · 21/05/2008 09:51

eandz without sounding too personal, what colour is your discharge? (I failed on the 'too' personal front, I know). Mine is a funny colour but hospital have done swabs and say it's fine and no infection there.

I dunno...it doesn't smell but it is a weird colour.

starlight what's an orgasm? Think I vaguely remember those things.....

Maybe someone should try to mention pelvic floors once a day on here... It's the only time I remember to do them!

kasha I do hope the rest of your pregnancy is much less worrying - you poor thing!

Looks like nobody in the last few scans are planning to find out the sex - I keep wavering a little (MIL keeps moaning about the only nice things in the shops are pink or blue) but dh is adamant so I'm happy to wait til the big day. V excited to see baby on friday though

eandz when I was a fair bit younger and in v early stages of relationship with dh we had a torn condom - I took the morning after pill and STILL got pregnant. Think like you I may be super-fertile - will have to be v careful afte this one is born.
Like you I've also got circumcision options to consider... I'm Jewish but not at all religious, and have a bit of pressure from my family to do it. dh isn't Jewish and is fairly happy to go along with my wishes. Maybe that's a reason to find out the sex on Friday? hmmm...

womb you and your family look absolutely gorgeous in the magazine... what an inspiring story

eandz · 21/05/2008 10:00

johnwolf, my discharge is sometimes really really really light green/white or just a pale yellow. i've been to the doctor and he says it's ok....what color is yours?

starlight, two a day, huh? well i guess if it's got medical benefits with regards to delivering this baby, i guess it's a sacrifice i shall have to look into.

...although my braxton hicks feel like mini orgasms...is this normal?

Hi everyone- wow this thread moves so quick it has taken me 30 mins to catch up. Glad all ur scans are going really well, deff more boys confirmed than girls not sure what were having but desperate to know.

Lol at all ur wet knicker stories I too am a member of that club and keep finding myself popping to the toilet after feeling a quick gush to check on it.

Baby has been really active in the nights and I have put on about 16 lbs but have a huge bump.

Dh has gone away for 10 days working and is not back for another 4 so am starting to feel sad and lonley and needing a hug. Poor me

Good luck to the the 3 of you waiting scans.

eandz · 21/05/2008 10:18

kel78,

my husband is away currently also. but the next stretch is going to be a killer. since the next trip i'm scheduled to go with him ..but it's in dubai and then 3 days in kuwait and it's just soo darn hot in the middle east. even though i spend most of my time in the water or in the air conditioned parts...but still it's either go to the hot middle east in two weeks or be lonely and at home?

LittleConnie · 21/05/2008 10:20

oh and splish I'm really glad the scan went well

eandz · 21/05/2008 10:23

LittleConnie,
seems like we have a lot in common ! I don't think I'm going to hold a bris, just a little circumcision and then a gigantic brunch and announce his name... have you any idea what your going to do?

LittleConnie · 21/05/2008 10:36

eandz if I did decide to go ahead it would be in hospital so it wouldn't be a proper bris anyway. I'm very undecided to be honest, think I just need to do a bit more research. Did you check out the pregnancy yoga by the way? V sad that I that it was my last class there this week as I'm moving to Ealing at the weekend...

I'd deffo go to the middle east if I were you... just pack some lovely floaty kaftans and a little electric fan - think of the giant air-conditioned shopping malls you could be frequenting!

kel78 · 21/05/2008 10:37

eandz- Id deff go, rather sit in the water and drink lovely coctails even though they will be non alcahol than stay at home. I cant go woth mine cos I have 2 girls in school but it does seem harder this time prob cos of all my homones making me feel sorry for myself.

I have also been eating alot this lat few days think im comfort eating will have to cut that out quick.

johnworf · 21/05/2008 10:38

eandz it's greeny/yellowish. It's vile So I guess it's normal then.....

Belly feels like it's containing a bag of snakes with LO wriggling around so much these days.

Hoping to redress the balance on sexes, I'm having a GIRL

LittleConnie · 21/05/2008 10:38

Quick question for mustsleep if you're around... I'm strongly leaning towards getting the streety, and am trying to find somewhere in London to try it out first. Can you tell me if the handle height is adjustable? I'm 5'2" and dh is 6'2" !

LittleConnie · 21/05/2008 10:42

Congrats on your girl johnworf!

johnworf · 21/05/2008 10:44

Thanks lilttleconnie Have been busy buying lots of girly clothes and having nightmares LO is born with a penis

eandz · 21/05/2008 10:45

LittleConnie,
I looked at the pregnancy yoga link, but then ended up doing the pregnancy yoga class at the portland because it's closer...and because i got a gigantic discount.

regarding the middle east trip, it'll be free so thats a plus, but what bothers me just a teeny bit is even if i do go, i'll be alone most of the time till he's done with his meetings...but i guess it's better than nothing.

Kel78,
I'm seriously eating everything i crave twice so that i wont crave it again for atleast a week...i hope your comfort eating isn't out of control like mine...all the same, it must be nice to have two little girls to spend time with in the evenings. i can't wait till we have a few more kids.

Sunshinemummy · 21/05/2008 10:47

Hi all.

Quick bed update - last night was a triumph (really hope I'm not counting my chickens here). DS went to bed in his sleeping bag, under his cover, no problem. No whimpering or restlessness. I popped in at 9:30 and he was fast asleep, upseide down, on top of the covers. DP woke him up this morning! It seems to be going really well.

DP was out all night last night. Quite glad in a way as he was drinking so he'd probably have woken us both up, but I woke up a 4am in that 'where is he' panic! He looked rough when he finally came home at 6:30am - poor thing (not)!

Slinkie - I got an e-mail from the NCT woman with dates for refresher yesterday. Did you get it too?

jennylindinha · 21/05/2008 11:11

Morning all, I see the wet knicker conversation is still running !

Pidge, lol at your oven glove story! When I was a teenager my eczema was so bad on my feet that I had to slather on the betnovate and wrap my feet in plastic bags before going to bed. Yeugh, it wasn't the most pleasant of things but it did clear it up after a while. Was better than having to soak my feet in a bowl of water when I got home from school just to get my socks off.

I wanted to ask you (or anyone else who cycles) if you wear an anti-pollution mask and if they are any good? I haven't been bothered until now but I'm really feeling the pollution in the air at the moment and am worried about what it might do.

eandz, I would love to have a few days somewhere hot where all I can do is lie around in a pool! Go - and take lots of books to read. What bliss...

Johnworf - I've got the belly of snakes too today, baby won't keep still for a minute!

mustsleep · 21/05/2008 11:12

hi littleconnie yay! for the streety, but serioulsy the handle height does not adjust and is 95 cms which is just right for me as i'm 5foot 3 and dh is 5foot 10.... although i think the tallest maclaren about is like 100cms hth

good news on the bed sitch sunshine

right i think that i am going to be brave and have another attempt at potty training dd next week. she is now 2.8y and really want to get her out of nappies before sept, but she is really uninterested in the potty screams the house down when i put her big girl pants on and then just wets herself even though she knows where the potty is...... better stop as i'm talking myselfout of it. Ds was really good and we had it done within a week with not too many accidents she is just difficult!!
