Thought I'd do this and post my last comments:

Hi all. Glad to hear more good scan news!

We had MIL visit this weekend and she is such hard work. She literally never lifted a finger and kept going back to bed every couple of hours. I've asked DP not to let her come again for a while as it's hard work waiting on someone.

We also finally put DS in his 'big boy bed'. Went quite well - he went to bed no problems, but he woke up at 2am crying as he'd got stuck under the duvet. He was then awake for a couple of hours so I'm feeling shattered today. Anyone of you with older children got any tips?

Slinkie we'll be near each other for mat leave won't we? We can have some fun together I'm sure.

Meglet I'm the same as you with the whole bf thing. I hated it last time and was relieved when I gave up. I keep veering to and fro with regards to trying it for this baby. I had such a happy time last time round, really enjoyed the whole experience, and am worried that attempting to bf will make the whole thing fraught.

lollipop you are not being unreasonable. Yes, there's a small baby boom about 9 months after Christmas, prob due to people puking up their pills, or something, but some people have been trying to conceive for sometime and just happen to have got lucky around Christmas/new year!

I got the vacuum cleaner out tonight, shock horror. Dd didn't know what to make of it!

Talking of dd, she went up to a man in starbucks today and put her hand on his but he was turned the other way, and got such a shock he jumped an absolute mile and threw his drink over himself! I suppose I should have offered to buy him a new drink but I was too busy stifling my laughter!!

carrieon · 02/06/2008 22:45

You know just today I was wondering who on our list would make the first birth announcement but I never thought it would be like that... I have no idea how these things work on MN and how you find out what's going on with people, so thanks for the link ninja, I'm sure we'll all be thinking of them lots and wishing them the very best.

kiskideesameanoldmother · 03/06/2008 08:26

i'm pg because dh and i both have 2 wks off around christmas. i mentioned one morning that maybe next year we could have another baby.

I meant, next year we could start to try for another baby. omg. he wanted sex then and there and now here i am, 24 wks pg.

eandz · 03/06/2008 08:46

only thing i know is, i got pregnant in vegas...and i don't remember ANYTHING i did while i was there.

mumiyumi · 03/06/2008 09:17

My husband works nights so never get to see him during the week, we also had time off together at christmas.....when we found out we were pregnant again it was a bit like.."how did that happen!!"
it's strange as this baby is due 2 weeks after our ds b'day.....
Christmas is the time to conceive as relaxed, good food and lots of alcohol

Gosh, I can't believe Johnworf's little girl is here! hope it all goes well for her.

biglips · 03/06/2008 10:01

yeah wow!....wasnt expecting someone's baby arrived so early. Aww all the best to her x

Pidge · 03/06/2008 10:27

ninja - thanks for that link, am just about to post on johnworf's thread.

Certainly puts any pregnancy niggles into perspective.

kirstygem · 03/06/2008 10:38

My boobs are really sore last couple days, feel like they going to explode. Definately need some new maternity bras

hopefully · 03/06/2008 11:10

Have you clicked through to the picture of johnworf's little girl on her profile? can't believe that we all have one of that approximate size inside us now....

bogie · 03/06/2008 11:30

Wow I can't belive johnworf had the baby already I hope everything goes well the more days that go by the stronger she will get so a week will be a big milestone the picture is amazing.

LittleConnie · 03/06/2008 11:40

I'm in shock so can't begin to imagine how she must be feeling. Sounds like she's being incredibly strong...

digitalgirl · 03/06/2008 11:56

I've just seen johnworf's little girl's picture too. It's heartbreaking to think of the worry she's going through right now. It's going to be a tough few months for her.

I worry about premature labour, especially with my evening cramps. I'm going to mention it to the midwife at next week's appointment, but does anyone else have this?

By the way, thanks for the sink tips. I might get a little washing up bowl for the kitchen sink and then when they're a bit bigger have them in the bath with me.

hopefully · 03/06/2008 12:17

OMG, I am considering two of the weirdest names ever (for me anyway, very traditional/boring names in my family). if anyone wants to offer their tuppenceworth, see my 'is Mac/Mack a weird and silly name' thread on baby names...

kiskideesameanoldmother · 03/06/2008 12:37

oh, digital, meant to say, if you would like to try a tummy tub, which i found great the first time round, i have heard you can get them cheaply on ebay. say a fiver.

if you look at my profile you will see dd as a newborn in one and then as a 3 yr old test driving it again.

I like it starlight! Sadly I may have missed the boat on that excuse, as I think they may not be talking to us... It's hard to tell as we don't really call them, so we wouldn't notice if they were cross with us!

DebitheScot · 03/06/2008 13:32

Oh my goodness, can't believe Johnworf has had her baby. Has it affected anyone else harder than you'd think it should do considering we don't know her?

I've put a few new photos on my profile page including a very unflattering one of me and my bump.

hopefully · 03/06/2008 14:00

I like your thinking starlight!

Also def agree about being v affected by Johnworf's story - didn't expect to be remotely touched by the birth of the child of someone I've never met, but suppose we all have a bit of an emotional investment in one another now!

mamamufin · 03/06/2008 14:45

Gosh, Ive just been on Johnworfs thread. What a shock, I feel all shivery. I have sent my thoughts and love. She has always been so good in replying to my posts. I am wishing her all the best right now. xx

mamamufin · 03/06/2008 15:12

Oh I have just watched a c section on the babychannel tv. .

Talia1 · 03/06/2008 15:28

Greetings finally, four hours to catch up on this thread, but I'm off work with a cold and this is distracting me from feeling grotty.

Poor Johnworf, she must be worrying so much - though her baby looks so gorgeous . I'm with Hopefully on the whole 'we have one of those inside us' freak out.

I made the mistake of telling a traditional friend that I was asking for black Goth baby clothes, she's now gone to buy pink, pink and more pink. I should learn to keep quiet.
