Thought I'd do this and post my last comments:

Hi all. Glad to hear more good scan news!

We had MIL visit this weekend and she is such hard work. She literally never lifted a finger and kept going back to bed every couple of hours. I've asked DP not to let her come again for a while as it's hard work waiting on someone.

We also finally put DS in his 'big boy bed'. Went quite well - he went to bed no problems, but he woke up at 2am crying as he'd got stuck under the duvet. He was then awake for a couple of hours so I'm feeling shattered today. Anyone of you with older children got any tips?

Slinkie we'll be near each other for mat leave won't we? We can have some fun together I'm sure.

Meglet I'm the same as you with the whole bf thing. I hated it last time and was relieved when I gave up. I keep veering to and fro with regards to trying it for this baby. I had such a happy time last time round, really enjoyed the whole experience, and am worried that attempting to bf will make the whole thing fraught.

Ohh I have been in agony all day, I have the joy of pregnancy trapped wind. Dh finally went to chemist and got me some windeeze but I deff need to get some peppermint water as well. Never had this before what a killer.

Hope ur all ok, just had some fab news from virgin after my nightmare holiday with them, they have given us £2000 compensation, yes I said £2000. I was expecting about £300 so I am well pleased will pay off my store cards and have about 1400 left to buy lots of baby things.

Hi to all of you who invited me as a friend on facebook, thanks my freinds list is finally growing lol

Hope ur all well and can you believe we are almost getting close to third trimester.

eandz · 30/05/2008 18:12

i liked the balmoral pram from silvercross it was soo very retro and just ancient looking. and not to mention that it's got amazing shock absorbtion... but i got kicked out of john lewis the other day trying to test it's limits. sometimes i think i'm too immature to be having a baby.

i think we're gonna stick with some sort of bugaboo...the good thing about them is that they retain value...

Worthog · 30/05/2008 18:46

Lollipopmother

8-Sept - Worthog - age 36 - Harrogate - first baby - GIRL

hi everyone wow at all the posts today!

starlight you are like a whirlpool of breast knowledge!! i think that i am def going to give it a go this time...i think

how do you find out your support number at the hospital for the breastfeeding stuff?

we have just been out and bought all the baby clothes! have got some gorgeous stuff from next all funky jeans and t shirts and sleep suits with guitars on loove it - i have been quite good though and only bought a few things in newborn and six sleepsuits for both age groups as next's newborn size is up to 7.8lbs and ds was already 7.5lbs when he was born and as i am so huge i have kept the receipts just incase

eandz · 30/05/2008 19:47

hi guys!
i'm on here while my mother in law is cooking a weeks worth of food for us...and usually i sit in there with her, but my husband is sucking up to her soo wildly that it's making me sick! ugh, what a goody two shoes!

carrieon · 30/05/2008 20:05

Just had a quick wizz through the last few pages, I've got the time it takes my mum to do the washing up to do all my emails and stuff, and she's a fast worker!

To those worried about not feeling baby movements, I will say it again, I barely felt dd move the entire pregnancy, she was just jolly lazy and I only really felt her when she had hiccups, so really really don't worry! And as for wanting to be kicked...just be careful what you wish for coz you might just get it! Baby has been abusing my bladder lately, I was bursting for the loo earlier but when I went there was hardly anything there, I think the baby has actually bruised it or hit a nerve or something!

Went to Scarborough today and it was brill, dd loved the beach and ran round it chasing seagulls, I can't believe she didn't fall over on the sand once, she really is a toddler now and not a baby! Thinking I should prob take down her 1st birthday cards since it was nearly 2 months ago now...
Unfortunately she only had 1/2hr sleep though, she's not great at staying asleep in the buggy as she's used to being in her bed, so my cunning plan for her to sleep on the train home didn't work and instead I spent the hour going up and down the aisles with her. Thankfully there were some very friendly people there but I am beyond tired now.
Dh went away tonight for the weekend and I cried as he drove away I've got a great weekend planned, but I'll really really miss him, and will start next week even more tired from being in sole charge of dd. Also mum leaves tomorrow having been here a week, so we go from a parenting team of 3 to just me.

Ooops, mum has finsihed washing up, better dash, or look like I'm doing something more important!!

meglet · 30/05/2008 20:18

carrieon i second your advice about non-wriggly babies. My mum said I was always wriggling when she was pregnant with me but my younger sister barely moved at all. I think this baby is starting to move as much as DS did.

I have been very good this evening and had a new pregnancy gym routine done [polishes halo]. I was bored with my old exercises so these should just keep me occupied until I pop. I love going to the gym, its more fun that the pub these days. How tragic is that!

Going to have pasta and ice cream now!

Can i be on the list too? Tho I'm not sure what the list is - do i have to be on it to be 'in the club'? Think i am in that already

Due 3 Sept 08 - first baby. Don't know the sex.

slinkiemalinki · 30/05/2008 22:43

eandz I have always said on these private patient threads that your lead carer is waaaay more important than the environment. I know you would feel more comfortable at C&W but if nobody else is available (what about Lupton, is he gone now?) I would really be having doubts about the new guy!
I have two friends who've both had two babies at the Portland and they were happy enough to go back, although if you are (so-called!) high risk I can really understand why you want more of a full-care teaching hospital environment. It's a toug one. Hope you sort it out.
Otherwise I miss so much during the day that I shall post some random responses... I had the odd glass of wine breastfeeding, but tended to limit myself to one glass for which I was always grateful! My daughter had an expressed bottle on those nights as I tended to have it when out. But I didn't "pump and dump" or anything.
I have been looking at the tummy tub too, but have heard mixed responses how people have gotten on with them with tiny babies. Although mine may well just be in the main bath with DD on a bath support given I have to run a bath anyway most nights.
Very envious of those going on holiday. I am going to a spa with my mum for two nights end of Jan where I shall be having TWO Elemis mother-to-be massages. They are fabulous. But a bit worried about leaving my daughter, we were away a few weekends last summer but haven't left her since and she is far more aware of it now!

eandz · 30/05/2008 23:56

slinkie,
Martin Luptons secretary is atrocious! I had called them several times since feb trying to book him since Beeston was already booked...but Beestons secretary had to get in touch with Luptons secretary to call me back and when she did call me back, boy was she rude! I emailed him and he never got back to me although Beestons secretary who called me twice to see if i ever did find a consultant. she's the one who suggested hazem el rafey (the consultant i'm seeing now)...

I'm going to see him one more time next week with my husband and then we'll decide if we want to dump him or not. if worst does come to worst, i can always just go home and let my mothers best friend deliver my baby. (my mom wants to do the delivery but understands that i won't be comfortable.)

eandz · 30/05/2008 23:58

argh...correction i meant that beestons secretary called me twice to see if i had settled on a consultant and told me that lupton still had availability. then she suggested hazem al rafaey...

lollyheart · 31/05/2008 11:58

Where is everyone today.

Im stuck in at the moment waiting for my shopping to be deliverd.

Im loving all the picks on face book it nice to put names to faces.

I hope you are all well and having a great weekend.

eandz · 31/05/2008 12:05

aww lollyheart!

i'm stuck waiting for the cleaner. i love her to death but she doesn't speak English and is never on time...so I can't ask the doorman to let her in.

i finally added the pregnancy ticker application, thank you!

what are you going to have for lunch?

notcitrus · 31/05/2008 12:24

I'm about to go back to bed - family baby #2 was finally born at 7.30am after faffing about most of the day. I'm going to visit tomorrow as all concerned just want to sleep today!

As the Victoria line is out of commission (need to get from Streatham to Marylebone), I'd better rest my hips as much as possible today, remembering not to cross my legs and keeping hips to knees together as much as possible. I'm trying to think of myself as a stranded mermaid rather than a beached whale...

lollyheart · 31/05/2008 12:26

Hi eandz.

i think in going to have pate on toast i love it i no that in not suppose to eat it but a little bit wont hurt will it.

Are you having anything nice for lunch?

I wish i had a cleaner but im abit fussy i think i would just go over what she/he has already done.

eandz · 31/05/2008 12:33

Lollyheart,

i had a donut for lunch and still have my breakfast eggs left over. dh is a nazi when it comes to finishing meals...but that means i get an extra cup of tea!

i'm not fussy with the cleaner, because i am SOO messy, yuck!

pate sounds good

lollyheart · 31/05/2008 13:00

Eandz my shopping has just arrived yeah i love it that shops deliver it saves my so much time and effort.

im going to have my pate on toast now mmmm.

eandz · 31/05/2008 13:13

enjoy your pate lollyheart!!
i love my groceries being delivered too..

carrieon · 31/05/2008 17:24

Big night for me tonight - the first time ever that I'll be in sole charge of dd overnight. I've gone away with her without dh before, but always to stay with mine or his parents, so although I've been in charge, its never been just her and me in the house overnight. Its pathetic I know. Next thing I might spend a night away from her! But I'm not quite ready for that yet...

I've had an idea so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a fox...we need to get wardrobes for what will be dd's room (thereby freeing up the box room for the baby) Well today I did the measuring (thank you once again mum for motivating me to get butt off sofa!) and discovered that the wardrobes in our room will fit perfectly in hers, so we can get new wardrobes for our room instead, to co-ordinate with the new chest of drawers we bought from Ikea a couple of years ago. Co-ordinating furniture in the carrieon house, whoever would have thought it?! Dd's room will be a mish mash but I'm gonna get stuff from the 'fun at the zoo' range from mothercare (sleeping bag, curtains, wall stickers) to try and tie it all together! Hee hee, an Ikea trip is in the pipeline. THankfullly dh will tolerate it coz he loves the meatballs

mamamufin · 31/05/2008 17:25

Hi girls, not much to catch up on for a change.
lollyheart I am loving the pate idea, mmmm. I am going to have a few prawns with my salad tonight. .
I am in the Garden on my laptop. Ive just covered my potatoes with more soil, Dh is trying to erect a new bbq after our last one went up in flames. Ds is bouncing on the bouncy castle. However, Big cloud is on the horizon so need to get packed up.
You are so lucky to have a cleaner eandz. But I think I would end up doing it myself again anyway too. I have turned into monica where cleaning is involved.
Cant wait for britains got talent.
Happy weekend mummies x

eandz · 31/05/2008 17:33

i wish i knew how to clean or else i wouldn't have a cleaner. but she's a gift from my mil...so i don't mind not knowing where everything is when she's done cleaning.

mamamufin, enjoy your garden time it sounds lovely.

carrieon, i only dream of the pax wardrobes at night and during those boring rainy afternoons. enjoy your new wardrobes when you get them...and i like the idea you have for your dd's room.
