I wonder how quickly we'll get through this thread?!?!?!?!

sorry to hear that you ended up on your bum whinegums. Hope you're feeling ok. I've got plenty of padding on my bum too . Sadly, its my entire 'undercarriage' that is sore. Its not too bad when I'm lying down but as soon as I put any weight on my legs the pain is searing. I keep trying to walk about to stop myself stiffening up but it makes my eyes water.

DH has set up laptop by the sofa for me now so a little bit of internet shopping is called for... hope those showing early labour type symptoms all doing ok, I wonder when the next baby will appear?!?!

Hi all - neenz really loving your updates and v.impresssed with you. Making me excited about meeting little paris (although splodge/whinegumsreckon we'll be the last women standing on here.. just know that I'll be waiting)

DQ glad you're ok and hope you had a really indulgent day esp after all your revision.

gemmalou how you doing today after you're nieces were over? Can totally sympathise with not being comfortable (esp in the heat) as kept trying to find somewhere comfortable to sit and then trying to get comfy in bed is a nightmare. Hopefully you won't have too long to wait til they induce you - will they let you know more after you've had your next scan?

poppy34 · 11/05/2008 20:59

btw highlight of today was visiting my mil who tried to feed us marmite that was over 6 years out of date...

xxgemmalou22xx · 11/05/2008 21:36

katyjo are u in slow labor hun??

poppy34 i am ok i guess still hot and bothered got my fan out ready for bed tonight so i am prepared haha! Yes not long to wait now i have a scan a week tuesday and if the baby has grown lots then they are going to start me off but if she has not then she will be stopping in there for another 2 weeks then they will be starting me off so for me it will all be over in 4 weeks! I keep having a sore pain by my pubic bone do you get this it hurts me to walk it feels like my vagina is loosening up and getting well sensetive and sore! sorry i had to ask!...

PearTart · 11/05/2008 21:39

yuk, what kind of Sunday lunch is that??

Poor DQ and Whinegums- we're at that "whoa, what happened to my centre of gravity stage"! Did you get anything nice on int- sparkly changing mats or such like?

I'm exhausted after DD had big teething pains this evening. I put bonjella on her gums and she bit my finger so hard that I cried out. Then her eyes welled up again... Sniff

But we did have a fab time swimming splashing in the local pool today. DH kept throwing her up and catching her in the water and we splashed and laughed and floated and chased the floaty toys. So much to look forward to.

PearTart · 11/05/2008 21:42

Hi Gemmalou, could be that your baby is starting to descend and so putting pressure on your lady-bits and pubic bone. Have a water spray next to your bed to help cool off when you need. I'm cooking up here too.

poppy34 · 11/05/2008 21:46

yes -gemma knwo what you mean - sometimes when I get up or start moving feel definite ache down there-quite a sharp pain...something is definitely loosening up. 4 weeks max -that is not so long to wait in theory but when you can't get comfy and its hot it seems like forever (just know I'll end up going overdue - 7 weeks that'll be ).

peartart - this is quite a typical tea.
I did try to get dh not to eat the 18 month old peanut butter but my psychic messages to him were not strong enough ... he is still ok so far. I think he may have immunity having grown up with her out of date bargains. Sounds like you've had your hands full with your dd (although got a bit gooey hearing about her swimming with your dh)

PearTart · 11/05/2008 21:54

It's so nice when good things happen and when your babe giggles and everything feels so nice in the world...

PearTart · 11/05/2008 21:55

Opps sorry I meant Poppy (must be Freudian- perhaps your DH will be poopy now!)

poppy34 · 11/05/2008 22:03

lol re dh name - peartart - if he is no one can say he didn't know what his mother was like....

xxgemmalou22xx · 11/05/2008 22:13

peartart i hope it is the baby starting to come down or head is engaged !!!!!! good idea about the water bottle i got me fan on now haha

poppy34 ahh im glad i aint alone it really does hurt and sometimes i walk like im 82 not 22 haha! yeah four weeks is not long butt like you say in this heat and not being able to get comfy it feels lots longer.. I will write on this board when there going to induce me as soon as i know. I really hope when i go a week tuesday they say they are going to do it with in the next couple of days will just have to wait and see eh!

poppy34 · 11/05/2008 22:18

gemma its horrible isnt it? I hate it when i am puffed out trying to climb stairs and fell over in rain outside hospital the other day and had to be helped up....

xxgemmalou22xx · 11/05/2008 22:23

aww poppy bless u how long till ur due now? some man saw me struggling to get a box down in a shop so he got it for me bless him and some man carried the cot to the car today when he saw my bump lol bless them.

poppy34 · 11/05/2008 22:25

due date is in 5 weeks (I'm late june) so could be 7 weeks.. I don't complain when I get offered a seat on teh tube (but did actually have to kick someone off the priority seat the other day - somehow hormones seem to make me shameless).

xxgemmalou22xx · 11/05/2008 22:29

haha well done for you you have more then a right to do that!! Ahh so you may have to suffer the heat longer then bless ! i dont think ill go past 36 weeks pregnant and im now 35 because of baby growin so fast im hoping when i go they say shes grown lots and so will start me and then ill be well excited. IT has been nice being pregnant but i want to hold my baba now )

LauraT · 11/05/2008 23:57

it's just taken me an hour to read all the posts from the weekend, I'm now nicely tired for bed, which I have all to myself as DH still in Sweden. to having bed to self to being abandoned pregnant lady/

can't remember what I was going to post after all that reading but have nice holidays/good luck with early labour/ don't leave me here alone at the end of June/ Neenz you are a legend/

my feet still fit my shoes, can I expect this to change in the next few weeks???

xxgemmalou22xx · 12/05/2008 03:33

neenz was these little twins your first children? What was giving birth like is it as bad as some women make it out to be?? Would you ever go through it again? Im just being nosey because ill be doing it soon and who better to ask then someone who has given birth to two on the same day! haha x

debinaustria · 12/05/2008 06:48

Morning - hey Gemma I should have got up and had a chat, I was awake the same time as you again!! Had a really rough night then boys were at my bedside at 7.00, dressed with their bags packed! They are so excited.

Now I'll be without my own internet access but may pop in from time to time if I can , good luck everyone with those early labour signs, good luck Makecakes for Thursday.

Neenz - please try to sleep when babes are also sleeping in the day, don't get me wrong, we love to hear from you but sleep is more important!!

Be back on Thursday, take care everyone

Amberc · 12/05/2008 07:43

I have finally found this June thread I've read about! Due on June 11th but midwife thinks I'll never keep this baby in that long as he's a big one and is going to give me my first sweep at 38 weeks! Very excited now but scared stupid about the actual labour part. Not packed a bag yet and with my list of stuff for it looks like it'll be more of a suitcase! It's too hot to be heavily pregnant in London and my flat is like a greenhouse and I'm too exhaused to go out as I can't sleep at night (due to hip pains, needing to pee and general uncomfortableness) - anyone else a bit fed up? PS is my first baby x

sophiewd · 12/05/2008 07:50

Welcome AmberC, dive on in.

Deb - mass stripping in Autria? What sort of country do you live in

aberdeenhiker · 12/05/2008 07:57

neenz - you can take ibuprofen as well when breastfeeding but I would ask your doctor or midwife first in case they can give you something better! Check LactMed to look at the safety of any drug while breastfeeding.

aberdeenhiker · 12/05/2008 08:05

And I found out I'm Group B Strep positive on Friday - good bye early discharge, hello antibiotics in labour. I'm definitely less than thrilled since DS's birth was pretty horrible and I don't need any more factors working against me! I still have to chat with my midwife about what all this means for local protocols though.

(gemmalou - seems like birth is a lottery - it was pretty traumatic for me, but fine for a friend of mine. I guess you just have to wait and see where you fall on the spectrum).

goingfor3 · 12/05/2008 08:18

Katyjo, hope things have got going for you. I just seem to get more and more grumpy everytime thing stop and am really tearful.

Debs, have a lovely holiday.

Aberdeenhiker, having antibiotics shouldn't affect your labour too much as you won't be on a drip continuously. I have to admit that both times my hand felt more sore from the venflon than anything else did after I gave birth!
