Evening everyone

Just come on for a quick nosey before i settle down to watch Lost

Have you seen there's now a January 09 thread We're not newbies anymore! Little thing's please me!

Hello and congratulations to everyone that's joined

Hope everyone's feeling okay, i'm going to have a proper read through everything i've missed tomorrow xxx

Sorry about all the smileys, i got a bit carried away!

IceCube · 27/04/2008 22:05

Wow it's a bit early for a january thread, pushing us off our newly pregnant perches

Who was it asked about my chewing gum habits? I just have a few in the morning to get me going,, although I've just discovered mint humbugs are even better, but I am trying not to have too many empty calories as I'm on the podgy side.

ChutneyMary · 27/04/2008 22:53

Puke central for me today I am afraid. I had to go to Sainsbury's as we are out of everything and the smell of the fish counter, the cooking chickens, the bread was too much. Had to get the emergency carrier bag out of my pocket and breathe deeply, but at least I didn't start retching in the shop. The rest of the day was spent on the sofa with the DDs watching Cbeebies while I had quiet time. Their eyes will be square shortly.

I find boiled sweets a great help. A murray mint or a werther's original can get me through a bad nappy. Am working tomorrow and not looking forward to it. Lots of water and extra strong mints required to get me through. I chain ate sweets through the first 3 months last 2 times so it's a wonder I am not a toothless old crone by now. Icecube, you are very good to do the chewing gum. I find that the sugar in the sweets helps me though. And I am rather plump (no thin jeans for me anymore either) so should watch it.

Am having a scan on Tues now so we'll see how many weeks I am (reckon about 8) and how many nausea weeks remain (reckon about 6 )

See you tomorrow.

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 07:14

Morning.

My friend from the TTC threads is in the January thread. Due on the 2nd!!

I woke up at 3 this morning needing the toilet. Only another 33 weeks of weeing in the middle of the night to go. I'm sure I didn't need the toilet as much this soon with DS.

Is anyone else in maternity or bigger clothes? I have had to wear my old maternity clothes yesterday and today as I don't fit into my normal clothes. The maternity clothes are still a bit big but normal clothes are too small.

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 09:00

Kayz, I'm still early on (about 6 weeks) so no change of clothes yet though I'm in the roomier end of my wardrobe. I found the plain linen skirts from H&M good to warmer weather in the in-between stage last year - they're about a tenner and come in lots of colours, bias cut and knee length and smart enough for work.

Still not too nauseous, am thinking maybe a sign of having a girl? Hmmm. I have had three nosebleeds though - had forgotten that particular drawback of pregnancy, had loads last time as well. I'm also still managing (just) to keep running (well, jogging slowly) and would like to keep on as long as possible as it really helps the general tired and bleurgh feeling (plus I get out of the house and in the fresh air for a bit).

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 09:04

I had no morning sickness with DS but have been feeling nauseous this time round and have been told I am having a girl because I feel sick.

I like the H&M stuff, might go shopping on pay day next week.

My cousin's girlfriend has just found out she is having twins. My friend had twins 10 days ago. So the amount of women I know expecting twins has gone back up to 4. I think I must attract twins. So if anyone wants twins on this thread maybe I am a good omen.

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 09:09

I guess every pg is different.

Saw you thread on BFing Kayz and wanted to say your MIL is a loon . Good on you for trying again with no. 2

Re bfing, I know a few of you with older babies/toddlers are still bfing - are you planning to tandem feed? DS is down to one feed a day and I was thinking of stopping anyway when he's two (a couple of months before my due date). I suppose he might well want to start feeding again with the new baby, which I'm OK with, but I don't want to the feeding two babies constantly! What do you tihnk?

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 09:10

Thanks Effie, She is a loon! I really hope I can BF this baby. Might also help me shed some of the weight I will have put on.

artichokes · 28/04/2008 09:13

Kayz I really don't want twins thank you very much. I am worried about coping with one addition to DD, I will freak out if I get two. Please keep your twin magic away from me . Thanks for your advice about the cramps yesterday. Nothing has happened since so hopefully I got away with it.

Chutney sorry to hear about your sickness. How is your's MissMattie? I have found vinegar stops my nausea - I am practically drinking the stuff . Can't be good for my tum but it really helps... Yesterday I had sooooo much vinegar on my chips that DD cried when she tried one.

I am still in my normal clothes although some of my trousers are a little tighter than normal. I am a size 12 at the mo but I have a wardrobe in size 14 as well because I used to be 14 before DD. I even have a few 16s from just after I had DD. So with that range I am hoping to stay out of maternity wear until I have a really obvious bump. Disenchanted how is your bump coming on. Still adament that there is no more than one in there?

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 09:18

Kayz, you can get lots of great support on here and there are also support lines, cafes and all sorts fof support out there. Unfortunately you have to find it yourself cos no-one tells you

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 09:20

Yeah I have found it since having DS. I am going to ask for lots of help and I am going to make sure I get it.

Have worked out am only 5 weeks. Ah well. Am hoping received wisdom about 2nd pg goign faster is true - how I loathe the first trimester

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 10:14
hattyyellow · 28/04/2008 10:26

Umm, I have twins . They really aren't that bad! In fact, they are lovely .

Although I can see it would be tricky if you had children already!

Am delighted that my morning sickness has kicked in . Feel like I'm on a choppy ocean liner and can't open the fridge without heaving!

Am looking at maternity clothes online - by the end of the day my waistband really hurts - it does feel early though doesn't it? I guess everything stretches so much in your first pregnancy that it's not hard for it all to let go for the second!

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 10:40

No, I just can;t count . Have no clear idea when my last period started , have narrowed it down so I should be dur New Year's eve. First calculation was any time between Xmas Eve and NY Eve - good timing (I THINK NOT)

hattyyellow · 28/04/2008 10:47

Turniphead I have two lovely little girls who are id.

Twins again, that would be a challenge and a half! Was hoping they might give me an early scan this time but the doctor seemed to think my chances were very low of twins again as they are id, so was having none of it..will still be absolutely off the planet nervous on scan day!

Am not listening to radio 2, am listening to magic fm!

Haven't quite got my head around potentially having a Christmas baby - my family like to know months in advance where they're going and who is doing what for Christmas - We're certainly not hosting it!

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 10:54

I keep reminding myself that there are lots of advantages to a winter baby, including not being heavily pg in the summer. But I am a bit concerned about landing up in hospital in the holiday period with 2 bank nurses and a porter

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 11:04

We weren't going to TTC until May time and the thought of having a baby this year is scary. But we decided to try straight away and I know think I would have been terribly impatient if I had to wait until 2009 to have a baby.

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 11:06

well, we had expected it to take a little longer than 2 months, esp as I'm still bfing

kayzisexpecting · 28/04/2008 11:07

I got pg straight away with DS so was hoping I would again but it was the 2nd month of trying. I don't mind a December baby, it'll be a great Xmas present.

JollyBear · 28/04/2008 11:11

Morning all!

It has taken me ages to catch up so must be quick and get back to work...

missmama I phoned bravissimo for fitting advice because DH was going to go to the shop for me. They advised going up a back size because as your rib cage expands you can move to a more loose fastening. It should fasten on the tightest fastening at first in pregnancy. I've gone up a cup size too.

I have been crazily bloated this weekend - only a pair of really loose jogger fitted! It seems a bit better today, fingers crossed. Does anyone know what causes it?

I'm getting the odd bit of nausea but am struggling to brush my teeth even if I feel fine before I start .
