I thought I'd better start another thread as the other one was full to bursting!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kd73 · 27/04/2008 13:37

Thank you, thank you, thank you hattyyellow & mummy2olivia

I am right in the middle of you two (22/12/08) and have no symptoms. Perhaps this is just normal for us right now!

kiskideesameanoldmother · 27/04/2008 13:46

Hi everyone!

I came to at Indith and Verso.

Verso, we were together on the April 05 thread. I used to be Alux. Congratulations. I am on the October 08 thread.

missmama · 27/04/2008 13:55

Hi All

Wanted to ask for some advice from those of you that have already changed bra sizes.
My b(.)(.)bies are so sore and swollen at the moment I am going to have to buy new bras. Did every body just go up a cup size or a back size or both? I dont want to buy some that will only fit for a few weeks before I need new ones again.

kayzisexpecting · 27/04/2008 14:03

I went up 2 back sizes but not cup sizes.

missmama · 27/04/2008 14:09

Thanks Kayz I am an E cup but think I might need an F. But going up 2 back sizes would be simpler.
I will just have to have a day out bra shopping. How tedious

Were you measured or did you just try them on until one was comfy?

kayzisexpecting · 27/04/2008 14:15

I got measured at first but then just tried a few on. For some reason maybe they were training the woman in Marks and Spencers said I need a 30B when I was a 34DD before I got pregnant. Needless to say the bra she got for me to try on didn't fit.

BeckyBendyLegs · 27/04/2008 15:09

I've just had a nap. Total bliss. :-)

I have only changed from a tight 34B to a 36C with a bit of room so far. I went to M&S a couple of weeks ago and although they don't measure you anymore (don't know why) they were quite helpful and gave me a large selection to try on. The worst thing was though seeing myself in the mirror - my stomach has turned to jelly.

kiskideesameanoldmother · 27/04/2008 15:30

october thread? no, i meant september thread.

Indith · 27/04/2008 15:31

PG brain affecting you dear?

kiskideesameanoldmother · 27/04/2008 15:34

yes.

mummy2olivia · 27/04/2008 15:47

Oh KD- thats ok!! Feel a bit crampy again today- hoping its just bean settling into new home a bit further!

Is anyone else still getting the feeling they are about to get their period???!!! It didnt wear off til bout 8 weeks with DD and it sh*ts me up something rotten!!

MaeWest · 27/04/2008 16:28

Bras - I didn't get much bigger last time (apart fom ribcage later on obv) as I am a 'larger' lady. In fact I'd finally got round to getting myself refitted after 18 months of breastfeeding just weeks before I got bfp. I'm now a 30GG but we shall see where next few months take me...

EffiePerine · 27/04/2008 17:29

I thikn i went up in the back size last time to about a 34 or 36 (30/32 usually). Hate maternity bras with a passion - was in those godawful Doreen ones as huge norks (30G pre-pg tho still bf). May have to make a trip to Bravissimo to get something haflway decent.

majormoo · 27/04/2008 17:50

Hi all. Welcome March20 and anyone else who has just joined.

Glad I am not the only one feeling exhausted, irritable and looking really bloated. Oh the joys. We went to a party yesterday daytime with some old friends and lots of kids. Everyone was getting stuck into the wine. I was driving which I am sure would have raised a few eyebrows as DH usually drives when we go to South London as I hate the London traffic.

I was really put off Bravissimo when I had DS. The woman in the shop sold me a bra that at the time I though was tight but she said it would be fine once I had had DS. However, it was still too tight after I had him, and the midwife saw me wearing it and said it would have contributed to my mastitus. I think the woman in the shop just wanted the sale and did not have my size in stock. Anyway rant over.

kayzisexpecting · 27/04/2008 17:59

I cant wait until I am 12 weeks. I really hope this tiredness will leave when I get into the 2nd trimester(sp) maybe my brain will come back too. I cant spell anymore and I never know if I have spelt words right or not.

Katie3677 · 27/04/2008 18:12

On the bra rant, M&S are rubbish at fitting, even when I wasn't pregnant they told me I was two sizes smaller than I am. I went to La Senza a few weeks ago for fitting and they were brilliant. Should have realised then that I was pregnant having gone from a B to a D!

Bisou · 27/04/2008 18:30

Hi everyone! Wow we are a big group now.
Flumpybumpy how are you doing? Did you get everything sorted and find out what the prob was?
Verso, that's great about the scan I was just wondering if you have had bloods taken with your previous history? Here in Australia they test as standard practice for many things (I know, we are so lucky here) and they can pick if you have any probs. Mine picked up that I have an underactive thyroid which can cause MC (I had a MMC prior to this pregnancy) so I'm now on meds for that. Prevention is always the best thing, so might be worth demanding some bloods if you haven't had some done already.
MrsMattie glad you're feeling better with the hyperemisis.
Disenchanted & pixsix I know what you mean about 'fat jeans' not fitting, LOL. I need to go shopping.
LittlePeanut how are you going? I've been worried about you - did the bleeding stop?
snorris hats off to you for #5! My uncle has five girls... Mind you, I'd rather have 5 girls than five boys!
1LittlePrincess and littlemissdaisy I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. I don't know if you are still reading the thread, but if you are look after yourselves and hope you are both coping ok.
sureitsno3 have you done another digital test yet? I really do agree with Disenchanted, minster and rosmerta that it would be the clearest way to know for sure if you are pregnant (apart from a blood test of course). If you are due today (Mon) then hopefully it should work by now, perhaps unless you ovulate late. I got a "PREGNANT" on AF's due date on a digital. It's awful waiting to know for sure isn't it? I feel for you.
snowwombat nice to have another Auzzie here, there are 3 of us now! I was looking at the Royal Womans hospital, but I think now I might be in Canberra as my mum lives there and is a registered midwife. There are a few options here for antenatal care, this link may be of use.
IceCube, it's true that tiredness can be caused by an iron deficiency, but it can also be other from things (apart from the normal pregnany tiredness). Supposedly the underactive thyroid I've been diagnosed with can also be a cause, and I've been feeling a little less tired since taking my meds for it. Are you on a pregnancy multivitamin that has iron in it? Lots of the pregnancy tablets include all the things you need (including folic acid) so perhaps have a look at those. Might be good for you too ChutneyMary - taking more than one tablet can get annoying can't it? Does everyone know that it's recommended that pregnant women take (at least) folic acid suppliments? I'm probably stating the obvious but probably better to mention it than not
JollyBear thanks for sharing your positive quotes. They keep me from worrying too much
abbymeg glad to hear your midwife was competent after having such an awful doctor. Sometimes I wonder why people become doctors when they have such a lack of respect for the feelings of their fellow human beings! Perhaps seeing people who are often at their worst (ie; sick) does that to you over time? Still, it's no excuse!
Verso, when I'm feeling a bit nauseous, I try water first, then resort to my fav of the moment which is rice/corn cakes with some shavings of lovely vintage cheddar on top! yum. Oh and I like celery too. I'm trying to keep my snacks relatively healthy, which is hard when sometimes you just don't feel like anything that's in the fridge...
Annagt and some of the others, I am jealous that you are all enjoying peppermint tea! I love it so much. I am too scared to drink it though after reading a university web page on how it is not recommended for people with a history of MC, but then I am probably being paranoid.
IceCube how much gum are you going through? Watch out for that too, as it can act as a laxative if you have too much! heehee. Sorry if TMI!

In other news I finally spewed! I was happy for about 30 seconds, but then after having my head over the loo again another 2 times, I didn't think it was so great anymore . The nausea actually woke me up this morning, and it was weird throwing up because there was nothing but some stomach acids to come up. Again sorry if TMI! I was 7+3 for those who are keeping tabs on when others' spewing started (although I'd had tinges of nausea for several days before).
Sorry for the super huge post, hope everyone is well! And welcome and congrats to the new ladies too

rosmerta · 27/04/2008 18:53

hi all, hope you're all well and hello to anyone who's joined us!

Re bras, hate M&S, they've never measured me properly but Bravissimo have always been good.

Haven't been on in a couple of days. I'm doing a presentation in my tutorial tomorrow so have been panicking a bit about that & getting everything finished.

Will catch up properly in a while!

abbymeg · 27/04/2008 19:12

Hello March29 Bisou Am most impressed with your mega-post! I'm going to see the consultant tomorrow. The midwife warned me that I have to be ready to fight my case there too as they're not always sympathetic either. Am taking DH as backup. Youn would think that people who deal with pregnant women day in, day out would be on their best behaviour for fear of hormone induced upset or rage .

Hatty and Mummy2Olivia I was worrying about lack of symptoms too until I spoke to my mum, who told me about how she'd been really pleased when expecting me because she'd only had the odd twinge, until she got to 8 weeks and was sick as a dog for the rest of the first trimester. She said it was the same for all three of her pregnancies. Then I cast my mind back to DD and realised I wasn't sick with her until 8 weeks, then I was pretty bad. I'm going to try to enjoy the next couple of weeks, and not use them as an excuse to stock up on pizza and chocolate calories for the torment to come .

Verso · 27/04/2008 19:16

Bisou yes I had loads of blood tests after my last m/c. They took about ten vials of blood and have tested me for everything including antiphospholipid syndrome and other autoimmune disorders. Thankfully everything came back normal... which is great, but also means there's no explanation for my two m/cs. I haven't had any blood tests yet this pg - but my booking appointment with the midwife is in a couple of weeks' time so I daresay I'll get them then.

Kiskidee/Alux - hello!!! How nice of you to remember me!!! >waves<

Nothing else to report here except sick sick sick - without the actual vomiting. I've got to the point now where I almost wish I knew how to make myself sick as I think I would feel a bit better. Bleurgh! I was wiping DD's bot earlier this evening after a rather spectacular poo and it was very difficult not to spew... how do those of you with them closer together manage with nappies and morning sickness?!!!! (R.E.S.P.E.C.T.)

artichokes · 27/04/2008 19:18

Hi all

Welcome newbies.
MissMattie - I am so glad your sickness improved this weekend. You are a few weeks ahead of me but I hope I start to feel better at 9 weeks. Last time it lasted to 17 weeks.

OK guys. I have a question and might have to provide TMI... Have any of found that sex, and particularly the big 'O', brings on really bad abdominal cramps??? This happened to me today (I felt DH deserved some rewards after putting up with my sickness, lethargy and general misery). The cramps were really intense and although they have gone now, and there was no blood, I am paranoid I might have done some damage. Has anyone else had this? Should I wait until after 12 weeks before risking similar?

kayzisexpecting · 27/04/2008 19:21

It hasn't happened to me but I'm sure someone who I was on TTC with said it had happened to her. I will ask her for you Artichokes.

kayzisexpecting · 27/04/2008 19:29

Just asked her and its normal. It is to do with increased blood flow.

tm2 · 27/04/2008 20:29

Hi, hope it's OK if I join, am due 26 Dec (wow sounds so amazing but also weird typing that!! ) and have been lurking on here for a while - we've been trying for 16 months and finally it's happened! I know I'm just a lurker rather than a post-er but MN has been such a huge support over those seemingly endless weeks TTC I thought I should finally post now I have some good news! Am over the moon - not at all sick yet though, except for one night when I ended up on the kitchen floor thinking I was going to die - but v sore boobs and pretty tired (and no AF obviously). Am really wanting to feel sick so I know everything is ok - how nuts is that?! SO hope everything is going to be OK - and for you all of course. Happy happy times! (And much knicker-checking tee hee!) x

georgiepig · 27/04/2008 20:34

Hello everyone. I've been really bad at posting lately as I've been rushed off my feet at work, but have tried to follow the thread anyway . I can't believe how many of us there are now!!!

I have just hit 6 weeks and the sickness has well and truly kicked in! I'm sitting here chain-eating grapes.....Roll on 12 weeks I say
