I thought I'd better start another thread as the other one was full to bursting!

OP posts:

HELLOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I'm back!!

I haven't read through so I will say hello to any newcomers!!

I had a great time in London. It did feel wierd not being able to come on here every evening though.

So how is everyone?

Katie3677 · 25/04/2008 07:45

Feeling a little less panicky today after first decent nights sleep since BFP. You wise women are all absolutely right. There is more chance of giving birth to a healthy baby in Dec than having another miscarriage, so I have resolved to let go and not think about it until scan next week.
Also beginning to get to grips with this MS, now that I have realised that often the nausea is brought on by being hungry. So now, whenever I feel sick, I eat. Great excuse!
Hope everyone else is well.

mibbes · 25/04/2008 08:15

Morning ladies ! kayz glad you missed us !
nandos my GP told EDD is 30/11 and MW said 29/11 (I think she took leap yesr into consideration) but I have longer cycles too so am convonced 2-3/12 is actual date

Annagt · 25/04/2008 09:12

Katie I'm with you- I think the nausea comes when I'm hungry- I'm having a good morning although I feel like I could have slept for the whole day. Hopefully it will stay this way?

nandos · 25/04/2008 10:23

Good morning !

Feeling so tired at this time already. Loads of things to pack as we are moving out end of the month.
Dont even have energy at night and lately have not been able to sleep comfortably due to tummy discomfort.
I think its a bad idea after all to move out now when i cant even carry anything cos' most of the things are very heavy in our house

BeckyBendyLegs · 25/04/2008 10:26

The nausea for me definitely comes when I am hungry. It is such hard work eating all day (I'm sitting here munching grapes) especially running around after two other children.

I was woken this morning at 6am by DH to help him rescue next-door-but-one's cat who had fallen off our garden gate and hurt herself. Poor thing.

kayzisexpecting · 25/04/2008 10:47

I'm feeling a bit sick this morning. DH is in the bath so I'm hoping I just feel sick and I'm not going to be sick.

I have a real craving for jaffa cakes and hot chocolate not together though. Might send DH over to the shop to get some.

abbymeg · 25/04/2008 11:03

Hello all

chinchi sorry about the car - it's a horrible thing to happen anyway, nevermind in early pg.

Kayzi did you buy anything for the baby? You said you were planning to have a look in London?

After the horrible doctors appt on monday (that I posted about), the outcome was to make an early midwife appt for next friday. However, she rang me yesterday to cancel it, and I told her what had happened - gp telling me that I'd put pregnancy in danger with general anesthetic, that I'll be lucky to get to twelve weeks - and she was surprised I hadn't been refered to an obstetric consultant. So, she's asked me to go in today instead, to kind of book in - although I'm only 5+2 - so she can refer me. I'm pleased on the one hand because a consultant will either tell me there's nothing to worry about, or hopefully get me monitored more closely. However, it does mean she feels the situation is serious, and I'm still worried I've harmed the baby .

MrsMattie · 25/04/2008 11:05

Hi all. Still lurching from feeling sick to feeling extremely sick. Now 8 weeks pregnant. Just want to get the next 4 weeks out the way, in the hope that I will start to feel better in the second trimester (and if not at least I'll get another look at the little bean!)

kayzisexpecting · 25/04/2008 11:06

No we didn't Abby but we did look in the Mamas and Papas on Oxford street. Its so nice in there. Found some nice maternity clothes to buy for my holiday in July.

I hope your appt goes well today. My friend had a general anesthetic whilse she was pg and her baby was fine. She'd been in a car crash and needed an emergancy operation.

BeckyBendyLegs · 25/04/2008 11:11

I find jaffa cakes very comforting, and hot chocolate.

I've just heard about next-door-but-one's cat. We think someone's car hit her sometime in the night and they just dumped her in our garden as she has hurt her spine quite badly in line with a car injury. Apparently she's not good and it is touch and go. Pregnancy hormones have made me very upset about this. Poor little thing.

My youngest is sitting next to me watching Bod on DVD. Here comes Aunt Flo, here comes PC Copper. Oh the memories!

artichokes · 25/04/2008 11:25

Gah - I feel sooooo sick today. I seem to be in pattern where every other day my sickness is terrible and in between I have days that are just about manageable. MissMattie you said the Dr offered you anti-nausea drugs. Are there drugs you can take for MS that don't endanger the baby?????

Welcome back Kayz .

EffiePerine · 25/04/2008 12:24

When did your MS start? Have avoided anything other than mild nausea so far but am only 4 or 5 weeks.

Katie3677 · 25/04/2008 12:57

Mine stareted on Wednesday and I am either 5 or 7 weeks. Haven't actually been physically sick yet, just feeling nauseous all the time

hattyyellow · 25/04/2008 13:06

Ohhhh..will stop feeling paranoid now! Had completely missed this thread (pregnant brain) and was worrying I had killed the whole thread.

Thanks for all the lifting toddlers answers! One of my girls is being great at walking, the other who is more clingy is wanted to be lifted more than ever now she knows there is a baby in my tummy "baby go away" is her most popular retort!

Chutney I'm dealing with the three children thing by pure denial "la la la can't hear you" type thing.

I haven't got my booking appointment until I am ten and a half weeks! And even that was due to me pestering as they wanted to do it at 12 weeks!

Does the doctor tell the hospital or does the midwife book you in for dating scan? I'm worried that there won't be time to book me in and I don't think I can face going over 12 weeks before I know that the baby's okay and that there's onlyone in there!

Last time around I didn't have any of the triple blood/cvs type tests as it's hard to do with twins - so I'm a novice at it all. Can anyone tell me when they need to be done? Will I have time if my booking in is so late?

EffiePerine · 25/04/2008 13:20

Last time my booking in was at 10 weeks and the mw booked the scan. They took bloods at the same time if I remember.

MrsMattie · 25/04/2008 13:23

artichokes - yes, apparently there are several types of anti-nausea drug that are safe in pregnancy. I'm not risking it, though. I just keep thinking about thalidomide , although doctor looked at me like I was mad when I said that. I have to go with my instincts, though, eh?

Your pattern of sickness sounds like mine - a day of absolute deathly roughness, followed by a day of nausea and tiredness and awfulness, but am able to function on some level. Still horrible, though, isn't it?

jenduck · 25/04/2008 14:07

Hello. Can I join you please? I've just been introduced to Mumsnet by my sister (who is also pregnant) so this is my very first post - so please be nice!

Anyway, to introduce myself, I am 7+1 weeks pregnant, due on 11th December & very excited about all this! I am 30, hubby is 31, he is also very excited & spoiling me rotten!

MaeWest · 25/04/2008 14:11

Hi jenduck - welcome to MN and congrats on your pregnancy

Anyone else feeling really weepy - any news item vaguely family/baby related brings a tear to my eye. Seem to remember I was like this last time, one particular advert that was showing (over Christmas) for some dogs home, lots of sad looking dogs, had me in floods

Cheers Effie re the scan booking in info.

I am not so much emotional as stroppy and irritable.

Some poor cyclist was stuck in front of me around a very bendy road with no space to overtake for aggggggeees earlier. I was so ratty about it when I'd normally be quite calm - I kept trying to think of my blood pressure and do calm happy breathing!

I was mrs zen last time with my two girls, nothing bothered me -i just smiled vaguely at people pushing in front of me - maybe it's a boy this time and I've got lots of testosterone in me!

kayzisexpecting · 25/04/2008 15:41

Yes Maewest I was nearly in tears when we went round the Tower of London when the beefeater doing the tour was talking about those 2 boy princes. I really had to hold it in so I didn't look like an idiot.

Charliesmum22 · 25/04/2008 15:51

Hello! Please can I join too? Just discovered that antenatal threads exist - must have had my eyes closed...

Am 6+5, due on 14th Dec - feeling fine so far! Bit dizzy and tired but no real sickness. Have had bad indigestion though! With ds (14 months) I was v sick most of the way through, starting at 5 weeks so am a bit stressed out that I don't feel sick with this one... Fingers crossed things are okay!

kayzisexpecting · 25/04/2008 16:02

Hello Charliesmum!! Congratulations!

I am due on the 14th too!!!

Charliesmum22 · 25/04/2008 16:06
