Wonderful news nibbles I like all this happy news we're getting today!

southernbelle77 · 16/05/2008 13:12

I'm so pleased everything is ok Verso and Mibbles, that's great.

I got my scan date through this morning! It's on Friday 13th June - good job I'm not supersticious!! 4 weeks today - it's going to be the longest 4 weeks ever I think!

rosmerta · 16/05/2008 13:28

pixsix · 16/05/2008 14:15

Woooo hooooo Mibbes and Verso!!
I'm so happy for you both, I can't stop smiling
I CAN'T WAIT for my scan, 27th May seems like a lifetime away. 11 days to go.....

I hope everyone has wonderful weekends. x

pixsix · 16/05/2008 14:16

Crossed posts Katie, congrats to you too!

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/05/2008 14:30

More happy news

I'm struggling to stay awake in front of my poorly laptop. My eyelids are drooping..zzzzz.

hattyyellow · 16/05/2008 14:33

Huge huge congrats everyone on successful scans - I'm so happy they all went well.

I want a scan date! Am I right in thinking that the midwife books you in for it at your booking in appointment?

Becky I am struggling like mad too! I am so so tired and have to finish a piece of work by the end of day. Just want to lie down somewhere quiet and sleep. This phase does pass doesn't it?!

hattyyellow · 16/05/2008 14:34

ps Jollybear where are you? Is everything okay?

kayzisexpecting · 16/05/2008 14:37

I'm glad everyone's scans have gone well. Mine is the 30th May and it seems so far away still.

EffiePerine · 16/05/2008 14:42

Great news Katie

EffiePerine · 16/05/2008 14:42

Kayz: it's this month! Not too far at all

we're already in the middle of May...

kayzisexpecting · 16/05/2008 14:45

I know Effie! Its 2 weeks away today. Just seems so long though I suppose in the grand scheme of things its not that far away considering its like 30 weeks until I'm due to give birth

Verso · 16/05/2008 14:51

hattyyellow my scans so far were booked by my consultant due to previous m/cs, but if I remember rightly from DD, they're usually booked by the midwife. Have you had your booking appt yet?

rosmerta · 16/05/2008 14:51

kayz know how you feel, my scan's next week & even that feels ages away!

katie am so pleased for you about your scan

hattyyellow · 16/05/2008 14:54

Cheers Verso no I'm just turning 9 weeks and my booking in appt is at 10.5 weeks. Feels a million years away!

Last time around had my booking in at 8 weeks which made it much easier to get scan date early!

So so pleased all was okay for you at your scan .

mibbes · 16/05/2008 15:44

Katie hurray for the third successful scan today ! We did the treble !
Ladies, your scans will be here before you know it - I felt like this past week has whizzed by, perhaps because I was so scared. Why is it when you are excited time drags and when you are worried it zooms !
Do you think 10+6 is too early for a 12 week scan ? The MW I saw after the scan said that she thought they may have offered me another in a fortnight to check all still ok...? One of my friends got a 2nd one after her dates were earlier than expected...? Maybe I should just sit tight and be glad this one was ok. Also I'm sure that friends usually have several different pics of their baby - I just got several copies of 1 pic (which wasn't particularly clear), I got 1 free and had to pay £1 each for the others.
Och well beany is alive and happy and I love my blurry photo because it is my wee bean !

mibbes · 16/05/2008 15:47

hatty I had booking appt at 6-7 weeks and the MW sent off details for the hospital to book scan - which would've been at 12 weeks if I had a 28 day cycle.
DP says he is going to ask his parents what the plans are for xmas this year then tell them that we'll be having an extra guest and present them with the scan pic ! He has obviously put a lot of thought into breaking the news, bless !

hattyyellow · 16/05/2008 16:00

Cheers Mibbes. You're making me well up with your happiness! What a lovely way to tell your in-laws too .

The thing that's doing my head in with the scan (as well as obsessing whether everything is okay and how many babies I'm carrying this time!) is that it's so complicated for us both to go to things together with two toddlers and our own businesses. We need about a year's warning to do anything generally and if we need someone to look after our toddlers about a decade's notice! I'm just praying it'll be on a day that DH is around and not away with work and can come with me - I don't think I could do it alone. So I'd like a bit more notice than the week I think I'm going to get for when the date is! Phew, rant over!

I am madly craving cornish pasties! What is it with this meat and potatoes craving!? I haven't had a cornish pasty for years!

abbymeg · 16/05/2008 16:31

Mibbes lovely news, congratualtions. I think the second scan depends on the generosity of the NHS in your area! I had a scan at 7 weeks and 1 day; because it was over 7 weeks they treated it as a dating scan. My next NHS scan is at 20 weeks. They don't do nuchal scans in my area (the twelve week scan is just for dating). I've had to book a private one as I'm still worried about my pregnancy progressing okay, and the gap between 7 and 20 weeks is quite a large one!

Ooooh me too! A hot steaming pasty eaten out of a paper bag, fresh from the oven, with golden pastry. Yum.

hattyyellow · 16/05/2008 17:53

Am no closer to my beloved cornish pasty - the only place that might do one is a grotty service station about 30 minutes drive away and it'd probably give me food poisoning!

I want someone to rock up and cook something really wholesome and hearty like an Irish stew. Am working late so no time to cook anything so DH is cooking, which means a very basic pasta - lovely of him to do it but just not what I want.

Am seriously obsessed with food at the moment! And we only seem to have really dull stuff in which is probably due to me feeling queasy and not like eating anything last week when I did the online order!

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/05/2008 18:13

Ooooh I want to eat stew now as well. I want my grandma's 'raggle taggle' stew as she called it now! It was a lamb stew that we used to eat when I was little with fresh crusty bread and butter.

I have got so much work to do at the moment it is untrue. So much so I am being the queen of procrastination this week. We've just got back from Sainsbury's and I find doing the food shop with two small children really stressful. Our local Sainsbury's is absolutely huge as well and it was packed this afternoon. I feel like a holiday in the sun now (lying on the beech eating a cornish pasty?)!
