I thought I'd better start another thread as the other one was full to bursting!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kayzisexpecting · 08/05/2008 18:05

Sorry Becky I am maybe the baby of the group being only 22.

My mum was more a 70's child and she loved the Bay City Rollers, but liked Duran Duran when they came out. But when I got into Duran Duran she decided to relive her youth.

BeckyBendyLegs · 08/05/2008 18:33

Kayz - good on her! I hope that when my children are going to concerts I will want to go with them. I'd love that!

rosmerta · 08/05/2008 20:08

evening all,

charliesmum am so sorry, hope you have some great support around you

hanni welcome to the thread!

kayz am so pleased for you with the scan!

bisou ikwym about wanting a scan, I would've loved to have an early scan but it was a bit out of our budget & I now only have 2 weeks to wait anyway.

jollybear I'm pleased you're feeling a little better. I know its hard to take medicine when you're pregnant but its more important for you to be able to eat & keep your strength up.

Hormones seem to have kicked in with me now, I was getting really impatient with ds this afternoon which wasn't very nice or fair on him as he wasn't doing anything different. Just me being really irrational. I'll have to try & make it up to him somehow tomorrow.

monkeydops · 08/05/2008 20:38

Hi all, back again and soz it's been a while. Am feeling massive - am sure dates are all wrong and I'm further on than 7 1/2 weeks. Also feeling flutters and so on - is this normal earlier in 2nd pg? (and this early?!). Is it just cos I'm feeling sick and eating loads....

Verso · 08/05/2008 21:20

charliesmum I'm really really sorry . Give yourself time and be kind to yourself. It's so hard.

southernbelle I had bad spd with DD from about 20 weeks - but none so far this time (touch wood). I had physio and a support belt but the only thing that really helped was giving birth. If you find something that works let me know as I'm sure I'll get it this time too.

I've had to get bigger bras too - and tried to get some supportive ones for night time but to no avail. I have an aversion to the Mothercare 'sleep' bras as I ended up wearing them forever with DD as I BF for a year but stylish they are NOT. So far I've got away with buying a couple of sets of nice undies for daytime and am grinning and bearing it at night...

Sooooooooooooo bloated though. Or am I really really showing?! Am HUGE!!! Help! I have another couple of weeks before I can tell work. Any suggestions?

Midwife booking appointment tomorrow - so I should get my notes...

artichokes that's great news about the scan! (and that it isn't triplets... or quads...! )

turniphead everything I've read says brown bleeding is fine - but I think you should phone NHS Direct or your GP (if you can wait until tomorrow) just to put your mind at rest. (I had brown spotting at eight weeks with DD and was fine, by the way. I'm not sure how many weeks you are?)

Verso · 08/05/2008 21:21

(P.S. My boss knows - but no one else at work... yet)

mibbes · 08/05/2008 21:36

artichokes great the bean growning well
OK I had to ask - silly first-timer question... what is SPD ?
I'm off to Belfast to see Kylie at the end of June
welcome and congrats Hanni22anni kayz HURRAY for heartbeat and it makes me feel old that your mum remembers Duran Duran from first time around - so do I !
Hi Bisou I love your posts ! I have also only spewed once too but have heaved quite a few times (twice running for the bus !). Did a big heave tonight scraping leftovers from dinner plates - eeuugghh, DP looked at me as if I was mental ! Oh and you want to see the pasty bodies that are revealed here in Scotland when the sun shines - just as well it doesn't happen often !
Becky LOL at kitcen floor-licking ! I definitely wouldn'y lick mine !

rosmerta · 08/05/2008 21:44

verso don't know if you're showing or not but a couple of times now I've had really bad bloating that's made me look about 4 months pregnant! Its usually gone once I've laid down and tried to rest a bit. I found with me that it seems to be caused by eating lots of junk food (she says scoffing a pizza ). Anyway, hth

mibbes spd is symphysis pubis dysfunction, basically because your ligaments are loosening up so your pelvis can move around a little when you're giving birth, this plus the weight of the baby means your pelvis can separate slightly at the front and can be very painful. I did have it with ds but fortunately only very mildly, made it sore to get out of bed & get dressed mainly.

kayzisexpecting · 08/05/2008 21:45

I think I have asked this already but no one is answering my thread in pregnancy. But is anyone else starving? I am so bloody hungry and I feel like I'm eating for 20 not 2.

rosmerta · 08/05/2008 21:46

kayz I am also hungry more but have found having more smaller meals through the day helps a lot, so that I don't end up eating rubbish.

kayzisexpecting · 08/05/2008 21:47

I might have to try that. Thanks rosmerta

bcsnowpea · 09/05/2008 02:39

Thank you all for the well wishes, but I'm afraid it's not good news. The ultrasound yesterday showed that I had a missed miscarriage. Poor little bean has been gone for four weeks, but I've only just now started spotting. I'm so sad, and now I have to start telling people, and everytime I just start crying. I don't know how so many people found out, I was really trying not to let it get away from me.

So I guess that's it for me on this thread. I'll keep lurking, if you don't mind, I'm still really excited to see how you all get on, and maybe sometime soon I'll have a new announcement. We can always hope.

kayzisexpecting · 09/05/2008 06:25

bcsnowpea I am so so sorry!! Look after yourself and we don't mind if you keep lurking. Take care.

southernbelle77 · 09/05/2008 06:45

I'm really sorry bcsnowpea. I hope you have lots of support.

I'm probably being paranoid this morning but I'm not really feeling nauseous at the moment and I keep getting this dull ache in the base of my stomach and I'm really scared something is wrong. Am I being silly to go and buy another set of tests just to make sure? (have already done about 7 tests since my first bfp

southernbelle77 · 09/05/2008 06:55

Oh, and I'm also feeling really hungry at the moment. I went for a few weeks of not really wanting anything to eat, but now I've gone the other way completely! Really need to be healthy though as I'm now paranoid about my bmi after reading a thread in pregnancy!

bcsnowpea · 09/05/2008 07:01

southernbelle, go and have a chat with your doctor. The test will only show if you have hcg in your system still, but the doc can order comparative blood tests over a few days to make sure your hcg is increasing. Peace of mind.

Verso · 09/05/2008 07:33

Oh bcsnowpea I'm so sorry to hear that. I have had two missed m/cs and it's just devastating .

rosmerta thanks for the tip re junk food . I don't think I've been that bad, but it's true that sometimes all I want for dinner is white bread and butter . Anything else makes me feel sick. I feel I should get a gold star for last night though - salad!

I have "what to expect" though and it does take it a bit TOO far... that chapter about nutrition with "double the milk" shakes etc can make you paranoid!

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/05/2008 08:17

bcsnowpea I'm so sorry. I also had a missed MC so I know how awful it feels. I've only ever seen DH cry twice and once was when this happened to us. Take really good care of yourself xxx.

Disenchanted · 09/05/2008 09:26

Sorry bcsnowpea Thinking of you xxx

Disenchanted · 09/05/2008 09:27

I really can't stop eating

If I don't eat for just a few hours I feel sick, last night I had chips, egg fried rice and curry for tea then had a cheese sandwich and then tomatoes on toast for supper!!

Im going to be massssive by the time baby arrives!!

EffiePerine · 09/05/2008 09:32

Southernbelle: my nausea has drpped as well and am similarly paranoid. Am thinking if symptoms decrease more over the weekend I might go to GP just in case

I do havea cold at the moment, so that might be masking things a bit. Plus this pg feels very different to my last, so hard to tell what is normal .

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/05/2008 10:05

I can't stop eating either, same problem, I feel sick if I let myself get too hungry. My sicky feelings vary quite a lot in intensity day by day and when I feel relatively well I start to worry too if it goes on more than one or two days. Pregnancy is so stressful. I think if you are worried Effie Perine it is definitely worth going to visit your GP even if it is just for reassurance.

Last night I felt really sick as I think I'd been overdoing it yesterday cleaning the house for the in-laws. I was watching 'Brothers and Sisters' and they were pouring wine (they are always drinking wine on that programme) and the sound of the glug, glug of the wine bottle nearly made me gag.

DS2 has just pulled all the wipes out of a brand new packet of wipes! I've only got him with me this morning as DS1 is at preschool and DS2 really misses DS1 and easily gets bored. I'm sitting here eating grapes.

Moneydrops apparently feeling movement early on is a sign it could be twins (or more). Any chances do you think??

I feel fluttery feelings too but it is just wind in my case.

I'd love to see Kyle too.
