I was thinking of maybe Katie Isabella Smart (surname)

KIS!!

Cxx

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 22/04/2008 11:44

that's nice carey, I like it

northeastmummy · 22/04/2008 11:45

Katie Isabella is a beautiful name Carey. We've decided on a name which will give our LO the initials HOT!!

KnitterInTheNW · 22/04/2008 11:47

me too.

While I'm here, I'd like to boast that I got a 5 hour stint at sleeping last night. Then flew out of bed and prodded him awake to make sure he was ok!

TheMaskedPoster · 22/04/2008 11:54

Congrats Soph - well done my girl! xxx

Carey - Katie Isabella Smart is a beautiful name, and love the initial thing too

Carey87 · 22/04/2008 11:55

LOL at Knitter!!! I didnt think that 5 hour stints existed once lo's were born I dont even get that now and he/she isnt even here! Jammy git

Carey87 · 22/04/2008 11:56

Just thought - we havent heard from Sagitta in ages!!!

TheMaskedPoster · 22/04/2008 11:59

LOL Knitter .. I do that too. Wish for Olivia to sleep longer than 3-4 hours, only to sit and watch the clock (unable to settle) until she wakes for a feed when she does ... kind of defeats the purpose . Am slowly adjusting to her snuffles and cries and sometimes manage to sleep even when she is amping after a feed - not for long though.

Had her weighed again this morning and the little trooper is still doing well and is now 8 pounds 13, so the TMP camp is a happy one .

Denny185 · 22/04/2008 12:05

Congratulations Soph

Carey like all those names least keen on Oliver.

Scorpio glad the BF still going well, Millie looks v happy.

Peachy could you send Ellie a text to let her know I have flat nipples and managed to Bf all 3. I had a really good MW with DS and it made life so much easier once taught the 'exaggerated' latch on technique, still have tendancy to blister but just have to be a bit more careful with positioning.

Knitter at sleep, evn if DD2 slept that long at the mo I dont think I would as its like sleeping next to a pig the noisey little blighter!

PortAndLemon · 22/04/2008 12:07

DD is sleeping really well and I often get 6-hour stretches at night. I think I deserve this on some cosmic/karmic level after what DS was like as a baby, though...

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 22/04/2008 12:10

DS4 sleps at night and needs waking for feeds. He will only ever sleep- or indeed not scream full stop- if in physical contact with me or DH though (as DH back to work tonight could be hard going!), there's no way of getting him to be quiet in a pram / cot / car seat etc etc

KnitterInTheNW · 22/04/2008 12:12

I'm off to catch the bus into town to meet the other mums & babies from our NCT classes. It's funny, 6 out of 7 babies born, their names are
Alex
Benjamin
Charlie

Ethan
Freya
George

No pressure on the final pg lady to call her baby a D name!!!!

PortAndLemon · 22/04/2008 12:15

Although it is very sloppy of you all not to have had them in order (or at least reverse order)

TLSM · 22/04/2008 12:20

Oh congrats Soph pics of Sam when your able Also remember there is lots of support here if you need it x

Is it bad that I got up at 11.30 saying that I have been up most of the night with belly ache thinking oh id this it but no just belly ache! I am starting to get depressed and I am not even due until Sat one good thing is that because of the D&V and back ache I have an appointment with the consultant on Friday to book my induction so hopefully that will be early next week! although my FIL PROMISED I would have this one today! not feeling it myself though

Knitter thats an improvement! although I must say if my DS (who will be 4 in June) doesnt wake up at 7 I start to panic still!

Why are some Midwives old witches there are always a few on every ward it seems hopfully Ellie will get a new one come on shift soon who will be good at her job! one of my good friends had her DS a few weeks ago and has the same problem she has been advised to use nipple shields to begin with like someone else meantioned nothing is impossible it will just take a little more time hopfully Ellie can get a good BF con who can help.

Right best I go have a bath and get dressed oh can I add my DS is staying with my mum havent just left him to it until 11.30 gosh could you imagine what my house would look like

sagitta · 22/04/2008 12:38

Hi all - sorry I haven't been on for a while - no news, (which is good in my book!).

Congratulations Soph, Scampmum and Scorpio - I was thinking of you all weekend Scorpio - and Millie is gorgeous. Almost makes me want one! Well done on the BFing. And Scamp - sorry about long labour, but lovely that she's here now. Very good name (very similar to DD's). And Soph - I thought you'd be with me at the end of the list - I feel cheated Congratulations on Sam, I hope you are as upbeat as Peachy mentioned. Looking forward to the pics...

And congrats Paranoidmummy.
Had my mum here cleaning and sorting out baby stuff and doing my nesting for me, which has been great. It's my first real day of maternity leave, which is all a bit odd.

Sorry to hear you're still under the weather PFJ. Hope Knitter's easter bunny can cheer you a little...

TLSM · 22/04/2008 12:43

Sagitta I am very impressed your first day on ML your due on Saturday!

VictorianSqualor · 22/04/2008 12:55

Congrats soph, I know nothing about DS and don't want to sound patronising so I'll just say we're here for you if you need us.

Scorpio she is gorgeous I bet the little princess will be incr5edibly spoilt being the only girl (I think that's how Ella sees it)

ellie as I'm sure you've gathered the mw is talking utter rot. Something like 1-2% of women can't breastfeed, a hell of a lot more have flat nipples sod her, just get straight to the BFC's. If no-one has helped you by the time you get out and you can't get LO latched on try to hand express as much as possible to keep your supply going so it isnt as hard when the BFC gets to you. peachy could you text her the number of the helplines so she can call for help asap if they arent going to help her??

Sleep.....hmm...Alex seems to be like me, the morning is his fave time, he feeds most of the evning, probably from about 7/8pm to at least 11-12 then we go to bed and he latchs on for about ten minutes ad goes to sleep, only to wake up fretting at 1:30, then feed/sleeps without waking me til about 4/5 and then sleeps through til about 11am so DP has been doing everything in the morning with DD and leaving DS1 in bed, I'm awake from about 10am staring at Alex willing him to wake up I'm actually not tired at all, which is great having a week old baby!!

VictorianSqualor · 22/04/2008 12:58

Oh also, I think Katie Isabella is lovely, they were both names we would have considered except DP's cousin is Isabella and as she is only 3 she is more like a first cousin to the DC's than a second iyswim, when the kids in the family are named its' the cousin and my DC's.
Quite strange actually the cousins are Daniel and Isabella, I have Danni-Ella and if Bobby was a girl would have had Isabella.

I also love Oliver, would've been a first choice if it wasn't DP's brothers name.

sagitta · 22/04/2008 13:11

TLSM - am in total denial . Have booked to go away to wedding, staying in B&B etc this weekend....Definitely not having baby yet!

Can't wait to hear from Ellie. Hope she's OK. Aren't some MWs stupid?

TLSM · 22/04/2008 13:55

I love the name Katie but that could be because I'm Katie well Cate now as at 13 i felt Katie wasnt grown up enough as you do at that age! I also love the name george but that may have to do with the huge crush I have had on George Clooney for the passed 15 years

Sagitta good on you here I am willing him out and there you are willing yours in.... We are due on the sameday! I really wish I was more like you but I cant seem to help myself I wake up thinking right I am doing nothing to try and get him out today then eat a pineapple for breakfast

ThePFJ · 22/04/2008 14:08

Hope Ellie is ok.. someone mentioned a BF alert..
Ellie its really really hard to start with.
Now I am on bottles and breast top ups. It's the best I can do, and at least Jack has been getting the breast when I can.

And why the hell do babies think its funny to be awake and whingy ALL NIGHT???!!
Someone please please tell my little Jack its more fashionable to be up during the day!!!
MW says he'll become awake more in the day from 6-8 weeks... but I swear I'll be DEAD by then!! LOL

Have started trying to nap in the day when he's asleep.

This whole being-a-mum lark is not as easy as it looks huh?

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 22/04/2008 14:16

ellie update- she's on a drip to speed up but they expect her to deliver in next few hours

she sends soph her congrats- and hopes dondons delivering too

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 22/04/2008 14:18

vs- putting together e-mail info for ellie, will make sure helplines included

DonDons · 22/04/2008 14:23

yay Ellie!

Peachy - can you tell her the spotlight is all hers - no movements here!

oooooh sooooo exciting!!!

VictorianSqualor · 22/04/2008 14:27

PFJ, I may be totally off the mark and tell me to f off if I am, but how are you feeling? generally? I just remember how hard it can be especially when its not all going as you wished/expected and i'd hate for you to get pnd that went left undiagnosed.
