Hi everyone! I forgot about the whirlwind that is the first week after having a baby. I can't believe Hope will be a week old tomorrow. It feels like yesterday (unfortunately ... ouch!).

Soph - it's so good to hear from you. I hope the tests go ok. It sounds like LO is being very lovely to you.

Sorry that some of you are still having a frustrating time of it. One things for sure for all of you ... it won't be long! Easy for me to say I know. Sending you lots of labour vibes.

ThePFJ · 02/05/2008 21:32

Hi everyone. Loved your pics NEmummy

Got my cats swabbed for MRSA today, via the backs of their throats.. they didnt like that I can tell you!!

Little Jack continues fine, Monday should be the last day we visit the hospital for his antibiotics.

Good Luck all those still waiting to give birth.

bigbadmom · 02/05/2008 23:01

Eva, sorry about your sweep not happening. And Carey - arrrrgh - frustration! Keep away from the topsoil. Your endeavours made me laugh and feel very impressed. And everyone else waiting, esp Mum2B and Moomin I understand the frustrating feel. I had a show three hours after my sweep at 1pm today, then proper contrations for about an hour at 5pm - then my DH came into the bedroom where I was lying quietly contracting (hadn't told him - didn't want to tempt fate) - and it all stopped! Just like that. Couldn't believe it. One hot bath, a lot of nipple stimilating, a really ineffective 'self-sweep' and one spicy curry later, nothing. Have never felt so enraged or cross. Felt cross with my mum, my DH, both teams on Have I Got News For You, with the way our sitting room looks and now feeling cross with whole cast of Peep Show.

Sorry for long rant!

Giving up hope that my body actually knows how to establish contractions - get itself into labour! My uterus clearly needs a good talking to.
Night all.

eva07 · 03/05/2008 00:05

hiya, waters broke at 8 pm, need to stay at the antenatal ward as baby is still too high (risk of dropping cord...)
will be thinking of you cary, moomins, mum2be and bbm, all the best!!!
xx

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 03/05/2008 02:02

Hey all - my waters just broke as well... have to call the labout ward back in an hour to tell them if I am still leaking and then I think I will have to go in... Jeez thank goodness I went to bed early tonight so I have had a few hours zizz! Very excited as I know realise how clever my buba is - he/she was clearly listening earlier when I was yelling for them to get a move on!

Have a feeling though like Eva (GOOD LUCK btw Eva) that baby is still to high as I still have friggen heartburn leftover from dinner!

Anyway - wish me luck - hopefully I'm not going to be on here in several hours time telling you it was false alarm!

Carey - hee hee - hopefully I see you in there later! xxx

1dilemma · 03/05/2008 02:18

Mum2b maybe you'll be a Mum before lunchtime tomorrow?

Good luck

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 03/05/2008 07:51

Well I'm home again. Waters have def gone but they were fine with me going home until contractions get worse or until 7am tomorrow morning - if things haven't progressed by then, then they will induce... So now I'm going to have something to eat and go back to bed! Night night...

Denny185 · 03/05/2008 08:27

Ooooo lots of excitment last nights, good luck ladies youll soon be seeing your LO's

moominsmummy · 03/05/2008 09:41

ooo - eva and m2b2br how exciting

but am also very

still nothing happening here except I have fallen out with DH as he got a bit drunk last night - I was not amused. I usually totally avoid him when he's had a drink as whilst I love him dearly sober he is an irritating -pillock- person when he's had a few. Have informed him that if he's ever intoxicated when I go into labour I shall be leaving him behind and he may miss the whole thing.

he is being very meek and apologetic this morning

moominsmummy · 03/05/2008 09:42

oops meant to strike out that Pillock - but then he is a total pillock when he's drunk

Denny185 · 03/05/2008 09:51

Arnt they all moomins, think its something in the male chromosomes

Carey87 · 03/05/2008 10:33

morning all!

am very eva and mum2b! but good luck! and mum2b make sure you dont take no for an answer re: birth pool!

had a clary sage bath last night and i had the best nights sleep in ages! hasnt started anything off mind you so never mind

I had a really nice day planned today of going to see parents, DP nephew, popping up the stables etc... and then DP just informed me that football is on! FFS!!! this os officially the last weekend we will have and he wants to watch fucing football! I havent seen my parents or little brothers in weeks, we always see his parents (mainly because they are always popping around) so now I'm stuck in being bored shiless again! sorry to rant, just officialy fed up now!

Carey87 · 03/05/2008 10:35

moomins - know exactly what you mean re men being pillocks, when we first found out i was pregnant DP decided to drink half a large bottle of Jakck Daniels and decided to walk around our garden singing at the top of his voice at 2am, he was singing 'im going to be a daddddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy' which is v sweet, but still.........

northeastmummy · 03/05/2008 10:38

Wow - it has been a busy night! Sorry things haven't happened for you too Carey. Lovely news for eva though after the disappointment yesterday.

moominsmummy · 03/05/2008 10:43

carey - how frustrating about being stuck in all day cos of the F'ing football - I get the same thing when the rugby is on.

DH has moved 4 barrow loads of topsoil (token effort at appeasing me) and then crashed out asleep (which he always does after night on the beer). he also kept DS out an hour after bedtime last night so I had tearful boy at bedtime and a totally zonked 3 year old today who is refusing to do anything other than watch TV. grrrrrr.

an equally exciting day ahead for me...

bigbadmom · 03/05/2008 11:08

Congratulations Eva and Mum2B! Yes my DH also embraced the booze last night despite my having contracted a lot already that afternoon. I stretched over him pointedly at about 1am, turned his bedside light on and went into his side table to retrieve my earplugs as his breathing was all heavy due to boozing. He asked what I was doing and I announced in ratty voice "I am getting my earplugs" in hope of indicating my infuriation at his heavy breathing but he seemed utterly unashamed. I am convinced he actually drinks MORE in these situations!

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 03/05/2008 12:19

come on those in labour....

Eva when you're all settled with baby we must meet up for a coffee OK? been to mothercare in cardiff loads lately, keep thinking you might be thre too....

moominsmummy · 03/05/2008 13:17

topsoil is all moved! hurrah! DH did it in the end - he is feeling amazingly well after his chemo treatment so it's nice for him to be helping out for once

DS has been in tears several times but to be fair I think he's a bit poorly. not eating much and doesn't want to play on his new climbing frame. poor love. is lying on our bed watching scooby-doo.

bigbadmom - you must get your DH trained - my DH automatically takes himself to spare room when he's had a few and then I can get a good night's sleep and don't awaken to a room stinking of stale beer and beer-trumps

bigbadmom · 03/05/2008 15:28

Moomin - we live in two bed flat - otherwise he'd definitely be consigned to furthest poss spare room! Glad your DH feeling well.

Good luck those who are in labour RIGHT NOW. Nice day for it.

moominsmummy · 03/05/2008 16:22

bigbad - that is a problem - you can't even send him to sleep in the shed then!

it's been very quiet on here the last few days - surely all that newborn care can't occupy that much time???

am actually panicking as i recall what an easy baby DS was - am worried will get a real clingy screamer of a baby this time - arghhhhhh!

Denny185 · 03/05/2008 19:16

Its not so much the newborn thats taking up my time but DS and DD1, and of course the 4th child in this house - DH . All in bed now so time for MN and a bit of vegging infront of crap TV.

Thought id check in and see if any LO's arrived after all the waters breaking. Sagitta's not been on today

BBM - put one of those blow up in seconds inflatable beds on your xmas list and then you can kick DH into the living room on those drunken nights, then as payback he gets woken up really early by child.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 03/05/2008 19:30

I'm still here... contractions are pretty irregular at the moment - although a lot more intense then they were this morning - even though the MW's said I was hitting the high notes - they just don't seem as painful as I thought they would be! I'm wonderng if my hypnobirthing practice has something to do with my calmness and abilty to deal with the pain? The MW's were pretty impressed this morning!

Carey, Eva, Moomins and Sagitta - hope something is happening to you! It would be prety cool if our babies were all born on the same day at around the same time!

EllieG · 03/05/2008 19:55

Good luck mum2be!

Sorry to be all mememe ladies, especially as haven't been on in days, but could really do with some bf advice here -
