This is the morning report..

Robyn Olivia born at 12.35 am, 8lb 1z. Mum and baby home today, but I don't know who they are as no name lOL!

Soph in hospital, but te labour ward is full so they can't take her down yet, we have to pray for a space for her.

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 02/05/2008 09:20

had a big laugh today.

carnival day at school, kids dressing up. A good one for us- we've been carnivalling for years. Take ds3 in, he's wearing a holographic silver tailsuit, orange satin pan colalred suit, rainbow sequined cummerband, sequinned face and feathers in hair.

otehr kidswearing shorts and Lei, complaining ' what can you do with a boy!'.

PMSL!

If he doesn't get carnival king I'll be

Just call me uber-mummy while I go finish referencing my (crap) dissertation

northeastmummy · 02/05/2008 09:43

Ha ha ha ha Peachy - LOVE the sound of ds3's holographic suit .

How exciting about Robyn Olivia ... I wonder who she belongs to???

I've been fighting off visitors for the past few days and haven't had a minute to update with my birth story etc. I'll try and put a pic on my profile for now.

Don't lose hope Carey - it could still happen. Your Bishops score info sounds similar to mine last week - except my cervix was still posterior (which is worse). It could still get things going yet. I was completely unimpressed with my sweep and had NO expectation that it was going to work ... but then all of a sudden, baby!!

Sorry the sweep didn't work out for you moomin . You should plan some lovely "you" things to do for the next few days then hopefully the days will pass a bit quicker.

Congrats to all new mummies and good luck for sweeps today.

northeastmummy · 02/05/2008 09:50

Pics added ... needless to say, DD2 has filled out a bit since they were taken ...

eva07 · 02/05/2008 10:10

oh nem, they are really cute, both of them

maybe little robyn is sagitta's DD2? she had her sweep on wednesday. hope it is, anyway.

poor soph. must be quite annoying, waiting at the hospital for the labour ward to be free.

eva07 · 02/05/2008 10:13

lol peachy about the morning report.
and what's a tailsuit? dictionary seems not to work today...

VictorianSqualor · 02/05/2008 10:18

Sheds75 · 02/05/2008 10:44

Morning everyone, hope some of the sweeps have taken effect and there will be some more LO's arriving soon.

Thanks for all the colief advice, Henry seems a little better today and I actually got a few hours sleep last night. Fingers crossed he will continue to improve.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 02/05/2008 10:48

I want my baby out NOW!!!

bigbadmom · 02/05/2008 11:17

Mum2B, Carey and Moomins - any developments?!

Just for the record - I had the sweep half an hour ago - not very painful. Cervix still posterior which aint great, 'soft and stretchy' according to my notes, 1.5cm long and 1cm thick, easily allows two fingers.

What REALLY annoyed me was that there'd been a blip on my notes and even though it SAID I was due 23rd April on the front sheet, a sheet at the back from my first scan showed my EDD as the 28th April. So I am only T+4 today - not T+9 as I'd been told. So if nothing happens, I'm back in next Thursday for the post dates. Grrr!

Went down to see community midwives afterwards. Lots of chatter and general friendliness but no acknowledgement / apology that they'd got my dates five days out through total incompetence. Doesn't fill me with confidence. They've already missed an appointment and I had to sit in my flat for six hours waiting for an afternoon visit - then nobody even apologised about that either! Guess I'm lucky not to have to go to antenatal clinic for my appointments but it still riled.

Grr grr grr.

Eva - did you have a sweep today too? Better check back what the good luck message from Carey referred to.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 02/05/2008 11:28

No developments here... sigh... and sweep is only next Thursday... so no doubt I'll be sitting here on my ace while the rest of you are playing with your new babies! Yes - I am feeling very sorry for myself today! lol

How annoying about all the muck ups your MW's have made...

eva07 · 02/05/2008 11:58

bigbadmom, my sweep is at 1:30, so at the moment I'm waiting and bouncing on my birthing ball. I hope my sweep won't be that painful as I've been taking epo every day for now 4 weeks or so. everything should be nice and soft down there...
I had similar experiences with the midwives. waited for hours, always checking the door if somebody was out there (doesn't help that I'm not used to NOT have a doorbell. my friends always call me on my phone when they are in front of my door as I usually don't hear them knocking). quite annoying if the MW-appt isn't the only thing you have to do...

eva07 · 02/05/2008 12:00

mum2b, I know exactly how you feel!

moominsmummy · 02/05/2008 13:03

nothing happening here at all

I may not have had a baby but I have dredged the pond, weeded the entire garden and dug over a new flower bed. I did get halfway through moving large builders sack of topsoil (via shovel and wheelbarrow) but have conceeded that it may be slightly overdoing things at this stage. So have arranged to pay someone to do it for me.

now having my lunch, and going for a nap.

BBM - sorry about the mess with your dates - how annoying.

Good luck for the sweep eva....

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 02/05/2008 13:44

OMG Moomins - where do you get this energy from???? I have NO energy - especially for tasks like that! Very impressed! Make sure you save some of that energy for pushing baby out!!

eva07 · 02/05/2008 14:36

bah, no sweep here. MW said she couldn't do it at the surgery as baby isn't engaged enough

one more chance on tuesday though, MW will be over and try a sweep. if it's not possible I will be induced next friday.
so not what I had in mind for my first baby

Soph73 · 02/05/2008 15:13

Hi there! Just a very quick update from me, will have to post several times cos of stupid computer We are all doing well but still waiting for results of genetic test to confirm if Sam has Downs. He is growing like a goodun & moves & eats well & only wakes once in the night

Soph73 · 02/05/2008 15:15

Re the labour, it lasted 9 hours, no epidural but had to have an episiotomy (is that right ) so quite a few stitches. Had them checked today & all OK. Have already gone back to weight I was before I fell pregnant so very happy about that Can´t exercise for another month though (not that I mind!)

Soph73 · 02/05/2008 15:17

Congrats to all of you who have had their little ones & positive vibes & big hugs for those of you who haven´t. I will try & post again at the weekend but don´t hold your breath!

Carey87 · 02/05/2008 16:48

hi all

went out at 11 this morning, changed cat flap that we bought yesterday, bought some clary sage and had a really nice talk with the herby lady in there, then had breakfast in our favourite cafe, walked around town a bit more, bought a blender and a few other bits, then popped up the stables and saw one of my lovely ponies, had a good natter, walked down the field, then popped up the other stables and saw my other lovely pony, then got back, DP fitted new catflap (had to help as he tries his hardest bless him!), then used new blender to make pineapple smoothie! (yum yum!) and now about to go and clean the entire house - and guess what.....

NOTHING HAPPENING!!! AAAAAAARGH!!!

very very very crampy though and still bleeding a bit just want this lo out now!!

DP said we can have takeaway tonight though, so i bet my waters will break just as I'm about to tuck in to it!

sorry for long post, just gearing myself up to clean

peachy - LOL at your morning report!

eva - sorry about your sweep

Carey87 · 02/05/2008 16:50

Soph - really glad your all doing ok, and lol at your

moominsmummy · 02/05/2008 17:13

eva - sorry about your sweep - I know how you feel

carey - hope it all happens for you soon - at least you got loads of jobs done

sagitta · 02/05/2008 17:21

Hi Soph,

lovely to hear from you, I've been wondering how you were. lets us know the results of the tests. Great news about weight - and the sleeping! Keep in touch...

Sadly little Robyn isn't mine. Still F. All happening here. Can't believe that the MW told me it'd all be over by now after my sweep. So I'm just waiting for induction in a week's time now. 41 weeks tomorrow, and they do it at 42 here. Planning a lovely day tomorrow with DH and DD. My mums' gone home. so no childcare - so according to sod's law, it might happen at the weekend!

Cleaned out the kitchen cupboards - might this be nesting, finally?

moominsmummy · 02/05/2008 18:27

sagitta - could be nesting.... or boredom/frustration as in my case. the person who was going to come and move all my topsoil now can't do it so I may be doing that tomorrow morning.......

VictorianSqualor · 02/05/2008 18:39

I'm thinking robyn belongs to either SuzeM, or Bainmarie.
