I do, sagitta. except feeling sick. but sore fanjo and pelvic area (to be honest, I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to having sex after the sweep on friday...) and the baby bowel dance. baby is much quieter for the last 2 days though (but sometimes it still looks like there is a baby octopus in my belly moving around)

scorpio1 · 30/04/2008 10:39

i don't think i had for like 2 days then...

VictorianSqualor · 30/04/2008 10:45

sagitta, I felt like that for a while, but I have no iea why, lol.

Peachy, Alex doesn't exactly wheeze but he is still very stuffy, so he sounds kind of like he has a bunged up nose iyswim.

Scropio glad millie is sleeping so well for you, well done on the laying down latch, for some reason I never had a problem with it but I often hear people say they couldnt do it, I even lay on my tummy and dangle one over him if I can't be bothered to move Just wanted to sya, the time babies suckling produces the milk production hormone thingy the most is meant to be night time so be aware millie going for long stretches could affect your milk, do you go to bed the same time as her?If not some days maybe you could express before you go to bed just to keep them stimulated? Probably wont be an issue but after you've done so well I'd hate your milk to slow down.

scorpio1 · 30/04/2008 10:48

VS - the mw said that to me, she said some nights Mimi may wake more to stimulate more milk, ie maybe for a growth spurt or something. I do go to bed the same time as her mostly, she has the one feed in the actual night and then one very early morning, any time between 5-6.30. She then has about 3 feeds before midday to catch up iyswim? I am hoping to express from tonight or tomorrow, becuase i want to pop out on sunday night with friends.

I seem to have plenty of milk...she feeds well, settles in between, i do leak and they fill up before feed time is due if you get me?

VictorianSqualor · 30/04/2008 10:56

Yep, I get you.It probably wont be an issue but just wanted you to be aware, 6 hours with no feed shouldn't, ideally be a problem if it's just once a day and she is feeding well at other times, but for some people it would be.

scorpio1 · 30/04/2008 10:57

Yes its just that once a day, the rest of the time its anything between 2-3.5 hours.

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 30/04/2008 10:59

sounds like she's doing well Scorpio. VS is right about the hormone (the convere seems to be why some babies evening cluster feed- lower hormone production, according to BFI woman)

just burst into tears in front of HV- bugger! they'll put me on their PND watch now (always high risk coz of the sn factor) and I decidedly dont have PND, just a large pile of Uni work with a cut off this week and a non put downable baby. Damn damn damn.

She said not to worry too much about the wheezing but to pop over to GP if I think I need to, as on top of the murmur, BIL has very severe asthma (probably would be mild but he's a 30 a day man )

He hadn't gained- or lost- weight again BUT this time he was weighned nappiless, MW weighed with so we weighed nappy and it was 3oz so possible he's gained an ounce or two. Anyway i'll know soon enough, she's doing weekly visits

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 30/04/2008 11:01

Scorpio 3.5 is quite long though- I might be inclined to try maybe feeding her a bit earlier? Around 10 feeds a day is a good aim, 8 minimum.

VictorianSqualor · 30/04/2008 11:04

THEY WEIGHED HIM WITH A NAPPY?!
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
I've never heard of such a thing.
I'd ignore everything they have measured up until now and start again, nappyless.
My HV has just been too, Alex is 10lb 7oz now so she said I can self-weigh at clinic whenever I fancy and I don't have to see her again

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 30/04/2008 11:06

at VS, but I think they know I just won't go to clinic.

They weigh him with a nappy because the MW's dont have digital wipe clean scales, they use these pre-Ark fabric sling jobs.

Mind you I am not convinced about accuracy of birth measurements- not unless he has shrunk by 2cm anyway pmsl.

Just realised I answered door to postie with baby poo all over my white top.

VictorianSqualor · 30/04/2008 11:09

Spring scales?
ah, tiktok says ignore them, they dont work
Well, she siad something like that anyway about them not being worth anything.

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 30/04/2008 11:11

ah- interesting! thanks!

we're getting 6 poo's a day, he's alert- he's ok.

VictorianSqualor · 30/04/2008 11:17

She talks about it here
and here.

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 30/04/2008 11:24

Thast's great- thank you!

I made her weigh nappy, but my guess is he ahs gained. Also think its no coincidence that he is now sitting on same centile as ds2 and ds3 (not as ds1 forrunately!)

She ahsnt suggested a top up but I'm not even going there....

Just ahd a letter about ds1 as well, wasn't expecting it- 5th centile for schoolwork , severe dyslexia, more support going in.

Gonna go back to bed and start day agin LOL

PortAndLemon · 30/04/2008 11:46

Here the community midwives use the pre-ark sling balances with nappies too, but they do get you to change the nappy immediately beforehand so that they are comparing like with like. Given that those only give you a vague weight anyway that seems good enough to me.

(HVs didn't weigh DD at all as she was clearly porking up nicely (and we hadn't technically been discharged by the midwives when we saw the HV). If I took her to see HV then they'd weigh her naked on digitl sales, but I'm not going to do that apat from her 8 week check.)

Denny185 · 30/04/2008 11:55

What a rough morning your having Peachy just think the day can only get better. How much coursework have you got left to do? I am v impressed that you r managing a LO and 3 others as well as doing your work you r amazing.

Knitter thanks 4 the sleeping bag advice, i knew there was something about them with new borns but couldnt remember what, were safely over the 7lb mark so its in the washing machine ready to use tonight.

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 30/04/2008 12:18

Bas loves his grobag.

4000 words for dissertation left (half of that conclusion so not research based which speeds it up), one exam and 5000 words on the Boddhisattva in Buddhism by end May

then free forever!

sagitta · 30/04/2008 12:23

Peachy - you really are amazing! Hope your day gets better.

Please can you all send over some labour vibes. I feel so sick today and have a feeling it won't stop until LO's out...

scorpio1 · 30/04/2008 12:24

she feeds more than 8 times and 3.5 hours is THE longest - normally after her big lunchtime feed after feeding alot in the morning. ahh, whatever, its working, lol!

HV just been, millies bellybutton is moist (i knew it wasnt right) so needs cleaning, eek. bit nervous about that. Mimi started crying and hv said 'oh if you want to get a bottle ready whilst i look at her' errr, no, I feed her, thanks! Muchos questionning about pnd here too, another check in 4 weeks before they will leave me to it, though i can self weigh too.

sagitta · 30/04/2008 12:26

Scorpio - I am so glad feeding is going so well...

Denny185 · 30/04/2008 12:27

Bloody nora how do you fit it all in?

Sagitta lots of labour vibes coming your way, I mentioned to goodcatholicgirl on the May thread about the EPO up the fanjo and that it may be easier than consuming 7 pinapples. Some of the May ladies seemed to think i meant shoving the pinapples up their fanjos as well, LOL, i did point out though if they could fit 7 pinapples up there they'd have no problem pushing a baby out

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 30/04/2008 12:32

Please explain what EPO is supposed to do? And what I am supposed to do with it! Need this baby out now!!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 30/04/2008 12:33

And Peachy - I take my hat off to you girl - Superwoman is what you are!

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 30/04/2008 12:33

pmsl at the pineapple up the fanjo..... prickly top last I presume?

scorpio1 · 30/04/2008 12:34

reminds me of that scene in little nicky where the devil puts one up hitlers arse!
