getting worried for pfj now- hope you're ok sweetie

had a bit of a scare today, told dh that bas not gaining but not losing either- dh fetched the list scbu gave him and thats a sign of cardiac worries in a baby with a murmur. so is the cold hands and feet we'd commented on, and his occasional wheezing.

wiil have to get hv to refer him to emergency appointment (due to be seen by them in August) if no change by wednesday, as the scbu dr told us

Hope everythings ok Peachy, if its any consolation Alex has constantly git cold (purple!) hands and feet and sneezes tons, so fingers crossed it's juts the samer with Sebastian.

northeastmummy - I am going to have the baby in Montrose. It is wonderful there. I am so excited about it. I phoned them this morning and they were so amazing - they invited me in for a check-up and I got another sweep! So that is two I have had this week. They said I can have another one on Monday morning. I know that I am really lucky to have this "service" from them. As for induction - because I am going to hopefully have the baby there (they have won awards and the hospital is said to be the "best place in Scotland to give birth"?? ) they want to book my induction for 40 + 14 and since my Bishops's score is above 7, they will only need to break my waters.

Anyway, can I please tell everyone about my cervix? I am 1 - 2 cm dilated, it is anterior and soft, 2cm long, baby's head is minus 1 and I have a Bishop's Score of 8. I am soooooooo chuffed. My sis who is a MW student keeps telling me how amazing it is. She is so impressed and so was the MW. My sis says she knows that I am pissed off to not be in labour yet (and have been teary because of it and generally fed-up) but hopefully the fact that my cervix is so favourable and the baby so far down means a great labour?? Time will tell.

I went for some Acupuncture today too. MW told me to tweak nipples, have sex and eat pineapple, so I am hoping that those things plus the Acupuncture all make it happen. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease!

Sorry if I seem to be "boasting" about my cervix but I am just so pleased that all these false alarms have obviously done something. I have been sooooo embarrassed when I have thought I was in labour (THREE days in total in the last week and a half) but I wasn't - family all at the ready, friends too, then to tell them it has all stopped. AAAAH!

Eva - I totally know what you mean about having ENOUGH of everyone phoning/texting you. I switched my mobile off yesterday for the entire day as it was just all too much. They all mean well but it does your head in.......

Really quick post, no time to catch up on everyone's news but congrats to everyone who's had their little ones
We've been home a week now, and are just about getting the hang of things. Have called our daughter Zoe, she is gorgeous, but really struggling with feeding - fights the breast and tries to stuff her hand in her mouth but we persevere.
Labour was long - used every pain option going! Went into hospital when pain got too much at midnight on the Monday, finally had her Wednesday afternoon. Had to be induced as waters had broken and cervix was going no more than 2cm. Had epidural by that point. Then her heart rate started dropping between contractions, so they got the forceps out - ouch! so i have some lovely stitches
First few days at home were pretty rough as I had gone so long without sleep, combined with hormone crashes etc -I was prety weepy and decided I couldn't cope with it all. But much better now

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I'm still here, but I really don't have time to get on the internet at the mo - trying to get to grips with being a mum. But I will be back soonish I hope, probably when you are on the postnatal thread

littlemissturquoise - I considered going to Montrose for this one, but it's just too far. I had a fairly short labour with DD and don't want to risk having a baby in the car on the way down the road .

I have to say it's tempting though if they give you more than one sweep! I feel that given a bit longer, another sweep might just be a bit more effective. Maybe I'll try and ask again before next Thursday.

I'm in a similar place to you re: cervix - only difference is it's still posterior at the minute. The MW was really positive about my chances of going into labour before Thursday but for some reason I don't feel so sure.

Sorry to hear about your scare Peachy. Can you not get him checked over sooner just to put your mind at rest?

Usually able to keep up with all the news, but got overtaken with events, so first CONGRATULATIONS to all those new babies, and to those still waiting not long to go now, it is so exciting!!!

My news? Miya Jade popped out on Thursday morning. Very long waffly story about being in wrong town and county when it all kicked off shopping and not realising, thinking to stop at folks for dinner, dads frantic drive for an hour turning up radio2 so he cant hear grunting coming from back and then trying to give me a map and ask me directions during contractions, sitting on ball in shower and snoozing between contractions, mad dash to toilet thinking i needed to poo, midwife refusing to let baby be born into toilet, me still refusing any pain relief cause thinking ages to go, told should try some gas by midwife so some puffs, bullied off toilet into another room, where got on hands and knees and the next thing i know is a burning sensation followed by being tickled! baby had got her hand along side her face and was wriggling fingers, i laughing, midwife asking what was wrong and baby wimpering cause i was still needing to poo - poor bugger!! all the time my dad was somewhere in a waiting room fast asleep!

We have synchoronised feeding, so glad to know we have the same interests!!!

She is beautiful, and i got the pics to prove it, will post as soon as i get some feeling back in my arse and can get to camera 5 foot away!!!!
