ShellySara congrates and make me laugh hope your bum feels better soon!

Just found this brilliant website thought I would share! sharing

TLSM · 25/04/2008 23:08

oh and good luck KaybeeandZak I was induced with my first and it was fine in fact I have asked to be induced this time (have GBS so would rather be in hospital when things get going) so I am in first thing Monday.

eva07 · 26/04/2008 05:53

peachy, hopefully sebastian is ok and has 'just' cold hands!

ShellySara, congrats! great story

Good luck, Kaybee

I turned off my phone yesterday too - grandparents started calling (and texting) DP if we are at the hospital and how things are progressing

northeastmummy · 26/04/2008 09:15

Hi everyone. Great story ShellySara - gave me a good laugh this morning . And good luck Kaybee. I was induced with DD too and it wasn't bad at all.

Well I woke up at 4.30am this morning with mild contractions. I was able to sleep through them on and off until 6.30 when DD came through to get us up. They're getting stronger but are pretty irregular and short so could come to something or nothing still.

When I first woke up I was having a rant to myself about not being induced - I don't have anything against it, just don't feel I need it. Next thing I start feeling twinges - here's hoping!!

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 26/04/2008 09:19

Apparently the biggest concern is weight gain rathe than cold hands, will see Wednesday. VS- any ideas? hasn't lost or gained in the last weeks, but having all the poo's, wee's etc etc he should. There's a history of this in DH's family so DH not worried but be great if he'd gain something (an ounce would do me, know he'll be a slow gainer, all mine were, and they're all small for their age- just how we build them).

We're going out today, In need some post-Maternity clothes so off to Brigend shopping village bet I end up with nowt but 3 bags of baby clothes again

chipmonkey · 26/04/2008 09:46

Peachy, if all of your boys were slow gainers, why should Sebastian be any different? Hopefully that's all it is!
I am dreading buying clothes after ds4 is born! My belly is huge now, and I really can't see it going back to "normal" for ages! Not that normal for me is great either!

scorpio1 · 26/04/2008 11:04

Hi everyone

Peachy - here's hoping its just because thats how you make them

We are fine, Mimi slept really well last night and in her own bed!!! her cord thing dropped off today.

How is everyone? PFJ?

Ellie - hope you are well?

christmaspixie · 26/04/2008 11:27

Goodluck NEmummy!! hope this is it for you!! I had mild contractions all day on the day she was born, was able to just carry on my day...even had a little snooze. At 10pm they suddenly got stronger, so called the midwide, who arrived at 11pm to pronounce me 9cm dilated!! She was born at 1.am!! Second labour in TOTAL contrast to my first horrific, traumatic 3 day affair.
Lots of labour vibes to those left waiting x x

VictorianSqualor · 26/04/2008 12:02

No idea tbh Peachy, except like you said about different circumstances, if I were to eat my dinner and weigh myself I'd weigh more than if I'd just been to the toilet for example.
Are they the same scales? Can you try and make sure Bas has fed before they weigh him? You need to try and make everything the same each time, I'm no expert but AFAIK weight is only a concern if everything else isn't ok.

Scampmum, it depends how it effected you really, I had two beers the other night at tea and co-slept, but if I'd felt at all whoozy I wouldnt have, if you would wake up normally and not sleep deeper than fine, but it's your call, only you can judge.

chipmonkey · 26/04/2008 12:27

Scorpio, I have to LOL at you! After all your agonising about whether it was OK to call her Millie, you're calling her Mimi!

northeastmummy · 26/04/2008 17:14

Thanks christmaspixie - that's encouraging. I've been having contractions every 15 to 20 minutes all day now but just had a snooze and when I woke up they were much sorer and about every 5 minutes. They're still pretty short though so I've not called anyone yet - other than my DH out of the garden to put my tens on .

Carey87 · 26/04/2008 17:18

go northeast!!!

sounds very promising for you!

all the best!

XX

northeastmummy · 26/04/2008 17:36

Thanks Carey. Using VS's contraction timer now - it's brilliant! I'm varying between 3 and 7 mins apart, 30 to 50 seconds. So pretty erratic really!!

VictorianSqualor · 26/04/2008 18:04

ooooooh goodluck NEM!
Am still very of you all getting labour but so excited and pleqased for you too!!!
Enjoy it!
and remember what I said about the pain, tis Good Pain, think about what it's doing not how it feels.

KnitterInTheNW · 26/04/2008 18:11

Ugh, I'm in for another long night tonight.

My little monkey has been sleeping all day and going ages between waking up for a feed, then cluster feeding and dozing in the evening, then the minute I try to put us to bed he pings awake and just wants so suck and cuddle all night. I'm knackered. Any ideas on how to get him to be more awake during the day or do I just have to wait til he does it himself? We've tried everything to try to wake him up for a while today, even a bath which usually does the trick just woke him up while he was in the water and getting dressed again then nodded off again!

I'm finishing my cuppa then going for a lie down to prepare for tonight.

scorpio1 · 26/04/2008 18:41

i call her Mimi quite alot - ds2 has speech problems so says mimi instead of Millie; it has sort of stuck!

VictorianSqualor · 26/04/2008 19:09

Alex is pretty much the same knitter, he sleeps best from 8am til 11am, which is great....if DP is here to have the kids so I can lay in.

Have noticed he sleeps at around 8pm-11pm too so am going to try doing his bath/bed/boob routine from about 7:30, putting him to bed at 8pm, then starting my marathon night feeds (well, not too bad, they last about 10-15 mins every hourish so seems constant but not iyswim), anyway am going to start his routine tonight at 7:30, then change it by an hour after a week, and slowly make it later, that's what I did with the other two an it worked out ok.

They do get used to when they should be awake eventually, just keep the day/night difference going (day=loud, bright, smiley, playtime/night=quiet, hushed, no conversation, sleepy time).

If you can find out when he sleeps best and kip then it will be easier, but I promise they do fix themselves in the end.

scorpio1 · 26/04/2008 19:11

Millie seems to feed every hour-ish from 5-9pm, but then settles - last night she went 5 hours but had a massive feed when she woke!!

TOTALLY agree with day/night distinction. off to feed my hungry sausage. dh has gone to the pub

VictorianSqualor · 26/04/2008 19:17

Yeah, Alex's cluster feeed is later than Millies atm so I'm trying to fit in with his time schedule but he's eleven days old now so am going to slowly introduce him to mine.
Has anyone else that is BFing introduced a dummy? We have for car journies or when I'm unavailable, doesn't seem to be affecting his sucking too much, he has had one or two moments when not latched properly after using it but I've relatched him straight away and he has been fine.

scorpio1 · 26/04/2008 19:18

Millie has a dummy, has had since day 3 (i think) and we seem to be ok(day 8 now). she does make a funny face when she realises it has no milk in it though

VictorianSqualor · 26/04/2008 19:22

Does she do the 'I know the boob is here, but I can't keep my head still long enough to latch on' dance when she has had it? We try and limit hi with it and as I said it's not an issue, but I hate thinking I could mess it up when I've been so lucky with feeding both with him and DS1 (still sounds weird 'DS1').
Oh btw, I did it! We did BD
I didn't break

scorpio1 · 26/04/2008 19:26

lol @ not breaking. im still sore .

Mimi latches straight away most of the time, now im better at positioning her.

VictorianSqualor · 26/04/2008 19:28

Good
I'm (quite unexplainably) chuffed for you that you and BFing are getting on, you'd think it made a difference to me lol.
In fact even DP is pleased for you I got that excited

scorpio1 · 26/04/2008 19:31

maybe its becuase you knew how i felt before and helped me out with my questions? i seriously cannot believe what i thought of it before - i love it now. although i have not fed in public yet - i have infront of friends but im worried incase someone says something to me. Im a bit rubbish at hiding my boob, lol!

DH nearly died when he came in the bathroom the other night! poor thing he is holding out very well . i am still bleeding a little though.

scorpio1 · 26/04/2008 19:32

oh and i cannot believe how much Mimi poos. seriously.
