Scampmum - mine are 2 years and 3 days apart. DD1 13th, DD2 16th, me 21st!

All of us with the initial E and birthdays in the same week. It will be chaos.

Second the lanolin nipple cream. Its great. And also really good if your LOs have cracked skin on their hands and feet like DD2

ok, really fed up now, all twinges have stopped

sent DP out to play golf so I can have a good cry, feel like such a failure because I'm not in labour and I'm overdue which is stupid I know

elfsmummy - tell me ALL about your closebabycarrier. I got one for this LO but didn't use one for DD and have high hopes for it.

We have the Close Baby Carrier too and I love it so far. I had a hug-a-bub wrap sling with DS and this is just as comfortable but much less faff.

Kaybeeandzak i am 40+5 today and have said no to induction. just been speaking to a french friend of mine and in france you arent term til 41 weeks and apparently other bits of europe, term is 42 weeks. i reckon there is a bit of a rush in this country to 'get them out' . dont feel pressured.

Carey - I'm here! Only just got on. I had my sweep this morning but it wasn't very impressive. She could only reach with one finger because my cervix is posterior still. She said it's soft and she touched baby's head. She was quite positive about it but I'm not convinced. With DD I had a sweep and it was much more vigorous - it seemed like she hardly did anything this morning.

Saying all of that, I've been really crampy since. But then so have others on the thread and it didn't come to anything.

I would say the later you can leave it for your sweep the better really - it's much more likely to be effective. So try not to be too sad.

We only get one sweep here!!! Next step is induction and she wouldn't let me put it off so has booked me in for 1st May (next Thurs). I might just not turn up if I'm not ready.

I wonder how bainmarie is getting on??

NEM re 'wouldn't let me put it off'- have a look at the AIms website and maybe send them an e-mail, it is not up to her to 'let' you do anything! I know it can be ahrd toa rgue- apparently I wasn't 'allowed' my homebirth- but the poeple at AIMs helped me to get it, and it went fine.

Well all quiet here today, DD1 at school, DS with his nanny just leaving me a v chilled day with DD2 - currently sleeping after getting up at 6am. After some tidying up I may just chill on the sofa and watch crap TV. Hope theres some news from these sweeps today.

its the same here re: induction. you only get one sweep and then have to book in for induction 5 days later. I think its the thought of having to stay in hospital for the night without DP that is really bugging me. I'm not the best person in hospitals anyway and get so nervous.

No worries Denny - it doesn't take much! My brain is pretty scrambled right now.

Peachy - I'll have a look into that for definite. It is really hard to argue with them but perhaps if I educate myself a bit it'll be easier. I don't think I'm even due until today in reality and the MW I saw (who was very lovely so I've nothing against her personally) said that because they've put 19th all over my notes, that's the date they'll go by. That just doesn't make logical sense to me ... what's more important, the date they've written on my notes or what I feel is right in myself?

I'm still feeling pretty crampy but I think it's more just because things have been interfered with than the start of anything - as much as I'd like to be wrong.

Carey - your cramps sound a lot more promising!!
