[chock] PFJ I cant believe the crap that HV say what an utter cow! I am sure they are only there to make us feel like bad mothers! I have a strawberry birth mark on the top of my head and my mum told me that one HV thought my mum had dropped me asking oh no what have you done to her head my Mums response was I acidently burt her with a fag I was my mums 3rd child so she was way more laid back she then took the HV to the door and told her to leave! rang her doctors and told them not to send that idiot again which they didnt!

LMT Annieroo I know how you feel I had a right old cry yesterday and I am not even due until Saturday I really do think its our hormones getting the better of us we will all have are babies soon I must say though when I had Max (born at 38 weeks) I can rememeber about a week after he was born thinking I wish he was still in my belly he could be there for another 3 weeks! so I suppose I got my wish with this one!

Right I am off to the butchers then the bakers then the fruit and veg shop my mum is bring back Max today after crying down the phone to her yesterday and I am making a huge spag bowl also need to do a ton of ironing before they get here!

More news from me harhar...

Had knock on the door at 10am, a social worker. Apparently the A&E doctor wrote 'eggymosis(??-Sworker says this basically means bruising)/not bruises' on Jack's notes and now they arent sure whats going on. Also HW should have sent us to a childrens doc not A&E. SO we have to go to the hospital in a minute and go through this ALL OVER AGAIN.

Jack was running a mild temp of 38 degrees last night and this morning which I shall mention while I am there.

Social worker was nice to us, and honest, and said case will be closed if not bruises and case will continue if the marks are....
They are pushing for an xray in case he has a fracture.

Marks show no change at all today.

So... Please please wish us luck... we are out of our heads with worry on whats happening next now the social workers are involved.
Yesterday three docs at A&E looked at Jack and said to us not bruises.. but what the hell.. looks like God wants us to suffer further. Yay.

I am so glad it is not just me that hasn't got a definite name in mind yet! Although I had a dream the other night that I had a baby girl and normally in my dreams if I don't know the person I don't see a face, but I saw her face and she was beautiful... and I named her Gabriella (which isn't even a name we have taken into consideration, but I am now really liking!) I can't stop thinking about her now and just have her face stuck in my mind... I can't wait for this LO to arrive now so I can see him/her!!!!

All those who are feeling teary, it's a good sign I'm sure. I feel like that too - I almost cried when my MW phoned yesterday and thought "somebody does care!" (I haven't seen her since about 36 weeks.

And was it you that said about stabbing pains Carey? I'm getting those too. TLSM says it's baby pushing down on your cervix so all good stuff - if a little sore.

All's gone quiet here after my night of mild contractions. I'm off out for a walk soon to see if gravity helps - now that things have started feeling like they're going in that direction, I'm quite excited.

I feel like a complete failure as this happened with ds1 and i was induced. Tried acupunture yesterday but still no result so am off for another lot this afternoon.....No idea if it will work or not but am willing to try ANYTHING

Thanks northeastmummy, I am considering delaying my induction date too, not really sure what to do. On the one hand would like to get this baby out, but obv dont want induction. But what if i go to 14 days over and STILL have to be induced, then i'd be really annoyed.....

If it had been feasible with Alex I would've held out until they could show me my placenta wasnt working properly anymore.
They induce at 42 weeks because it is classed as 'overdue' (full-term is 37-42 weeks) but it doesnt mean your placenta will stop weorking, jut it could start to fail.

Yes that's what I read, the placenta may start to fail, not will which is basically what my midwife said. But the hosp will want me in there everyday for monitoring and don't know if I can handle that either...
I keep thinking 'what's wrong with me' that i can't produce a baby on time, but then whose bloody schedule is it!

All well here. Milk in, lovely bf poo replaced meconium, Eve feeding well and seems now to be coping for 3hrs between feeds. Doesn't want to sleep anywhere except nice warm people so have had her in bed last 2 nights.

Nipples are agony - mw said they were enormous so she's trying to take just the end bit and it feels like she's biting them off. Any tips on good latching when your nipples are like thumbs?

Feel like DD1 is missing out on mummy time so might try and do something special with her this afternoon if can work out a window from feeding - DD2 tends to take one boob then fall asleep, do a big burp and an explosive poo, wake up and want the other one. DD1 being lovely, no tantrums or anything but is clearly a bit unsettled.

Big vote for TENS here, Sagitta, got to 10cm (and through transition!) with it both times. Must post full birth story on here, there were some amusing moments and the whole thing was incredible, neither of us can think about it without simultaneously laughing and crying! Also found TENS v. helpful for afterpains which on day 1, I'm sorry to say, were genuinely worse than labour.

All you poor latent phasers, don't worry - it IS doing something. I was so depressed when we got back here Sunday night, felt like had let everyone down etc., then she was born before anyone woke up! my only advice would be don't set your heart on the pool because we had no time!

whereas i would have been induced first offer, because have had experience of failing placenta and once was enough for me! would have been induced on Weds, baby came Monday- phew! with ds3 induction booked for monday, he came sunday.

get all the facts and work out what's right for ou. Do not think of yourself as a failure Kaybeean- pregnancies can go to 44 weeks and be fine, its about risk reduction, not a vote of no confidence in your body. you would deliver eventually if left to it.

Soph, second the big up for MN for support for you - found threads by Thomcat and Eidsvoid SO uplifting and inspiring when we were told Eve was high risk. Huge congrats on the VBAC, too!

On the calories, Peachy - I wouldn't be able to double the calories I had yesterday; I am STARVING all the time. Ate half a camembert (sorry, still-preggos...) as a snack yesterday!
