TLSM · 23/04/2008 10:44

that should read DONE the hard bit

TLSM · 23/04/2008 10:46

NEM are they like shotting pains up your doings? I get them and was told its the babies head pushing on the cervix so a good thing as that can help dilation

northeastmummy · 23/04/2008 10:50

Yes TLSM - that would describe them pretty well . I remember someone talking about having pains like a knitting needle being poked up their bum and thinking how I'd never had that with DD - but now I know what they were talking about.

I get them at the same time as the BH's so that probably makes sense. Thank you!!

TLSM · 23/04/2008 10:55

That was me when I get them now i think its ok its a good thing its good thing!

northeastmummy · 23/04/2008 10:56

Peachy - was it definitely Soph73 that had her baby this week? Soph28 was due sooner and I haven't seen her on here for a while.

northeastmummy · 23/04/2008 10:57

Yeah - I'll start thinking that too now. They really make me jump!! And sometimes I shout out loud - DH gets a fright every time.

PortAndLemon · 23/04/2008 10:57

Gosh, you're right. I just assumed Soph73 when updating the list.

sagitta · 23/04/2008 11:00

I'm sure Soph 73 was going to call her baby Sam...and she had several due dates but I wondered that too...

TLSM - no, thank god, no news! Just starting to get organised...better late than never. Quite looking forward to next week when it would be OK to have LO, as it would be nice to have sex again, but DH and I are too scared that it might set something off, so we've been abstaining as he has hectic week at work and we're going away for the weekend!

But I hope everything works for you - sending over labour vibes (although that would mean I will definitely be last straggler on the april boards...knitter's son will have started school by the time I go into labour!)

PortAndLemon · 23/04/2008 11:00

Soph73 was planning to call the baby Sam, though (checked old messages) so seems reasonavle assumption.

sagitta · 23/04/2008 11:01

Happy DD, carey!

PortAndLemon · 23/04/2008 11:02

And you're right, sagitta (cross-posted) -- Soph73 was originally due mid-April and then they moved the EDD after her first scan.

northeastmummy · 23/04/2008 11:03

Yes - I agree. It sounds like it was Soph73. Soph28 is on the babes in scotland board too but I haven't seen her on there recently either so just started to wonder ...

PortAndLemon · 23/04/2008 11:04

And soph28 is posting normally today about petrol money, so think unlikely she's just had baby.

sagitta · 23/04/2008 11:07

or she's some kind of wonderwoman...

sagitta · 23/04/2008 11:08

If you hire a tens machine, how quickly do they arrive?

northeastmummy · 23/04/2008 11:13

sagitta - I got mine from here tens hire and they have a next day delivery option if you pay £4.75. However I think there are a lot of people who just buy one then sell it on ebay and it works out better price wise. I'm not sure where you get them other than online though.

How do you find out when someone last posted? Is there a way of searching for people on MN?

TLSM · 23/04/2008 11:20

Yep NEM go to search then the bottom seach option is by nickname then at the very bottom put a date in

TLSM · 23/04/2008 11:28

for anyone willing their lo out I have found another method!!! (god I love the internet) there is a acupressure point on the roof of my mouth which can help get contractions going and can keep them going once they start! to use it you need to suck your thumb! TLSM sitting sucking her thumb

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 23/04/2008 11:29

I will get DH to check it was Soph 73 though pretty sure (I struggle tor ead texts when my eyesight is playing up- hence havent been able to reply to Ellie yet but will do later as better in evenings)

VictorianSqualor · 23/04/2008 11:38

TLSM, I tried the acupressure points too.
I reckon it's all bollocks tbh.

scorpio1 · 23/04/2008 11:51

Millie weighs 7lb 14oz now; not too worried at all, she didnt feed for 2-3 days becuase of the snot. now she feeds well so she will put it back on she gets weighed again on monday, by which time they hope she will be back at birth weight. she also had heel prick test today she made a little whimper.

ELLIE yay, congrats!!! Love Molly, its quite similar to Millie i think. So your Dp gave in then, lol. and so he should! Hope the birth was ok ....

northeastmummy · 23/04/2008 11:56

Maybe he was just so overwhelmed by Ellie's amazing ability to give birth that he decided to give in to anything she wanted . You do hear of that don't you?

I don't think my DH was that impressed.

VictorianSqualor · 23/04/2008 11:57

Alex is suppsoed to be being weighed today, hopefully he'll have put some weight on too.
He gets registered later as well, so will actually be real!lol.

scorpio1 · 23/04/2008 11:59

lol @ real! we have to make an appt for that, will ring them today because i want a real one too!

Alex will prob weigh a stone

scorpio1 · 23/04/2008 12:00
