dizzydixies · 27/04/2008 09:39

lol, sazzles has just bought one and I'm considering one - may I ask if you're looking at a single or double?!?

dizzydixies · 27/04/2008 09:40

ignore me, of course its a single you're looking at

alittlebitshy · 27/04/2008 09:52

Sazz V jealous of your nap.
Am lol-ing in a sympathetic way about TS's cat's anxiety issues. I wonder if cats can get counselling?

Dizzy Sounds like you had a nice day yesterday - shame about being home alone today

I went shopping yesterday. Went with the moo friend who is getting married and had promised then reneged on dd being b/maid. She wanted to do makepup shopping, so we went to the prescriptives counter in John Lewis. I went there once a few years and bought some makeup (I never wear it normally, only for special occasions, so it was a very one off (pricy) purchase) and recommend it a lot - and she spent almost £200 . The girls behind the counter are very persuasive about the extra bits you "need". She did look lovely though - the colours suited her reall well. I stood there (didn't feel brave enough to nick a chair from another concession to sit on like a heifer feeling very old and frumpy.

I bought some bits for dd's birthday. Also got 2 new summery matty tops ( they double up as b/f tops though I'm not convinced by the discreet under layer with nork holes - i was always a hoik my top up kind of a gal with dd.). Also got one vest top in case it gets properly hot, and another pair of matty v v casual (jogging bottom like ) trousers - cos my blooming marvellous jeans are lovely but keep falling down.......

LAst time I went to Bluewater shopping, in December I got rather lost coming out and twice went out the wrong exit and almost ended upn on he m25 the worng way -so made my friend let me follow her til I was out the darn place. V smug, until I then got caught on queues on the a13 at 10 O'farking clock at night!!!!

DH and dd had a good day I gather. they went to a party, had a long ish (well for a 5 year old with occasionaly lazi-itis) walk there and back, a play in the park (all in cinderella costume (dd not dh i think obviously) and dr who in the eve which dd keeps trying to tell me about so i keep la la la ing and have told dh i HAVE to watch it tonight!! (god bless sky plus).

After church we have an other party. It's at a soft play and dd is tres excited. I've conned dh into coming too saying that I can't possibly squeeze in there if dd needs rescuing - but also him coming means I dont have to fret about parking - cos he can do the fretting and parking. Excellent!!!

Must go and have shower in a mo (and wear one of my new tops and the trousers) cos I need to run to the shops for bread cos we can have mega quick lunch after church before party.....

oopsacoconut · 27/04/2008 09:53

Dizzy, i already have a friend trying to off load her double urban on me - just incase there a second one hiding! PLease don't add to her madness

dizzydixies · 27/04/2008 10:00

lol oops, sorry am a bit double buggy crazed at the moment because I get all the conflicting advice

ALBS have you purchased fabulous dress for dd to wear to the wedding btw? well done you on the matty purchases!

Buckets · 27/04/2008 11:17

Only had 4hrs work this morning and obtained a parking permit from a city centre client so we're heading back into town this avo for a Carribbean Festival thing at the docks. Some big thing to celebrate/advertise the new Carribbean cruise ship that's just arrived but all I care about is the West Indian food. Fingers crossed the sun will come out as there's a free open top bus tour I think the kids would like.

Forgot to say we had sex again yesterday morning before the kids woke up - that's 3 times in a week! I now officially LOVE pregnancy (as does DH )!

TwilightSurfer · 27/04/2008 13:25

Oopsacoconut, glad to see you. Sounds like your DH needed a good smack.

Dizzy I just did some double buggy searching online and ... have nothing to suggest. Goodness they all look so BIG and BULKY. I'd never be able to manage one of the side by side models. {{{hugs}}}

No sleep in for me either. cat decided to walk across me to get to my glass of water, on my night stand. WTF! She has her own BOWL of water in the other room. Sometimes I wonder if she needs to get the boot, like the boys did, and take up residence OUTSIDE.

Update: I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Lovely glucose test!!! I'm bringing a straw this time so hopefully it will go down quicker. I'm also hoping to score an ultrasound when I complain about my tinkle issues. It happens mostly when I cough (which due to my chest cold is quite often) BUT I can't tell if it's happening more often.......or that maybe the more often stuff isn't really tinkle. I feel like I would surely know if I were "leaking" amnio fluid. Right? Maybe?? Geez, I don't know so it's worth pushing the doc to make sure. I'm in no pain and the baby is moving around like CRAZY so I've not been overly concerned. 24+1 today....if somethings wrong I just need to make through 4 more weeks. That's a nice thought. WOW this rides almost over.

afternoon all
lots of talk of tinkling on here so figure i should share my woes from yesterday... DP really made me laugh yday morning (he didn't mean to but its really not a funny tale if i try and explain what he was doing) and i wet myself from laughing so much! oops! was laughing so much at one point that i was crying as well so yup, leaking from both ends!!

wasn't yesterday amazing weather? i had a uni reunion thing and we were all in the garden. was beautiful. saw a friend who's not due until early sept and her bump is the same size as mine! how does that work?!
we then all went to a lovely Thai restaurant in Ealing. if anyone on here is over that way and want to try it, let me know and i'll find out what its called..really nice food and amazing value

i'm lying on my bed at the moment with laptop resting on bump. Baby's not liking being a table though and keeps kicking it!

i think i've had some braxtons as well. had one yesterday with a bit of a 'pins sticking in me" pain. left as quick as it arrived so not overly worried

right, really must get back to some more packing
I hope everyone's keeping their fingers crossed that we're going to exchange contracts this week!

cyteen · 27/04/2008 16:20

Hello all Just caught up with the last four pages - damn, this thread moves fast! Sounds like everyone's doing okay, although oops I'm ashamed to say I laughed at your DH's comment - stupid man, what was he thinking! I hope you have punished him accordingly

We've been away for a lovely weekend in the Peak District - very relaxing. Yesterday was the anniversary of my brother's death and thanks to my wonderful DP I honestly didn't think that much about it...only in a happy remembering-him way, not thinking of all the horror and awfulness. The weather was absolutely gorgeous yesterday, sunny and breezy and warm, so we just wandered about looking at stuff - went up to Peveril Castle in the morning, ate a massive cream tea, then had a lunchtime snooze In the afternoon we went for a walk partway up Cave Dale (I got too knackered to do the whole thing). It was lovely, we saw a red kite circling and lots of funny blackfaced sheep giving us suspicious looks.

I think Squidboy must be going through a growth spurt as well, I've been absolutely knackered the last few days and my bump is massive.

Buckets · 27/04/2008 17:39

Yep coughing and tinkling here too, also when I was vomiting. It's because of the raised levels of Relaxin hormone that slackens your muscles to allow your pelvis to expand. Doing the exercises is kind of an uphill battle when you're pg (ie fighting with this hormone) but it sets up good habits for after the birth.
TS - go smell your pants! Wee smells like wee, amniotic fluid doesn't smell at all. Could also be just generally runny cervical mucous finding its way out.
Oh, I am the queen of TMI.
Cyteen, glad you had a good break.

I had a really strong Braxton Hicks today, had tears in my eyes and was gripping the basin through it. Think it must be all the pointy bits of the baby facing out that hurt me so much when he's being squeezed.

CaptainCaveman · 27/04/2008 20:09

Ladies ladies ladies, keep on with those pelvic floor exercises! I must confess that if I sneeze I have to make sure I'm stood still and not walking along - can no longer do both without pelvic floor giving way . Just remember, the pelvic floor is a ring of muscle and like any muscle, if you don't exercise it, it gets flabby and lazy. Squeeze like you never squeezed before.

Also feeling utterly knackered today, had to go and lie down for an hour this afternoon. On the plus side - I found some shorts! Size 36" waist mens shorts . Look good though and will do for Florida, where lets face it, I will feel slim compared to the oversized locals

miamla · 27/04/2008 21:26

I really am going back to the boxes now!
