DUE AUGUST 2008 NEW THREAD!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dizzydixies · 25/04/2008 15:44

pmsl at fact you've actually got less days than me lol (why don't they do a blowing raspberries emoticon?!?)

I think height of dd and rain cover will do just now lol - I SAW a mountain buggy, very nice too, but they didn't have a carry cot to show me and after trying dd2 in the top seat of P&T she wasn't for playing nice

never thought to ask them to differentiate between padded cell and c/s - must get that clarified lol am HOPING for a vbac so when am still sitting here waiting on baby second week in august no 'I told you so's please'

dd1 was au naturale (HA!) with farking high forceps, dd2 was EMCS for failure to progress after 29hr labour, was 10cm etc and surgeon was up there just short of miners helmet and flippers so was ruined both ends
I have a consultant apt at 28wks and 34wks and he very kindly said I didn't need to make a decision about it until then

well I had pointed out if anyone came near me with forceps again I would go mental - dd1 came out with half her face blue, the stiches etc I could just about cope with but not seeing her black and blue wee pudding, well if you can call 10lb4 wee

miamla · 25/04/2008 16:40

dizzy ssh about being thrown off the july thread otherwise they might find out about me being thrown off too!!

i've finally got my meeting with HR on monday so we'll sort out then about when ML starts. i haven't taken any holiday this year yet so i'm wondering how early i'll get away with leaving

dizzydixies · 25/04/2008 16:44

miamla, I had to send ours a really snooty email yesterday again and finally got some stuff today, not that it makes any farking sense to me, anyway, needless to say I apparently should have stopped my childcare vouchers from the 24th wk before EDD so will lose money as didn't know to do this AND my matb1 form should have been in 14wks prior to EDD, am somewhere between 26 & 27wks now so thats late too

farking HR dept

and from now on I think we should refer to it as 'july-gate'

dizzydixies · 25/04/2008 16:54

sazzles dd2 is measuring in at about 90cm, dh trying to measure her but she is in a major strop this afternoon so it has involved some bennyhill like chasing through the kitchen/dining room

dizzy, do you know what the consequences are of the matb1 form being late? i've only just been asked for one today so need to sort it out next week

july-gate is a great name for our little "episode"!

i hope you're singing the benny hill theme tune during the chasing!

Buckets · 25/04/2008 17:17

Oh bugger, didn't think about DS being too big for a P&T . Oh well, maybe it will kickstart him walking properly if it's too uncomfortable to sit.
Had lovely day out with friend and her 3yr old boy, inc greasy spoon fry up of course(this baby seems to like them). Our boys developed a lovely game of shrieking 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah' at each other all down the high street - got some dirty looks I can tell you . They were so happy though we didn't mind.

What did you guys do to get thrown off???

dizzydixies · 25/04/2008 18:37

sazz thanks for helping, am hoping to get a second hand jane powertwin off ebay so I can reuse the car seats I already have but am keeping the mountain buggy and nippers as possibles! Emma is a very nice choice am impressed at your scheming

buckets I hadn't either it was only because I went to see them in the shop and when the toddler seat is up ABOVE the newborn, she is too tall, I would imagine its all fine when the extra seat is underneath for two, not one + baby. am glad you had such a nice day out with your friends

miamla just for you (ahem) da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da DA (big breath) de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de dede de DE! thats all you're getting

ALBS we could tell you but then we risk coming out of undercover and we'd have to shoot you after

alittlebitshy · 25/04/2008 18:47

did you use other names on that thread??

we're having indian taekaway tonight . First time I've fancied it all pg. Hoping I manage it (sickness wise - it's not actually, comparatively, too bad hence fancying differenr things). Gone v v mild for the sake of my heartburn!!

Sazzle my DD is called Emma May so great choice of name!!!!!

dizzydixies · 25/04/2008 19:21

my dad does call dd1 Emma even though its not her name so am very fond of it too lol

miamla · 25/04/2008 19:36

see Dizzy, told you that you should never have mentioned the July thread. Now do you see the trouble you've got us into?

that was beautiful singing though so i reckon that makes up for it!

ooh and we've decided on the M&P Luna in green. i started a thread about it and lots of owners came on saying how they were really pleased with theirs so now i just need to convince DP we need to order it NOW!

sigh I know about it not being allowed in our home until baby's here so i guess I'll keep it at my mum's... but it'll be fun to visit!

longwayfromhome · 25/04/2008 19:47

Hello, just on the phone to my mum, who told me that she irons her pillow cases.

dizzydixies · 25/04/2008 19:48

miamla I saw them in the pram centre yesterday and they're very smart, also saw Hazie's silvercross, am very of the lovely new prams, mine is a necessity buy for least amount of cash possible but I remember waltzing through town with shiney spanking new pram and pfb

be careful of the pram envy girls, it can take a grip!!!!

dizzydixies · 25/04/2008 19:49

pmsl - of course she does longwayfromhome its what every mother should do - did nobody else read that page in the handbook

miamla · 25/04/2008 20:48

oh we're not still talking about ironing pillow cases are we?!! but i have since found out that my dad irons his towels!! apparently it makes them nice and fluffy!

CaptainCaveman · 25/04/2008 21:12

TOWELS ? Your dad admits to ironing towels? You can put him in the insanity corner with me and dizzy then for being saddos who iron things that don't need ironing

Spent £96 in mothercare today on clothes for me....£80 worth are going back coz they're shite! Found some decent shorts in NewLook and H&M so now I have 2 pairs of shorts and 1 pair of cropped trousers for my holidays. How hard can it be to find some bloody decent shorts in this country for the pg lady?

sazzles we also went swimming today and ds had great fun trying to splash the lady who was doing the mum & toddler class. No shrieking though (for once)!

For those of you trying a VBAC (like I hope to) - what have you been told about monitoring? I see the cons again at 30 weeks so will find out more then but at last appt they basically said I would be monitored v closely and would have to go into labour suite pretty much as soon as labour started. Need to investigate my options a little!

poppysocks · 25/04/2008 21:23

Evening ladies. Sazzles - Emma sounds great. I also had the same bargaining tool thought re: VBAC. Trouble is I don't know what I'd choose!

Heard back from the midwife about the mistake in my double test result. Turns out that when they reran it with my correct rate, the odds lengthened (is that right? The second number got bigger..). Anyway, all good and v. relieved!

SiL had Phil & Ted's. There's 2.2 yrs between her two and it seemed to work for her, although her older one stopped wanting to go into it quite soon. Not sure if that was because of discomfort or not though.

Dizzy - will have to get a Cairnie date in the diary.
