Hurrah! I managed to get onto the pc before 9pm - some sort of record for me....

I am feeling justifiably proud of myself having ironed for 2 and a half hours this evening. Only have 6 of dh's shirts left to do which can wait til Friday at least. All that and I didn't iron myself once!! (and that included 6 pillowcases too!!!!)

Welcome back CHACHA, we missed you!

Ladies with mirrors who are tempted to look at your bits...your belly grows out for a reason - so you can't see the horrors of your undercarriage .

Has anyone else started to wind down at work already? (thats wind as in wine-d NOT wind of the Sazzles variety ). I finish on July 3rd so I make that 31 working days left - yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Captain you and Dizzy take the cake with the ironing. You would not be happy sleeping in my guestroom...i promise.

I second the movement gone wild thing. Today however has been a slow one for the baby. I think that's because I'm GROWING again. Sounds odd but I can just feel it happening. AND IT'S SO UNCOMFORTABLE. At least the little one is being considerate and keeping still during the process.

More sunshine play for us today. If it's 80 now what is it going to be like in July and August. NOTE TO SELF: ORDER AN ICE CHAIR!!

Baby decided to start wiggling.....must have realized I was typing about her.

FOUND VESTS!!! My errands today proved fruitful as I found plain white sleeveless vests (or onesies as we refer to them here) at BabiesRUs. I got a 3-pack in Newborn, 0-3, 3-6, & 6-9. Then I got two 3-packs in 12months just because that will be the size I'll need for her NEXT summer and won't want to go out hunting again. The tally now stands at 45...different sizes and sleeve styles. I think I have enough.

I guess it's time to consider dinner again.....last night we ended up with a pizza. I'm just not a cook. As a matter of fact I'd rather clean the bathroom than cook a meal. Call me crazy!!

Don't think I've wound up from work since DD was born! Doesn't stop me from getting stressed, but def. have a different approach now that I have her. A lot of my job is stuff that I don't have to do and it's finding that motivation that's not happening. Hey ho.

DH and I rowed this evening about my mat. leave. I plan to take the full 9 months, which with annual leave accrued at the beginning and end comes out at 11 months. He's not amused as it will cost a lot and ultimately, he's jealous as he'd like to be the one at home. Trouble is that now I know how he feels I won't enjoy the last few months now. Will just see how it goes as if we have another good sleeper like DD then maybe going back earlier would be a good thing, but if not... Well, I don't think I'll have as much trouble convincing him so no need to worry!

On a v. different subject, I don't think I'll be getting the mirror out. Some things are better left unseen!

poppysocks · 23/04/2008 21:15

Has anyone else got any stretchmarks yet? I only had a couple of wee ones that appeared close to the end last time. Was HORRIFIED to look down and observe several last week and they seem to be multiplying. What is going on? Please reassure me that I'm not the only one.... (Although that does make me a bitch for wishing them on others so I am sorry!).

HazieDazieandBaby · 23/04/2008 21:16

45 TS? I think you're a little bit off the record vest level currently held by Shazza who has 72! Maybe we should add that to the stats too!
Sazzles, what if I have a girl and call her Maisie? LazyCrazyHazieDazieandBabyMaisie! Think I need to cut down on the sugar...

Sazzles that just made me remember I ordered a pack of 3 at BabiesRUs online.... That would make the tally 48 (when they arrive). I wonder what else I've ordered and forgotten.

Thanks for the evite but I've a feeling I'm not going to be moving much come August. I'm getting HUGE. No stretch marks (sorry Poppysocks). May need a crane as my center of gravity is already shot.

OP posts:
HazieDazieandBaby · 23/04/2008 21:33

poppysocks, my DH keeps telling me I'm a lucky bugger for getting so long off work, but as we're having to carry around small people for 9mths (during which time we're constantly worried about everything), push them out of our bodies and then answer to their every want for the rest of our lives, I think a few months off work is fair enough! I think my DH is joking though, so I'll let him off! I know some DH's won't listen to this stuff though, but at least you have us to moan at!

I had strechmarks before I was pregnant, so I know I'm a prime candidate for them, but touch wood, none on my belly yet! I've been using bio-oil, but only since the MS passed, I hated the smell of it for the first couple of months. Don't know if it's helping but it's worth a go.

cyteen · 23/04/2008 21:47

TS we'd make a great team - I love cooking but hate cleaning the bathroom As is evident from the state of my bathroom

Wow, thank goodness for MN! YES to stretchmarks, YES to swollen 'bits', YES to husband who thinks maternity leave = holiday, YES to anxious days when baby just can't be bothered to kick. Anything else you've mentioned...? Well, I certainly don't iron pillowcases And I'm counting the days too, in fact I have it set up on my computer at work - at the end of every day it tells me how many I have left! 50 and counting, I'm stopping in early July at 36 wks... (and honestly, I quite like my job. I think it's the commuting that's getting me down more than being there.)

I may not post much but I certainly appreciate those of you who do! You make me feel very restrained with my little stash of vests and babygros. Best wishes to all and to all a goodnight...

miamla · 23/04/2008 22:52

lol at Sazzles checking the number of prams being ordered!!
i still haven't braved the mirror...sod it, i'm off to have a look now!

TS can you add whether or not we iron pillowcases to our stats? i reckon it says alot about someone's character! I most definitely do not iron them (or anything else for that matter! i choose the fabric of my clothes very carefully to avoid such nonsenses of ironing)

oh my goodness! I wasn't expecting that!! its all looks a different colour too or is that just me!
I think i'm glad i sneaked a peak...

anyhow, time for bed, night all

TS, get that dinner on if you haven't already started!

TwilightSurfer · 23/04/2008 23:04

Checked...nothing else on order. So to recap, vests due in this weekend and tandem stroller due in next week. Sazzle keep checking on me because my mind is going quickly.

Does anyone think purchasing a jogging stroller makes one jog/walk any more than if one had only a regular stroller?? I played with a really sweet jogging stroller today but wonder if it would end up like all the excerise videos I've collected over the years..................

Cyteen feel free to move in anytime. Please be aware I do not iron. I think I would be more inclined to cook if everyone liked to eat the same thing. Just seems so much goes to waste plus DH prefers NOT to eat left-overs. All this makes cooking a REAL chore. The sink and tub don't complain if they both get cleaned by the same cleaning agent AND the toilet always flushes all the germy-germs down after a good wisk the toilet brush.

Night

I dreamt about all of you ladies last night! Dreamt that we were having a get-together with lots of children and bumps all over the place and it was all very fun!

Sorry to hear about your Mum Dizzy. Hope she improves soon.

Nice to see you again ChaCha, Pertelote and Sarah. I love that name Sarah. We're wondering whether Tess could stand alone when DD has a formal name and shortened form, and Alexandra is on the shortlist.

Haven't worked out how many days left yet, but do know that I only have two full weeks left after this one. Hooray!

Hello there. I've been AWOL for a while. Everything's been so BUSY for a couple of weeks there just hasn't been time to MN

No news but I'll waffle on anyway...

Got increasingly PIG SICK of trying to find a maternity dress for the wedding next weekend and then some luck! A friend at work sent me one of those email discount vouchers for Monsoon for 25% off and I went in and tried on all the normal dresses with a bit of give/pleating/made with jersey. Settled on this one hurrah! I got the shop assistant to check that it wasn't riding up at the front but it all seems fine. So relieved to have something! Now just have to get shoes

Also booked a holiday to Corfu! Yey! Mild panic because we're going on 16 June for a week by which time I'll be 30/31 weeks. It's within the airline/insurance guidelines but still... And it's just leading to more tiresome shopping/returning clothes. Hey ho. The sunshine will be very welcome though.

Right, must go and try to catch up the last 12 pages

miamla · 24/04/2008 13:13

hi Sazzles, i'm here!
i have no idea when i'm stopping work but i'm hoping to have a chat with HR this afternoon. hee hee then i can join you in counting down the days!

Dizzy, sorry to hear about your mum. I echo what Sazzles said.. make sure you look after you as well as your mum
