DUE AUGUST 2008 NEW THREAD!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Buckets · 23/04/2008 10:02

Morning all, anyone else feeling really randy in their pregnancy? Had sex again last night, that's twice in 3 days which is possibly a record for us since having kids! And this morning I'm still having filthy thoughts about the man (DH of course, in case it wasn't clear), will have to phone him at work later and embarrass him with VG-style chat.

Hi Chacha, I remember you, I'll be having a CSec the first week of August so race you!

Think I deserve the award for biggest slacker as my maternity leave starts at 30wks!

cyteen · 23/04/2008 10:13

muhahahaha, good score Buckets! I have been feeling the opposite, totally sexless, until recently when my libido has returned...but I'm still cursed with fecking thrush, so not had much joy so far [frustrated emoticon]. I've also noticed - and sorry if this is rather too much at this time of the morning - that when we have had sex, it's all felt rather strange down there afterwards due to the engorgement and extra blood vessels. Does anyone else have this, or am I a sad freak of nature?

Still, am determined to rid myself of thrush and resume having my wicked way with DP - tried to get a GP appt this morning actually but they were full . We're going away this weekend so I was hoping for relief before then!

Not that DP would probably want much from me at the moment...am sitting here in cat-haired pyjamas, slippers and deep conditioning treatment on my hair. The glamour never stops.

Heheh, Cyteen, funny how nobody tells you exactly what the pressure of babyweight and all the extra bloodflow does to your bits do they? Whatever you do, don't get out a mirror and have a look - unfortunately they are just going to get bigger and puffier, can get quite uncomfy towards the end esp when head is engaged and baby trying to spin on its head. Fairly sure most DPs don't even notice though so that's one thing to be thankful for LOL.

Lukewarm salty teatree oily baths for you! Personally I would just buy a Canesten combi set from the chemist today rather than waiting for prescription. Well worth the £10 when you're suffering. And use a condom to begin with, just to make sure he doesn't catch it and give it back to you again later.

Buckets · 23/04/2008 10:38

PMSL Sazzles about wind-swept meadowy sheets

cyteen · 23/04/2008 10:43

Buckets - too late I have already had a look and frankly

Good advice otherwise though, I shall definitely be packing condoms this weekend - luckily we've got loads left over from pre-ttc days.

PetitFilou1 · 23/04/2008 11:18

VG Wondered where you were - hope your mum improves and the dog (dogs are very resilient - I have met more than one three legged dog who can run as fast as a four legged one - so don't worry) I also have a picture of the cat I had when I was a child, sitting on a bird table - WITH a plaster cast on one leg.
Hope your stomach muscles are on the mend too...

Cyteen agree with Buckets - go to the chemist and get some Canesten - but don't take those tablets you can get as they aren't recommended in pregnancy (I mean the ones you swallow not the pessaries!) Thrush - it is a joy. So far I've not been afflicted but there is still time.

I'm not going on mat leave until end of July. Very jealous of all of you who are going before then!

cyteen · 23/04/2008 12:08

Cheers girls, I have got some Canesten cream in the house so am giving it a go at the moment.

Does anyone else have days when their baby goes mad all day with really strong movements, and then a few days when not much seems to happen? My squid seems to especially like Sundays - the last few have seen a nonstop flurry of proper hard kicks and wriggles that you can easily feel on the outside of my stomach - but then the next few days he seems much quieter, and of course I begin to worry. Presumably he's just knackering himself out though

Hi ladies,

Glad you remembered me
Oh Buckets - wonder if we'll be the same day? I will know exact date for sure next consultancy which is 7th July I think.
ALBS - It was only moved back as they told me the section would most probably be first week of August (guess they counted back set amount of days from the EDD of 40weeks, sections being performed here at 39)
Sazzles - Was there at the CWP a couple of months ago, was a beautiful afternoon out with the children, would do it again.

Am popping on again for another thread again at tea time so hope to see you all again x

PetitFilou1 · 23/04/2008 15:22

Cyteen Yes about the baby movements and I think you might find you need the pessary as well. I've always found the cream pretty useless on its own but you might have less violent attacks of it!

PetitFilou1 · 23/04/2008 15:23

Sazzles your dd still has a sleep

miamla · 23/04/2008 16:29

buckets i am sooo tempted to get my mirror out when i get home tonight! but then given Cyteen's reaction perhaps i should try and resist the urge!

hi chacha, waves helloTS ooh some interesting name suggestions from you, i've never even heard of some of them!

Sazzles so you're famous now? brill! i can tell people i'm a friend of the stars! haven't listened yet but will have a go tonight. did you get your fish and chips last?

VG see, i told you the crazy ladies on here would cheer you up. how are your mum and dog doing today?

HazieDazie We did know that Pip was a boy already but she confirmed it by showing us his little willy! Her words were "and here's an image you can embarrass him with when he's older!" I was amazed at how clear it was! Poor little tyke having his bits photographed! The 4D scan is concentrated on their face so if you don't want to find out it would be possible for it to remain a surprise. Just make sure you tell the sonographer you don't want to know. Unless of course you do want to know, in which case...go for it! We decided to find out and not tell anyone but DP keeps slipping up so if anyone wants to find out they just talk to him for 5mins and wait for him to reveal all!
Oh, and don't drink any caffeine or orange juice before you have it. Both get baby too excited and mobile. If yours is in the wrong position and they can't move him/her to correct place they'll send you off for a walk and a coffee.
We had the opposite problem, he wouldn't keep still long enough to get a good photo for ages! And i hadn't had a drop of caffeine!
Where are you having yours done?

miamla · 23/04/2008 16:30

oh i really should have proof read the previous post!
hey ho, i'm sure you can work out what i mean!

forgot to say... remember we were talking about funny feelings down below and someone said it was because baby was head down? well whoever it was is right! that's exactly how Pip was for his scan!

cyteen · 23/04/2008 17:13

miamla, I urge you to resist temptation and step away from the mirror

Buckets · 23/04/2008 17:15

It IS scary!

miamla · 23/04/2008 17:35

but now i'm really intrigued!

My DS is 3 and still has an afternoon nap! I try to limit it to an hour now though.

HazieDazieandBaby · 23/04/2008 20:07

PMSL at all you guys with your mirrors out! I agree with sazzles though, just watch out when trying to balance, or else come up with a really good and believable story if you end up in casualty!

I can't wait for my scan now miamla, sounds like yours was really good! How long were you there for? We want to find out the flavour, DH is convinced we're having a boy and just wants to be proved right! We're not going to tell anyone that we've found out, as I know that if I told anyone that we did but that we weren't telling people, they would get it out of me eventually! We're going to be so shocked if little Button is a girl, I've been calling him/her 'he' for ages now - DH's fault! I don't have a gut feeling either way really. We're having it done in Livingston which is around 2hrs away. There is a place in Aberdeen that does it but we fancied the weekend away!

cyteen, I'm with you on the baby movements. Sometimes I panic myself stupid when Button's having a quiet day, but figured the same as you, that he's maybe a bit tired after all the activity on other days! I played Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs and he went crazy and also when we were at the KT Tunstall concert the other night! He also seems to like Jamie Cullum as well, bizzarely! I think it's because he's got a low voice and apparently babies prefer low sounds when they first begin to hear.

HazieDazieandBaby · 23/04/2008 20:10

alittlebitshy, I forgot to reply to you! We didn't go for any of the new colours, mainly as I haven't seen them yet! I really liked the Pistachio one so just decided to go for that. Will definitely get pics up when I get it!
