Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

Phew, I am glad it is not just me thats piling on the pounds!! I dont look pregnant, just bloated and fat!
Lolis - thats an interesting thought about bonding with the unborn child - not heard that one?!! Well, at least all these feelings will be worth it in the end!

Heartmum2Jamie · 11/04/2008 21:02

Tammy, I am so sorry to hear your news. This has happened to me before as well and it is devestating. Take care, I wish you all the best for the future.

As for weight, I still haven't gained a thing and obviously it gives me something else to worry about. Now I keep thinking I am starving my baby . It is strange to be changing shape and looking and feeling heavier when the numbers aren't moving. I guess I need to start eating a bit more even though I am past the starving hungry phase.

Creena · 12/04/2008 10:15

tammy - so very sorry to hear your news. Please look after yourself. Lots of hugs to you.

Creena · 12/04/2008 10:16

I was just thinking - with our list being so very long, surely at least one of us will find out we're having a multiple pregnancy.....

Have finally got around to arranging my nuchal fold scan. It's the day before my NHS dating scan. Feeling nervous and excited at the same time.

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 10:35

heartmum, revel in the not putting on wieght; you'll make up for it in later months to be sure.

I always lose weight in the first trimester; probably due to a combination of morning sickness and the lack of alcohol calories!! I've lost five pounds so far, but I know it'll all pile on, and more by the end. so far I've managed to hang onto a stone and a half after each pregnancy, so am already 3stone heavier than I was pre DCs. I'm determined that won't be the case this time and I've given myself a year and a bit (till my 41st birthday) to get back to my "fighting" weight! i was determined to do it before my 40th, but a that is only 3 months post due date, I think that's a tad ambitious.

woke up feeling very tired and very sick this morning. i feel like I've been run over by a truck and just want to crawl under the duvet, but DH has made a list of weekend chores to help us get more organised and I feel bad about not wanting to do anything.....another cup of tea and then i'll get going.

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 10:36

creena, the fact I'm so big already, it has been mentioned by lots of people, including my MW, that it "could be twins". I would just keel over if it were.

dozymare · 12/04/2008 11:21

lacksadaisy guess what...After having 2 DS already, I am also carrying an extra 3 stone! (I tend to put on about 3 stone per pregnancy) this one have put 10lbs (!!) already and only 8 weeks...I wouldn't mind if I had been eating junk, but have gone of chocolate and obviously not having alcohol........not fair!!!!

We should start a diet club once we have the LO's!!! Thread title could be...

We had our babies, pigged out on rice and cheese and guess what, still got over 3 stone to lose!!!

Havge a lovely weekend everyone!

mum2ozzie · 12/04/2008 11:57

Hello, haven't logged on for a bit. Been trying to forget I'm pregnant really and watching time tick by. Difficult as I do feel really sick this time (thank goodness) and so relieved to see others also put on weight. I've put on about half a stone and am also only 8 weeks.

Just got my scan date through and its 15 May so when I'm 13 weeks as I know they are full at the moment. Frustrating though as it just adds another week to the agony of waiting. Has anyone had a dating scan privately? Would you recommend?

P.S. Rice & Cheese RU mad - retching just thinking about it!!!!

cricri · 12/04/2008 12:16

mum2ozzie I had a private dating scan a few weeks ago when they put me at 7+3. I would definitely recommend it. I wanted one for peace of mind after my mmc last year and it certainly helped (well, temporarily at least). The sonographer was really good, very kind and sympathetic and answered all my questions. I felt very relaxed and not rushed at all during the appointment. I'm having my nuchal fold scan done privately too because it's not available on the NHS where I live. I'll be 12+3 by the time my NHS scan comes around so can understand your anxiety about waiting that long.

Lolis · 12/04/2008 12:26

My scan's in week 13 too - 29 April. I'm so desperate to have it and it seems ages away. I also want an actual due date as I'm sure I ovulated around day 10.

Can't wait to see what's in there....

lackadaisycal, I'm also feeling really knackered this morning. I really struggled to get through work this week. But DH's parents are coming for the evening and I have to stay awake - and clean the house! Aaaaagh! Wish I could just hibernate.

LolaBella · 12/04/2008 13:54

mum2ozzie my NHS scan is not till im 15 weeks (backlog in Nhs around here im told) so iv booked a private scan. Costing about 100pounds but i figure well worth it.

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 14:10

still no scna date for me here . MW sent the paperwork off to them nearly three weeks ago. I think I might chase it up on Monday just incase the letter has got lost in the post.

Emmanj · 12/04/2008 14:40

Its probably worth ringing the scan department at the hospital - thats what i did last week. They asked me when 1st day of last period was and told me they were doing the letters for 'that batch' this week, think theres a backlog in a lot of areas as so many babies due in Nov.

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 14:41

thanks emmanj

dozymare · 12/04/2008 15:20

mum2ozzie the whole rice and cheese thing has split this group down the middle...there are those like twinkling and I (and you!) who absoultely retch at the thought......and then there are those on the "dark side" who can't stop eating it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MamaG · 12/04/2008 15:27

Hello

I'm due on 1st November so thought I might venture onto this thread

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 15:42

hi mamag...did you find whether or not it was twins yet? I was following your toopanicky thread

bubbaz · 12/04/2008 17:34

Oooh twins, I had that through my last pregnancy and for the last couple of weeks this time but there is only one (Thank God) so its not me
I'm still huge though I put on 4 stone last time so i'm not holding out much hope this time round.
LOL at the Beer belly Lolis, its the reason I pulled my maternity jeans cause then I look pregnant not just like my clothes are too small!!
TwinkleI'm in Carlisle but nowhere in Cumbria is that far really, Where are you moving to??
Welcome mamag I can't believe more people are still joining!!

ceebee74 · 12/04/2008 19:50

Evening

Bubbaz - I live in Lancashire but I travel to Carlisle once or twice a month with work. Maybe we can arrange a meet-up somewhere in the middle when the babies arrive

Welcome to all the newbies - this is the thread that just keeps on growing

Not much to report here - still feel sick and it is defiitely only helped by eating so I am constantly snacking on stuff (unhealthy stuff too!) so I am going to be the size of a house shortly - I daren't get on the scales! I am still 3 stone overweight after having DS so god knows what the future is going to hold!

Jesus Twinkling!

I feel such mixed emotions in reaction to your story. Immense anger that a woman with a live&viable embryo could be put through D and C op. You really must make a complaint to the NHS trust as can you imagine the odds of your bean survivng that. Miraculous and wonderful. I thought one of the first things to look for when scanning is to check no. of embyos. Its the first thing that has been said to me on all of my first scans.

So happy for you. Hope you're coping OK on the rollercoaster!!

dozymare · 12/04/2008 21:12

Evening all...does anyone else not feel pregnant?? I am a little bit concerned as haven't really had any symptoms apart from slight nausea and tiredness. I saw the HB 2 weeks ago on a scan (31 March) and I am just having a really bad time imagining that something has gone wrong...

Renaissancewoman · 12/04/2008 21:27

My weight gain is varying between 3 or 5 pounds which is pretty good for me at this stage 10w 2d. But my body has completely changed shape and I too have a beer belly which looks like a good half a stone plus boobs are going to porn star proportions already. So I must have lost some weight elsewhere? My DH thought it was really wierd this morning that I showered and then put my pjs back on. I had to explain the joy of elasticated waists on slouchy pants. I could tell he was thinking 'but they look so unsexy'.

Last 3 days the morning sickness has gone off but feeling very sleepy in afternoons. Of course this is worrying me. 12 days to go to 12 wk scan, not that I'm counting or anything.

People are checking out my tummy now. My mother in law remarked that I was piling on weight and guessed within 3 minutes of seeing me last weekend that I was pregnant. My neighbour checked out my tummy as I passed her in street and feel very self concious with friends, not so much because of my shape (although I do hate this flabby stage before the bump takes shape) but because I don't want anyone to know before I know it is looking like I'll go the distance. Bloody previous mc is makin me doubtful which is difficult for me as I never usually consider negative what ifs...

Renaissancewoman · 12/04/2008 21:35

Dozymare - I don't feel that pregnant now that MS has subsided. Only signs are flabby belly, bigger boobs and tiredness and can not face drinking coffee. I've been feeling a lot more energetic the last few days and have even been to the gym (not been since b4 xmas) 3 days on trot. Tummy felt a bit uncomfortable when I tried to jog, albeit very slowly. But other than this I don't have the strange taste, cravings, huge appetite, headaches, sore breasts, tummy twinges that I've had in the past. And like you I can't help thinking something must have checked from the scan I had at 8wks. But there's nothing standard about pregnancy, pregnancy symptoms or birth or kids or life!!

bubbaz · 12/04/2008 22:22

Ceebee that sounds lovely I like a day out and I think our DSs are a similar age too mine is 2 in June.
Dozy I don't have any symptoms either now other than retching when I clean my teeth which I do anyway. If I hadn't seen the HB last week I would be a mess. I had really sore boobs last time round and they don't hurt at all this time but have grown loads instead. Try not too worry too much I know its easier said than done at this stage.
