Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

urgh - feel rotten

Dozy - I may even have to ask YOU for help with the kids and cleaning today - can you just do the hamster cage for me?

lackaDAISYcal · 11/04/2008 13:27

OMG twinkling ....but . That is bloody fantastic and welcome back.

the old adage "life will find a way" definately ringing true for your miracle bean; he/she will be one of life's great achievers that's for sure!

I can understand that your head must be buzzing with questions; mine certainly would, not least of all how could they miss it? and how could bub survive the D&C?

good luck and it's good to have you back with us

hi to twinkle182 as well, i think your post has gotten a little lost in amongst the miracle of twinkling fairy . I'm in a simialr position to you in tha this, my No3 came as a bit of an unplanned shock. My DD is just 10 months now, so 17 mo between them when bub is born.

not feeling quite so sick today, but I think that's because i've kept a constant stream of food going in!

bubbaz · 11/04/2008 13:37

Oh TF that is brilliant news I am soooo pleased for you. You must be on cloud nine.
Bad hospital for doing that to you though, I know you prob don't want to think about the bad side but you should seriously think about placing a formal complaint. If you need any advice I work with the complaints dept for my NHS so could ask, the manager thinks I should complain cause they were useless last week and you situation is far far worse!!!
Great news though I am so pleased!!!

Welcome to all the newbies, Twinkle I'm in Cumbria and I'm glad not to be the only one now.

Hope everyone else is OK and MS not too bad.

mad4mybaby · 11/04/2008 14:47

twinklingfairy, that is the most amazing thing ive heard! Really puts eveyone elses pregnancy 'issues' (ms etc) into perspective,
im so pleased for you.

Welcome newbies.

I now have a cold on top of ms! Someone on here had a cold the other week, what did you do?? Did you find anything you could take?

Anyone struggling to sleep? Im exhausted, but taking ages to get to sleep (not a prob until a week ago) and then i wake up in the night (not to pee as not drinking!) for no reason and getting fed up of it!

pinkyminky · 11/04/2008 15:37

Mad4- sorry you are feeling rotten. I keep waking up in the night, too. Just lying there, wide awake for no reason.
Tumbletots today, and I could tell some of the mums were giving me that is she or isn't she look! Can't wait til I have a proper bump not just a beer belly type thing.

Lolis · 11/04/2008 15:39

Wow I'm glad I just logged on, what an amazing story twinklingfairy! There must be a God and s/he must like you?????!

mad4mybaby, I am struggling to sleep too. It doesn't help my already total exhaustion. I'm at work, it's Friday pm, and I feel like I'm dissolving into a big exhausted puddle.

I'm having really vivid, weird dreams and I think that might be waking me up a lot. Also the weeing - I get full bladder and sleep lightly for an hour trying to ignore it and have to give in. Also I find it really hard to get to sleep when I've battled the tiredness for too long and am over-tired.

Maybe you're dreaming a lot(I heard this is common in pregnancy) but not remembering it? Or maybe it's just another of thos bloody annoying things.

Roca Thanks for the reassuring on the brown spotting - I phoned Dr and she said, "Are your boobs till growing? You're fine!" Yes they are

Lolis · 11/04/2008 15:44

Last night I dreamed about my baby - and then Heath Ledger came and asked me out on a date! Pretty sad really knowing the Heath tragedy, but it was a v nice dream

The other night I dreamed I made friends with a great white shark who could walk on dry land...Any weird pregnancy dreams out there?

pinkyminky · 11/04/2008 15:44

lol Lolis re-boobs!
I kind of had an AF within the first few months of my first pregnancy and it was fine- very worrying for me but not all that uncommon.
Strange dreams- definitely having those. Dreamed my baby was a chicken the other night, very strange. Last week I dreamt I had my scan and I was actually 5 months pregnant!

Creena · 11/04/2008 15:51

Haven't got time to catch up with this thread and the last one but just wanted to say...

Twinkling! That's absolutely brilliant and fantastic and wonderful and unbelievable news!! I'm overjoyed for you - it's great to have you back here with us too.

I heard a statistic somewhere once about half of all pregnancies starting out as multiples but rapidly becoming singletons before anyone even notices.

Anyway, that such excellent news and I am so very happy for you!

LolaBella · 11/04/2008 15:57

OMG Twinkyling what an amazing miracle story it send shivers down my spine just reading it so can't even begin to image how thrilled you and your DH are. Lovely to have you back

No reals news form me today - still no signs of pregnancy at all or of a scan date in sight. I will be 11w on Sunday. If i don't hear anything soon however, i'm going for a private scan. Bloody slow NHS

LolaBella · 11/04/2008 16:07

I'm too impatient - iv just booked a private scan
Roll on 23rd of April!! Better hope that dp will dig deep now
xx

ruthless · 11/04/2008 16:22

Just wanted to add my cries of glee to the chorus twinkling - that is the best news I've heard all day. Congratulations - what an amazing thing to happen. You've made me go home for the weekend with a great soppy smile on my face. I hope you and your family enjoy yourselves this weekend.

I'm off home to tell my mum and dad my news for the first time - I've been saving it up for their visit. They'll be so happy, I'm very excited.

Will probably take that back when they start phoning every day to make sure I'm taking folic acid....

Emmanj · 11/04/2008 16:57

WOW WOW WOW twinkling!!!!!!!! Absolutely amazing! This is the 1st chance ive had to log on all day and couldnt believe what i was reading!! Congratulations, its a miracle!

MS not too bad today, still thirsty though... i stupidly weighed myself this morning for the 1st time since BFP, and i have put on about 10 pounds - arrrgghh ! i couldnt believe it, i iknew my colthes felt tighter but wasnt expecting so much?! Anyone else had this weight gain issue??

tammycc · 11/04/2008 17:09

Hi everyone. I'm signing in for the last time (for a while anyway).
I had been spotting for a couple of weeks and it was getting more heavy, so on Wednesday I called the EPU, and they booked me in for a scan on Thursday morning. I was 11 weeks, so there should have been plenty to see on an external scan, but there was nothing. They then did an internal scan, and confirmed the same, just an empty pregnancy sac in my uterus.
They have told me that I have had a blighted ovum, or anembryonic pregnancy, where the embryo has died very early on and has been absorbed, but everything else has kept on going (as my DH put it, the oven is on but the bun aint there). They have asked me to come back next thurs for another scan just to make doubly sure, and if things are still the same (no baby)(I'm pretty sure they will be)then they will offer me a medical or surgical intervention to trigger a miscarriage. ~I'm hoping this will happen naturally over the next few days, as it is horrible feeling pregnant but knowing it is all for nothing.
Good luck to you all, I hope that everything goes well. x

Emmanj · 11/04/2008 17:12

so sorry to hear the news tammycc, you poor thing . look after yourself, and hope u get some good news soon. take care xx

bubbaz · 11/04/2008 17:26

Tammy, sorry to hear that, good luck and take care.
EmmanJ I have put on round the same - I' coming up 10 weeks I gave in this morning and put my maternity jeans on!!
Just bought some pickled eggs they are lush!!

cricri · 11/04/2008 18:01

tammycc So sorry to hear your news I had a blighted ovum pregnancy last year and it sucks. I know I keep linking to this thread but it's great for support during mc and afterwards.
Hope you've got lots of support in RL and (((hugs))) to you.

mad4mybaby · 11/04/2008 19:45

tammy, so so sorry. Try to be strong x

Ive put on about 5lbs. I ate a whole dinner tonight! Followed by stawberries!! Major achievement for me. I keep eating loads when im not hungry at all! I had most of my dinner last night (curry, not takaway!) at 5pm then at around 7.30 i got dh to make me spanish omlette with pots, cheese and peppers! Night before same but scrmbled eggs on toast!

Oh someone told me something really interesting on another thread earlier,

"It has been theorized that morning sickness occurs when sub-optimal quantities of water are consumed by the mother and the nausea that occurs during morning sickness may be a manifestation of thirst from the unborn foetus."

so does that mean my babys thirsty??

Lolis · 11/04/2008 19:50

Poor tammycc, I really feel for you, it's everyone's worst fear. Sorry for your sad news.

Emmanj and bubbaz, I am putting on weight fast too! Squeezed into my favourite jeans today, but they hurt my tummy and I have a big beer belly on top! It's so depressing in a totally trivial way! So tomorrow it's back into the maternity jeans (which I bought two weeks ago). Sucks.

Ash80 · 11/04/2008 19:52

Sorry for your loss tammmyc , Hope to see you soon on another antenatal thread. Take care.....xxx

Hi twinkling: I had seen your thread earlier, i was sooooo happy to hear your news. Just makes me believe in miracles
What a story to tell when he/she grows up eihh.....

Lolis · 11/04/2008 19:53

Well I'm drinking like a fish (juice and water) and still feel sick, so dunno about that one.

My Mum keeps telling me it's all in order to bond with the baby - eh? How is feeling sick going to make me bond with the baby? Some weird thing about going through suffering for your child. That thought hasn't helped me one bit!!

lackaDAISYcal · 11/04/2008 20:02

sorry to hear of your loss tammycc [sadd]. take time to grieve over this, as although it technically wasn't a baby, your body thought there was one and emotionally that is hard to recover from. The mc avengers and knickercheckers anonymous threads are great places for when you feel ready to conceive/have conceived again.

take care, be kind to yourself and your DH, and we'll see you again soon i hope. daisy xx

pinkyminky · 11/04/2008 20:11

Very sorry to hear your news, Tammyc. Take care.x

dozymare · 11/04/2008 20:21

Tammyc I am so sorry to hear your news and wish you and yours all the best xxxxx

As for weight gain, I have just weighed myself and also put on 10lbs!!!!!!!!! I am only 8 weeks

The mad thing is I am not eating chocolate as it makes me feel queasy and obviously not drinking alcohol!!! I'm not exactly in the featherweight category as it is......

DM skulks of to find the salad....

Oblomov · 11/04/2008 20:26

So sorry tammy
As cricri said, come on over to the mc thread, we are here to support you. Big hugs.
