Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

TWINKLING - that can't be??? No way!! OH WOW!!! How could that be - what explanation did they give???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!

Roca · 10/04/2008 23:16

twinkling- where are you?

twinklingfairy · 10/04/2008 23:24

Oops, sorry rca, was off emailing folk!

They think but are not pinning themselves to anything mind that I had twins (omg) and that I miscarried one of them.

No explanation as to why they did not spot that I had one healthy bean and gave a D&C anyway.
I think it was cos they did not do an internal the first time.
My hands are up cos someone on here did tell me to ask for one of those and I didn't. I had just given up hope

What a sticky little bean though, eh? Clinging on for dear life though a D&C!!

It is almost scandalous thatthey did this to me.
They have now backtracked on the whole molar pregnancy thing. And I guess they did always say 'suspected' but the test came through saying no signs of a molar, so

I am just so confused by the myriad of emotions that I am trying to pick my way through.

Roca · 10/04/2008 23:30

oh my goodness Twinkling - have you EVER heard of such a thing - this may sound ignorant but is a D&C not complete with anything you have in your uterus or does it just clear one small area?

I can't believe it - talk about a miracle story - am so happy for you - man, even I am here hoovering and can't get my head round it so what it must be like for you!

No looking back now though - just forward - have they asked you to go for a new scan soon?

Really chuffed for you

twinklingfairy · 10/04/2008 23:39

Yup
I did have my original 12 week scan bppked for 13th May, but they said, phf, we will want to see you before that, come back in 2 weeks.
Will be the 25th April.
What a great time the scanning girls had sharing my news. The doc had a pretty fun time too I think!

So I will see them at about 9 weeks and then 12 too. I ain't giving up an appointment without a fight!!

Glad I brought some joy to the hoovering!
Thats what I came home to Thought I had been really crafty, running away from a mucky home (to visit my neices. Thats where I was headed) My plan was to leave it all to DH teehee. Instead I came home again today and couldn't stand it a moment longer.
Hoovering and cleaning floors. Floored me though and I ended up with pains in my right hand side, too close for comfort. So my dad did the dishes, bonus!! DH is now expected to give the bathroom a thorough going over.
I am heading off for a second go at visiting those neices tomorrow, so he has a week to do it in.

twinklingfairy · 10/04/2008 23:41

Yes, I thought a D&C was meant to clear you, how on earth this little bean survived is beyond me. Lets just hope and pray that it coninues to do so and that they have not caused any lasting damage.
But I guess it is such early days that they shouldn't have caused any cos it doesn't really have a whole lot to damage yet???
What do you think?

Roca · 10/04/2008 23:49

I would say if it's there with a heart beat then it's defo all there and well - I think it just has to be a miracle - just cant see what else - they must have given you some explanation how it could have survived?

Have you googled to see if any other similar stories?

twinklingfairy · 10/04/2008 23:54

The google title would be huuge!
I don't do much googling.
What would I type in?

Roca · 10/04/2008 23:54

I think you must just be winding us up twinkling?!!!!

motherhoodrocks · 10/04/2008 23:59

not part of this group twinklingfairy but saw this come up on active convos and just wanted to say what an amazing story and congratulations. think you need to ask some serious questions at hospital once you get over the shock and excitement that is.

CONGRATS X.

twinklingfairy · 11/04/2008 00:01

What about being too dim to think what to write ina google box?
No, this is no wind up!
This is the surreal truth, happening to me right now!
But it does feel another dimension type of scenario.

Oh God have frightened myself a little. Only found info on planned abortions. One girls didn't work but they took part of the placenta and the baby was born at 4 months and did not survive, birth defects.

Roca · 11/04/2008 00:04

I have been looking on google but can't find anything - will keep checking - I think you HAVE to speak to someone tomorrow to get your head round it a bit more.

bloodyhell!!!!!!!!

mummyhill · 11/04/2008 07:14

Wow twinkling, I am sat here crying, I am so happy for you. Well done that little bean and at the hospital for not doing an internal before the D&C.

Take care of your self hunni you have a very special little baby there.

Oblomov · 11/04/2008 07:32

Wow Twinkling, This Is GREAT
God, what a shock. Scarey , that they put you through this.
Welcome back - in the most unusual circumstances - have we had a returner before ????

dozymare · 11/04/2008 07:42

twinkling OMG OMG OMG That is an amazing story...I was so sad to see you leave the group last week as no-one was feeling the cheese and you know what thing quie like us!!!

I am really speechless and think the hospital have been very negligent....I seem to remember from your original posting of what was going on that they were absolutely adamant....remember I said to you perhaps get a 2nd opinion and wait a while before doing D+C straight away???? I also thought a D+C was complete so either way they have not done their job properly.

BUT..actually forget that, you are going to have a baby!!! that is the most precious thing and you must feel so blessed....That LO is a real fighter and you must focus on that for now!

Welcome back..let's celebrate with some rice and cheese!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG TF, just saw your news this morning, that is absolutely amazing! What a little fighter you've got there! Fingers crossed for an uneventful pregnancy from now on eh
I agree with the others that you should try to get some answers out of the hospital though once you feel up to it. Fabulous news though, still can't believe it!
Welcome back anyway , glad to have another in the rice & cheese camp
Welcome to the newbies too - this has got to be one of the biggest AN threads hasn't it?!
Hope those suffering with ms at the moment aren't feeling too bad today...

ceebee74 · 11/04/2008 08:49

Twinklingfairy - OMG OMG OMG . Am so very very pleased for you - what a lovely heartwarming story that is. Try not to focus on the negative parts of it and just focus on your little determined beanie! I am sure I read that is what happened to the 57 year old woman who has given birth - she was told she had miscarried but 7 months later she found out one had survived - they thought that she was carrying twins and she had lost one.

Mad4mybaby - I am finding it difficult coping with my DS tbh - it is really hard work. Fortunately (for him and me I think) I am only at home with him by myself one day a week as I work 4 days (DS is at nursery) and DH is at home at the weekends - but on those days it is just me and him, I am really snappy with him which is not like me at all. He is a master in the art of procrastinating which normally doesn't bother me and I let him do things at his own pace but at the moment, it is really winding me up. I know I shouldn't let it and I am really trying to make an effort to stop myself shouting at him I am full of admiration of those of you at home full-time with your toddlers whilst feeling like s**t - at least at work, I can hide in my office and switch off if I need to.

Right am trying to psych myself up - have to go on a 2-hour round trip to a meeting now with a male colleague (who fortunately is driving) whilst trying to hide the fact I feel like puking - have packed some cheese butties which I am going to have to crack open at about 10ish and pretend I didn't have time for breakfast - oh the lies, the lies!! Wish me luck ladies!

serendippity · 11/04/2008 09:52

twinkling Sitting here crying How brilliant, brilliant for you, so thrilled. How the hell has this happened? I am going to have to bore dp with this when he gets home, and i never bother telling about about MN as he never listens
Well i am knackered this morning, i appear to have some sort of insomnia. Woke at 3.00am didn't go back to sleep till 5.00am {yaaawn} Pain in my Abdomin is still there, but i'm trying not to worry.
I have eaten a raw carrot and had 2 cups of decaf tea..feeling ok so far fingers crossed!
Ceebee- i am increadibly relieved that dd is in nursery in the morning, i need this rest. One of the reasons we planned this pregnancy for now is that dd is at nursery in the morning and at school full time from September..really, really selfish i know, but i knew i'd need that time

smilesattheweekend · 11/04/2008 10:02

Twinkling - bloody hell!!!

My mum told me some time ago that she thought I was one of a twin. She was told she had had a mc but then realised she was pg, the dates didn't make sense and she is sure that she lost one and kept me - maybe you have experienced the same. I am so pleased for you. I have had 4 mc, and even bled when I had my son, am 9 weeks now and have had 3 scans already - next one will be on 23rd April, I count the days and look forward to it, I get nervous a few days before and I am sure you will the same but when you see a little bean on there with the HB it is amazing - please take it easy though - I know it is hard but leave off the hoovering and suchlike and take a break when you can!

Good luck!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 11/04/2008 10:14

Twinkling, OMFG!!!! What an amazing bit of news to wake up to, I am absolutely thrilled for you (Now step away from google, it will cause nothing but panic which isn't good for you!) I have to say though, I would be more than a little cross with the NHS for doing a D&C when there was still a healthy bean in there. I am sure that everything will turn out fine. Your bean is a fighter!

Well, the weather is thoroughly depressing today, it is a stay in bed kind of day, pity I have the boys here, lol! Oh well, I am sure they would like to do some painting or other such thing.

mabel1973 · 11/04/2008 11:11

twinkling - i don't know your whole story as I am new on here, but from what I have just read that is amazing - congratualtions. You have a fighter there!

I dropped DS1 off at pre-school this morning, and he was crying when I left
He was pushed last week and he pushed the boy back and the boy fell over and cut his head, so i think that has shocked him a bit and now he doesn't like going any more..

dozymare · 11/04/2008 11:33

Hi Mabel how old is your DS??? Has he kust started????

pinkyminky · 11/04/2008 12:47

Twinkling Welcome back!! Wow that is absolutely wonderful news. You definitely have some serious questions to ask about your care, but for the moment, I would just enjoy the wonderful news. I was so upset for you when you left our group and I'm delighted for you now!
