Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

Hi everyone, glad you are all ok. Last pgy I got clothes from dorothy perkins and marks and spencers.

Been to see MW today who gave all the blurb about how you should bf (I wanted to with DS but had terrible problems, won't go into detail but it didn't work out, one MW told me my boobs were too big! only 42dd! Anyway, I told her I wanted to try again with this one. The MW was ok, can't beleive appt took an hour just to go through stuff. She took some blood etc and will get my 20 week scan sorted out. Don't have to go back until mid June (due to holidays). I got the fetal doppler in the post today and tried it when I got home, I could hear the hb quite clearly - was amazing - not bad for £15. Only thing was it was delivered to work and the lady who opened the post is quite nosey, the box had written on the back fetal doppler - not sure whether she realised or whether she is keeping quiet!!

Anyway 11+3 today!!!!

Will try and keep up with you all.

x

I wouldn't go shopping for maternity stuff before, as I was paranoid that someone would see me and word would get round - I'm a teacher, so there are a lot of potential spying eyes in town!! Now that I have told work, will try to go soon. Can also start wearing the stuff my sis has lent me - I was paranoid someone would notice a label or something before!

dozymare · 28/04/2008 18:53

Oh smiles where did you get a doppler from for £15?! I feel a bit more confident now about getting one!

tegan · 28/04/2008 18:59

lol dh has said the same thing that if we have twins one has to go on ebay immediately

LolaBella · 28/04/2008 19:03

Lolis and Tegan
I would love twins, def only one in there though.

tegan · 28/04/2008 19:13

I have my scan next week so will find out for sure then.

I really don't know how i would cope with a 10 yr old a 4 yr old and twins.

Lolis · 28/04/2008 19:22

Well LolaBella, if I have twins I'll post one to you. No one will ever know, if we give birth at around the same time! Foolproof and everyone's happy!

I was really paranoid that people would notice my stretchy-pocket maternity jeans, as I've been wearing them for a month now. Grew out of my jeans really early and didn't want to buy new ones that were just a bigger size and then buy maternity jeans later. I think people have noticed, but I've got to the stage of not caring!

Anyway, by this time tomorrow, if all goes well the cat will be out of the bag and the beans spilled!

Lolis · 28/04/2008 19:33

Oh God, now I'm convinced I'm having twins!

dozymare · 28/04/2008 19:38

dozymare · 28/04/2008 19:44

Oh I forgot Cherry Yog is my fav....pudding BUT it has to be greek Total with Cherry compote..I am stock piling it!!!!!

Are you excited for tomorrow??! What time is it?

lackaDAISYcal · 28/04/2008 19:47

I did worry about twins due to excessively looking pregnant even at eight weeks, as the risk of fraternal twins (ie more than one egg released at a time) increases with age. I read somewhere that this is also more likely if you get pregnant quickly after stopping birth control pills.

Lolis · 28/04/2008 19:48

10 oclock...I'm really excited but quite nervous too. Butterflies just thinking about it! Having massive mood swings today!

dozymare · 28/04/2008 19:49

that's understandable - is it your firt scan this PG? How many DC do you have already??

Lolis · 28/04/2008 19:49

AAAAAAAAGH I got pregnant two weeks after coming off the Pill! You lot are freaking me out!!!!

Lolis · 28/04/2008 19:50

Yes it's my first scan and first pg. I'm a scan virgin

dozymare · 28/04/2008 19:50

lacksa you have 2 DS as well if I remember correctly????

dozymare · 28/04/2008 19:53

Lolis you have done really well to find MN before you have even finished the 1st trimester in your 1st pregnancy!!! I didn't find it until about 10months ago and have a 4 year old and 22m year old!!! Mind you, maybe that's a good thing, as I am getting a little hooked

Lolis · 28/04/2008 19:58

I'm pretty hooked too, it's definitely affecting my ability to do an honest day's work!

pinkyminky · 28/04/2008 20:21

Soon you will be more worried that you DC affects your ability to type!
I am on a cheese salad sandwich with coleslaw (prolly illegal) with banana milk shake to follow, at regular intervals.

Lolis- enjoy your scan tomorrow, and meeting your new babies baby

Lolis · 28/04/2008 20:32

Ha ha ha

lackaDAISYcal · 28/04/2008 21:07

.....soooooorrrrreeeee lolis!

yup, I have DS, 5 (well nearly 6) and DD, 10.5 months.....2mcs in between to explain the huge gap!

photos on profile (but excuse the BFing ones at the top, they were on there for another thread and i haven't taken them off yet!)

lackaDAISYcal · 28/04/2008 21:08

baked potatoes with cheese and coleslaw for me, or crunchy nut cornflakes and full fat milk!

pinkyminky · 28/04/2008 21:13

If you look on my profile, I've had tandem pregnancies- my children are only 6 months apart!
I like your feeding photos, I wish I had some of me feeding mine. DH took one of me hooked up to the huge rented breastpump, but I don't think I'll be sharing it!
