Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

snort yeah, she's a blast!
You just don't know where she is coming from at all!

I was in a wee side room to myself when I was in but I totally felt at ease with the midwives and was so much more relaxed with them when I had DD.
My poor mum was so worried about me though

Hopefully I will be able to feel stronger when I tell SIL, No, this time. Last time I tried subtlty, hints, then heavy hints and was finally told, sorry we have booked the dates and the accomodation, you are, and I quote 'stuck with us.'

twinklingfairy · 27/04/2008 22:59

Pinky? Your profile says you have a son of 2 and a daughter of 18 months, how does that work??

pinkyminky · 27/04/2008 23:02

My mum went very pale when I told her I was pregnant this time. She was VERy worried.
I know what you mean about the hospital. I knew as soon as I was admitted to Wythenshawe that I had made the right choice for my second child, my care was soo much better. They don't put pregnant ladies with ANY complications on the maternity ward, but on the obs and gynae- hence the cancer patients. Some of the poor women on the maternity wards at St Mary's, surrounded by people with their new babies- it just seemed cruel to me.

Yes I think the SIL needs the -very- direct approach!

pinkyminky · 27/04/2008 23:05

He's 3 next month!
They haven't put the months on there.
I need to put my pictures up.. I told Pinkkali I would..still folding laundry..

twinklingfairy · 27/04/2008 23:22

I was watching In her Shoes, now I must deal with my laundry, boo

cricri · 28/04/2008 11:42

Good luck to all those with scans today
Looking forward to seeing some more piccies!
We haven't had any twins on this thread yet have we? Wonder who it's going to be...
Hope everybody else is OK.

Heartmum2Jamie · 28/04/2008 11:42

Wow, not been on all weekend, you lot have been busy! Sorry, I can't possible catch up on everything.

Twinkling, good news from Friday, I did see that, lol!

Good luck to those with scans today!

We had a good weekend. We finally told the families about the baby! Everyone is super excited, which is nice. My Mum said she knew as soon as she saw me, my Grandparents did too, plus they were expecting the announcement for at least a year, lol! The inlaws are pleased, but surprised as they were so sure we were done. The only thing that bugged me was that everyone said they hoped it was a girl . I guess it is something I will have to get used to, but I was hoping to avoid that kind of pressure from the family. I am guessing boy (not that I have a strong feeling either way), DH is guessing girl. DS1 says girl, DS2 says boy, lol! So it's 2-2 in my house.

I have an appt with my OB consultant tomorrow, she will be arranging my appt for a fetal echocardiogram. The more I think about it, the more nervous I feel, but I am sure all is well. I hope she rings up to make the appt as I need to know as far advance as possible, otherwise dh likely won't be able to come with me (his work stuff is arranged 5 weeks in advance.)

I hope everyone has a great day!

I've put my scan picture upon my profile if anyone is interested.
Autumnlady- Good luck for this afternoon!

sorry to hear you are poorly again, Hana.
Does anyone else find having a shower a major sickness trigger?

pinkyminky · 28/04/2008 11:59

Heartmum, you'll get what you need. If it's another boy, more the merrier. People congratulated me on having one of each, as if I had any say in the matter. It's just part of the Things People Say When You're Pregnant routine. Very annoying at times.

Good NEws - I am having a baby

As you will gather from my posts last week, I was really really worrying about something having gone wrong - so much so that I saw the midwife counciller on friday who booked me for a "REASSURANCE" scan this morning - I made DH stay at home with the boys as I was so convinced there would not be a baby there (as happened before) Good news it is - strong heartbeat and very active!!!!

The sonographer was amazing considering I was in tears of happiness all the way through. We have our NT scan next Tuesday and I think I will let hubby come along to that as all good. They put me at 11 and 6 meaning I will be leaving my triplets in Oblomov and Hanaflower...New EDD is 11th November. Will update stats in a minute.

I have 2 DS's and really am not bothered what the flavour is as long as the baby is healthy!!! Of course a girl would be nice but having read in the Times Health Supplement on Saturday that the chemical environment of the women's "ladybits" determines sex more than anything else, I know I will have another boy (As due to PCOS I have high tesosterone levels) which is my chemical balance!!!!

I am so happy!!!!!!!!! {grin} [Grin]

Thank you lovely ladies for all of your support and kind words...I am hoping that like Pinkali I can chill a bit now!!!!!!!!!!

It is very reassuring to hear from others who have found their 'symptoms' have gone at 9 weeks. I've been feeling totally normal for a day or so now - apart from tiredness and slightly sore boobs. I feel incredibly lukcy not to have ms after reading about some of you poor things and how you suffer. Isn't it ridiculous that you start to worry you aren't suffering enough and something must be wrong?
Very lovely to do some gardening at the weekend - somehow all the veg seedlings coming up and being pregnant all seemed to be part of spring and life blooming! Now when I eat I think 'I'm improving my soil'!

obviously going slightly cuckoo for spring

pinkyminky · 28/04/2008 13:06

Dozy that is wonderful news! I am so pleased for you.
My cousin has four boys and she loves it.

Hana- I have a few friends who also had trouble with showers when pg. I am always sick after I have a shower. I don't know why.
RE: pics this is my first baby to be in profile on the dating scan, my other two were facing forwards and looked like little mekons!

serendippity · 28/04/2008 13:36

dozy congrats, wonderful news
Too many posts to respond to everyone! but good luck to all with scans today, it seems forever until mine, 15th of may I am 10 weeks tomorrow!
I've never heard of showers being a trigger tbh, but i have had another bout of ms yesterday and today.
The bbq we went to on sat wasn't too bad, but we had a birthday party on sun and by sunday afternoon i had to retreat to bed! bless dp, he's doing loooads with dd at the weekends while lie on my back on the sofa or in bed Having said that tho he is going surfing on fri until mon, i was wondering how i'd cope but i've decided to ask my mother to come and help, and we're meeting in london on saturday for the day
In regards to families after the birth, mine were all breaking the door down, dp's were very lovely and waited patiently until they were asked to come and basicaly with my family, because they all were so insistent that they were coming we told them in no uncertain terms that when we got tired or dd got overwhelemed we would be asking them to leave and they would have to go. They did
Anyway i am waffling, chat to you all later x

AutumnLady · 28/04/2008 13:47

Great news dozy!! am so pleased for you and hope that you can now just enjoy being pg!

I am having the conversation with dh about his mum visiting. she lives miles away and will need to stay but I have reminded her that we will no longer hae a spare room so perhaps a hotel may be best????!!! As I am having a cs the last thing I want is to have MIL there for a week or so when I am trfying to get into a routine. I have my mum offering to come and stay to help which will be ace as I know I can just fall asleep on the sofa and won't have to entertain her and she'll understand the problem with MIL is that she will also want to go out in the evening as she lives in the country miles away and London is all nice and shiny, but I think that partying will be the last thing on my mind.......

bubbaz · 28/04/2008 13:59

Great news Dozy i'm so pleased you have a nice active baby.
God luck to everyone else who has scans this week, heres hoping we get a week like the last one!
Hope everyone is well and those with MS aren't feeling too bad.

Pinkali37 · 28/04/2008 14:00

Morning All,

Wow there is so much to catch up on.

Congrats Dozy for the brilliant news/scan let's try and relax now.

Congrats to everyone else who has had their scan. And Good Luck to those having it this afternoon or this week.

I feel GOOD.... do not feel pregnant at all but not worried. Am 11 + 4 today. Still tired but probably not as much as I was plus food aversions I think are disappearing.

So went to dinner party on Saturday night and was knackered. Got myself into a tiz beforehand as we'd been out shopping and i wanted a sleep but didn't have time. Just to change the subject NO WHERE SELLS NICE MATERNITY STUFF ON THE HIGH STREET... HELP....

Anyway, so planned early night on Sunday BUT MIL had a fall so off to A & E for Dh and I, got out at 11.30pm. She had fallen on Saturday had a massive black eye, and when we saw her was talking utter CR*P i.e. gobbledigoop. Turns out she has bleeding on the brain. Have just been back to hopsital for another 4 hours as doc wanted to ask her questions in front of a family member. I AM SOOOOO TIRED..

Hoep everyone is well, am off to look at your scan photos. We are having babies and I just can not wait. Can't wait for the bump to show x

Pinkali37 · 28/04/2008 14:03

Pinky, great photo!!

Heart2 - Wow what an amazing view of your little one. Especially the bottom pic, you can really see the skull.

Had my scan this morning, and everything is fine! Also, there's only one baby, which I'm very relieved about!!

Had a rubbish night's sleep, convinced there would be nothing there, or no heartbeat. But we could see (and hear) the heart beating away, and it kicked it's legs a bit too. Was so cool!!!

Suddenly I feel like I can relax... except for the fact that I have to see the headmaster in half an hour to tell him, and I've just had confirmation of my promotion this morning!! Slightly unfortunate timing...

My EDD has moved by 2 days, which is exactly what I calculate from when I ovulated, which is good - now the 17th. If it had been moved any earlier than the 16th I wouldn't get my occupational maternity pay so that was also very good news!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 28/04/2008 14:23

Dozy, brilliant news about your scan!! Just 1 more day until that magic 12 weeks mark for you, woohoo! Oh, and for what you read in the paper, I am bound to have another boy too then as I reckon I have a fair bit of testosterone.

Pinky, Diddydinky is very cute, that's a great pic, lol! Love the name too!

Pinkali, I am really impressed with Tarquin's pics, it is really clear for 10+6. Amazing!

For all the fellow headache sufferers, I hope that I can offer a bit of reassurance that it does eventually get better. I have felt much, much better since I hit 13 weeks (13+5 today). I even had a drink of OJ last night and it didn't bring on a headache. I hope the rest of you follow suit.
