AussieDivaOnABreak · 10/04/2008 15:38

Oh PFJ so good to hear from you at last...please don't feel any pressure to get on here and tell us everything, just take it easy and in your own time - hugs and congratulations on the arrival of Jack.

Carey - are you telling me I could still be here with nothing to show for it in two more days? !!! These are more painful than BH tho, and I am due in 5 days so SURELY things will speed up...at least I can make myself believe it if I say it often enough!

EllieG · 10/04/2008 15:43

Oh am so glad you are OK PFJ I was worrying about you last night as had been so long without news. Jack is a great name too

I am here carey! [feels loved emoticon]

scamp - LOVE 'being pregheaded' - must remember that one LOL

sal - glad you are feeling a teensy bit better hon, would be great to see pics but you don't have a public profile x

Sorry you haven't had a baby yet VS

moomin - don't worry about feet in mouth hon, you weren't to know and is a natural assumption to make x
Sorry about your DS's hearing aids - but, like someone else said, they are very teeny tiny these days and sure he won't get much attention paid to them.

Had ante natal this afternoon so dropped DSD off at my Mum's - it finished really early so have come home for a lovely relax on my own and will pick her up about 5ish. Glad it's not just me getting stressy and tired by the sounds of things - I texted my sister all melodramatically this morning 'I can't cope!!!!!' etc, but after a bit of a sleep lo and behold, I can. Having said that though, I told DP firmly last night that I am NOT minding DSD next weekend and he will just have to tell them he can't work. They can't make him anyway.

EllieG · 10/04/2008 15:58

Incidentally - I have an almost constant sore throat now - is this normal or am I dying? [hypochondriac emoticon]

Carey87 · 10/04/2008 16:00

aussie - sorry, i didnt mean to make you worry! im 2 weeks away yet so your definately more than likely on the way surely, vey

ellie - yey!

pfj - got to ad, jack is a fantastic name

Cxx

scorpio1 · 10/04/2008 16:00

PFJ - glad you are ok, we were all worried

Ellie - i feel like crying at the thought of one more sodding school run; am so tempted to ask DH to take the day off tomorrow to do school, house, and shopping etc. Am 40 weeks tomorrow. I'm so tired today despite going to bed at 9pm last night, lol.

Carey87 · 10/04/2008 16:01

and yes ellie - your arms and legs are about to fall off

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 10/04/2008 16:02

YAY PFJ!!! Congratulations on the birth of Baby Jack!! I'm so sorry to hear you had a time of it and I hope you feel better soon. [hugs]

EllieG · 10/04/2008 16:05

I knew it! I always thought that there must be something interesting and possibly life-threatening wrong with me. Ooo I love a good ailment.

scorpio - perhaps you should ask him to take a day off? I am going to do same with DP tonight have decided. In fact, I am going to ask him to take 2 days off next week, and said to him last night firmly that I wanted him to take out DSD at the weekend without me. I don't think that's too much to ask of them to help out a wee bit more when we are heavily PG with their children. After all, they can't do anything else to help out really can they?

sagitta · 10/04/2008 16:07

DH off again tomorrow on a stag weekend. Four out of five weekends in a row without him...

Hope you girls have better luck getting your DP/Hs to do the right thing!

scorpio1 · 10/04/2008 16:08

Ellie - i just fee llike its taking the piss...would mean losing a big enough sum of money, ds2 is at nursery 9-12, i should be able to cope with that ffs, just so tired come this time of day. We get paid tomorrow and TBH i dont want to go round sorting out bills etc tomorrow in my quiet time, also could do with going food shopping etc etc...just fee llike i should be able to cope, thats all.

scorpio1 · 10/04/2008 16:09

Sagitta - can you tell him you dont want him to?

scorpio1 · 10/04/2008 16:10

i know DH will in a heartbeat for me, just am one of those 'copers' and dont want to appear like i can't.

BTW - i asked DH about Teasy (he's from London) and he said he did not know what it was until he moved here...im still really that i didnt know, and now i must talk like a country bumpkin, lol

EllieG · 10/04/2008 16:15

I know what you mean scorpio - I can say to everyone else that I need a break but for some reason can't to DP generally. Having said that, you are 40 weeks PG. You are not going to cope with normal stuff as well as you would otherwise, and it is no reflection on you at all. Better to lose a bit of money than end up really stressed out, if you can possibly manage it x

EllieG · 10/04/2008 16:15

And I don't know about Teasy either - explain please!

scorpio1 · 10/04/2008 16:16

i can't cope with anything, not even cooking at the mo, lol! Have totally gone off food as well

You should be able to tell dp more than anyone, Ellie.

scorpio1 · 10/04/2008 16:17

So Ellie doesn't know what Teasy means either?!?

I thought everyone knew it, but Sagitta (i think) found out its a local Cornish word that only people here know, but i thought it was English iyswim.... it means Moody, ratty, etc etc.

sagitta · 10/04/2008 16:19

Poor scorpio - so sorry to hear that you can't cope, but totally understandable. ready-made meals/ take-aways is the best way to go. And sofa for you.
I'm dead tired today too.

Can't tell DH not to go - its our best friends' do, and the wedding is on due date, and I am definitely going! I'm off to stay with my mum though, so she can help with DD.

ToastAddict · 10/04/2008 16:24

Yay PFJ!!! Congrats
Sorry it didn't go smoothly but at least he's out and safe and well, and you're home And I can sleep tonight without worrying [crazy MN stalker emoticon]

Blimey, I really feel for everyone who has other kids to look after - today I have ummmm, sat and MN'd, ummm, gone to bed for a nap, ummmm, just spent an hour or so chatting and drinking coffee with my MIL and ummm, that's it. And I'm knackered and feel entitled to another nap!! God knows what I'd do if I had to look after someone else I need to go to the library and to pick up some more Gaviscon, but honestly have not got the energy
Fortunately, DH is being an absolute star and looking after me He is doing so much round the house, and when I say "I feel so guilty at not helping, I'm not doing anything" he says "you're growing my child, I think that's quite a lot!!!" Awwww

scorpio1 · 10/04/2008 16:24

Oh i'm not that bad just hard to do even small things now at 40 weeks...will get takeaway again tonight, and do kids beans on toast in a sec, they had school dinners today so good food (healthy school).

EllieG · 10/04/2008 16:26

'Tis a good word, I like it.

Yes, I think I need to have a chat with DP tonight - it's not that I can't tell him, it's just I feel like I should be able to cope IYSWIM? His ex was very demanding by the sounds of her, and couldn't cope with anything, and took all her shit out on him and so he ended up having to be the strong one all the time as she couldn't cope with anything else. I like it that he thinks of me as being really chilled and level-headed most of the time, and says how easy I am to be with, so I guess I try and maintain that for him. But he won't fall apart if I say I need a bit more of a hand, and he is lovely and will do it, can't expect him to be a mind reader bless him.

Right, am off for a little sleep now before get DSD....
