Off now to give ds a bf - he had a formula top-up earlier on today but I'm reluctant to give him any more - am struggling to be honest, but going to try my hardest to keep up the bf .... night, all!

Hi All
Maya Alice was born at 5.50 am on 12 April weighing in at 8 pounds 15.5 ounces. She has the biggest cheeks I've ever seen and is just so yummy.
Just got home from hospital today as Maya had to be on antibiotics as a precuationary measure as she was born 25 hours after my waters broke.
Still a bit shell shocked by it all to be honest- but will write my birth story tomorrow. All I'll say to those still waiting is embrace the epidural!
And oh, I went into labor the day after I had my first acupuncture session.

morning all!

well after having contractions that started at about 3am till 11 am and went from 5 mins to 4 mins and then 3 mins and lasted for 30 seconds, they stopped! just like that! i was soooooooooooooooooo pi**ed off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my bump dropped by about 3 foot though! still got a few twinges and genarally shocking pains throughout the day, went to bed at about 9.30 and they started again, and then stopped!!! i am knackered today!

got midwife appointment this morning, do you reckon if iu asked her she would have a poke inside and tell me if anything is happening?

Oh my goodness me! look at all these babies since last I posted here ... I think I need to give HUGE congratulations to : bunnyrabbit, honeybee, V1KK1M, Fleecy, CeylonSapphire, Aussiediva and Egyptianprincess. I may have already conratulated some of you, but my brain doesn't register much at the mo ... more fixated on feeding times and keeping a 3.10 year old occupied during the hols!

Hope all are well and look forward to hearing birth stories etc.

Carey you can always ask they wont do a sweep until your 40 weeks usually I asked yesterday and was told I had to wait! so am booked in for the 28th which seems a life time away but if you just want her to have a look I sure they will I believe they did for VS.

I am off out for "quality time" with my mum - we are going to a National Trust house for a bit of a walk, look round the house (not usually possible as normally have 3 yr old DS in tow) and then yummy lunch at the restaurant.

Carey, sounds like you are going through the same thing I went through on Sunday. I had contractions most of yesterday again but this time about 30 mins apart, then sometime in the early hours of this morning they just stopped. Baby kicking away fine though. At least I got a bit of sleep. Feel a bit more ready now for the real deal. Hopefully next time contractions start up it will be for real otherwise I'll be exhausted by all these false starts and delivery will be extra hard. So she's welcome to stay inside as long as there is no drama until she is fully ready to come out

My Mum is on the plane and I have Doc appointment late morning. Wonder if the Doc will have a poke around to get things started...

Bunyanvillas, well done you for persevering (that looks wrong) with the BF, its def not an easy job in these first weeks. Each LO needs to learn what they are doing so even if youve done it before its another uphill challenge to start again isnt it? Aeryn is feeding every 3 hours which isnt too bad apart from its 1 hour to 90 mins at a time at the moment, cant wait till she speeds up a bit, hopefully before DH goes back to work.

x posts, Molly MW literally puts 2 fingers into opening of cervix (if she can) and will sweep ound in a circle to try and stretch it. Take a pad with you just in case sometimes bleed a little or some 'show' may come away. When I had done with DS uncomfortable but not painful.

I asked my midwife to look at 39+3 weeks and she was happy to go ahead with sweep if i was open, which i wasn't! She's trying again today 40+3 hopefully i will have progressed. Also trying Clary Sage and Caulophyllum now! along with the usual RL tea etc! Please come out!!!

Having planned a home birth the idea of hospital and induction seems a double disappointment. Hopefully we wont make it to next tues as they induce at 10 days here.

Velbels if you do get to that stage could you request to leave any induction till 40+14?

Thanks for the info on the sweep ladies. it seems to be what I was calling an internal. I'm 40+2 so if I'm a bit open (which I should be as have had a show?) I guess a sweep could be in order!
