scorpio1 · 14/04/2008 13:37

yeah would be nice to have someone look after me too

god i am so cross today since i heard baout my friend. how stupid am i???

VictorianSqualor · 14/04/2008 13:38

Scorpio, I've been like it for days, every time I've ehard about someone having their baby, naturally I hate them ever so slightly for at least 30 seconds

scorpio1 · 14/04/2008 14:08

and i think i am being very silly because its only 9 days until they will smoke her out anyway, so whatever way you llok at it i am having a baby, hopefully VB, hopefully at home, so maybe i should stop whinging?? Just feels so unfair, especially as this is the most pg i have ever been by a week in my life. Also never been overdue before and am worried about my placenta, becuase of the placental lakes?

chipmonkey · 14/04/2008 14:09

Fabulous news, Aussie! Sorry to hear you had to go to hospital. Enjoy your lovely daughter!

PortAndLemon · 14/04/2008 15:00

I used ElleTens, started on lowest level and put it up a notch whenever I felt it wasn't really taking the edge off properly any more. Took about two hours to get up to the top level, by which point it was time to leave for the hospital.

Had DD weighed today (15 days old) and she's up to 10lb 2oz. So the constant feeding is achieving something, at least...

sagitta · 14/04/2008 15:03

HI all,

Too knackered to write, but I just wanted to say congrats to Aussie and fleecy. Being a SAHM today, and I have to go to bed now as DD is finally asleep.

VictorianSqualor · 14/04/2008 15:06

I got my bath, and had another show, still white though, none of this pinky tinged with blood stuff.
Bloody body decides to sloooooooooooowly start doing what it's meant to way too bloody late!

bunyanvillas · 14/04/2008 15:13

Hello - very quickly checking in, between continuous feeds! How is everyone doing? PaL well done for such a great weight gain (baby, that is - not you!). ds has regained his birthweight of 6lb 14oz as of today (at 12 days old). It's hard work with the bf to be honest and I am trying to hang on in there but have had to top up twice with formula. Determined, tho, to keep the bf going. Oooh Aussiediva, have just had a quick scroll down and seen your news - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! And what a beautiful name. Hope you are both doing ok and that you are eating and drinking well to recover. Will check in again soon to see how everybody is

bunyanvillas · 14/04/2008 15:14

Ooooh VS - sounds promising!! Good luck!

Blush
moominsmummy · 14/04/2008 15:20

Bunyan - hope bf gets easier soon - my mum (who was BF counsellor for 20+yrs) always recommends lots of cake.

High fat and calorie input = high fat and calorie output = happy baby

eat cake! eat cake!!

Have just finished sorting out my kitchen cupboards as were a mess - I now have all the tins etc together and now discover I have 8 tins of strawberries. think they may last us some while........

PortAndLemon · 14/04/2008 15:21

bunyan -- when we are both up to it we should get together with our various DCs (always sounded as though my DS and your DD would get on).

You need a laptop with Internet access on your sofa -- makes a big difference to feeds!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 14/04/2008 15:53

Congratulations Aussie!! Lovely name for your little girl!

Going for a nap now after a very productive day... chat later...

TLSM · 14/04/2008 15:54

Congrates Aussie although that must have been pretty scary puts my moaning into prospective!

knitters god girl they are a set to be proud of!

How are the baby movements now scorpio? did the clary sage do anything it did nothing for me!

Mollyfloss · 14/04/2008 16:12

Awww to your pics Knitter. He's very cute!

LOL at Scorpio's friend!

Back from the NCT get together. Was a really good idea to get out and to see little babies and other pg women about to pop. Had some random contractions while I was there and had some more since. Doc also called me as she heard I was on to the hospital this weekend. Was very nice of her. She was mostly concerned that I don't get completely exhausted before the real deal happens. Will try to rest this afternoon. Seeing her tomorrow morning.

Denny185 · 14/04/2008 16:39

Congratulations Aussie, hope your feeling better after all that blood and yeah to another girl on the list. Was thinking if stats are like this nation wide our DDs will have the pick of all these boys when they are 18.

VS sounds promising, is d-day tomorrow or Wed, have you got enough time?

Knitter - George is v hansome, how old is he now? PS those are some jugs George not going hungry there is he.

Molly - I had 3 nights like that with the on/off nothing consistant contractions and it all kicked off on the 4th night. Second what someone else said when its the real deal you will def know, until then sleep/rest and eat as much as you can.

Scorpio just think all that running up and down the stairs after Dh might be enough to do it for you, who was it suggested curb walking maybe you could go up and down sideways to mimick this?

VictorianSqualor · 14/04/2008 16:44

Tomorrow Denny, I'm hoping to follow in your footsteps and get started before they do!
Nah, tbh I'm used to the idea of a CS now, I still don't want it, but oh well, tomorrow I'll have a baby and all this thought of is it labour?isnt it? is going to be out of the window.
It's so surreal though!

KnitterInTheNW · 14/04/2008 16:48

George was 3 weeks on friday Denny...

My jugs aren't that big, must be the angle of the camera or something

Denny185 · 14/04/2008 16:48

Certainly more impressive than my fried eggs

EllieG · 14/04/2008 16:49

'Lo all!

Hurray for Aussiediva! Fab name and so glad it went well. Piccies as soon as you can manage them please!

Have just read all the messages but now can't remember what any of them said - 'pregheaded' obviously!

Dropped DSD off at my Dad's at 10.30 this morning and came back and slept til 3! Was soooo lovely....

scorpio - how dare your friend be so inconsiderate! Does she not know there's a queue?

Thanks for name suggestions ladies, have added to my list and will run them past DP when he gets home. Another evening of bickering awaits....

Whoever 'twas said they had not had false starts - I am same. Nuffin. Bit of bellyache when taking raspberry leaf but nothing since I ran out of caps. No show, nuffin. Have a feeling this one is too comfy in there!

Denny185 · 14/04/2008 16:49

He looks older than 3 weeks, v good looking chap

VictorianSqualor · 14/04/2008 16:49

What people are forgetting Knitter is that they are seeing boobs without a belly, so of course they look huge, we'll all have massive knockers for a while!
Also they are in comparison to a wee little boys head!

KnitterInTheNW · 14/04/2008 16:50

VS, this time tomorrow you won't give a monkey's about anything other than the fact you'll have your baby. I'm sort of glad my waters went early and I went in & had my section straight away, it didn't give me any time to worry or even think too much about it! You'll be absoloutely fine, and we'll all be thinking of you x

EllieG · 14/04/2008 16:51

They are that big knitter, stop kidding yourself. I would be very grateful for them if I were you - bet your DH is well chuffed!

George is SUCH a gorgeous boy!
