carey, my DP is the same. nothing ever wakens him during the night and it takes AGES in the morning to get him awake. (he promised to take on nappy-duty during nights, so I'm really how this will work out... )

Christmaspixie: It's good that we are fairly zen waiting for these LO's but I know what you mean about eating like a pig. I can't stop In fact I just had a ton of chocolate truffles As for my size 8 jeans - well I have gone on enough on this thread wondering how I will ever get my figure back

I'm due tomorrow according to a scan I had at 8 weeks but by dates I was due on the 7th! I think the scan dates are much more reliable especially if given really early (when all babies are the same size). EDD's based on dates consider that you have an average 28 day cycle but mine was more like 35 or 36 so it makes sense that my EDD would be a bit later.

Me too! After month of no alcohol a glass of wine would probably make me really groggy though and then if I went into labour I'd be a right mess... can't believe I haven't drunk alcohol in 9 months...

OMG Carey!!!! LOL. My aunt was telling me last week that it's gin I should be drinking at this stage - not sure that's good advice though

I love a gin and tonic. Was whinging at my sis about being PG the other day and she said 'Never mind, in a few more days it'll all be over and you can drink gin again'. What a nice thought.

DP has taken DSD out for a walk just her and him hurrah. He is not very good at arranging activities without me being a part of them it must be said, he is a little bit disorganised bless his little heart.

Ellie: you can definietky have next Friday. My DH wants me to go into labour on any day except for that day. He has a very important day at work on Friday that we have known about for ages. I'm sure Sods law will dictate that the baby will come that day!

Oo, since you are here VS you might be able to answer a question - my evening primrose caps seem quite big - they are 1000 mg. Is that too much? Didn't get the usual ones as they had fish oil in but they looked smaller.

Hi All,

Haven't had time to catch up but thought I would give you an update.

Zara Mia Martin was born at 8:30am on 9th April 2008 weighing 7lb 10oz.

Contractions started at 4pm on 8th (whilst out at lunch). They started every 4 mins apart and didn't let up. I didn't think it was the real thing as I was expecting a gradual build up. At 7pm I decided that it was not the real thing, (the contractions timer website was fantastic) with them being every 3-4 mins lasting 40-60 secs. By 9pm I was in hospital as I couldn't cope with the continuous pain (all plans for a natural birth went out the window). I was 2cm when I went in. I had an epidural at 11pm. 4cm at 3am. When I was examined at 7am the following morning I was ready to push and after 30 mins of pushing she arrived.

She had pooped inside so we had to stay in for 24 hours but she is fine and has a very healthy set of lungs.

I couldn't take to breast feeding. I didn't latch her on right so I got really sore nipples (which started to bled yesterday) so I have decided to bottle feed (although I am beating myself up a little that I know it is not the best option.

Anyway I will keep checking in on all you still expecting and good luck.

That's fine Ellie, just take one a day orally and one a day vaginally, increasing to two a day orally, the average size is about 500ml and they are meant to be taken in twos so one will be fine.

Aww V1KK1M - congratulations!!!! Glad it all went ok for you and I'm sure that she is beautiful. Please do not beat yourself up about breast feeding. The main thing is that Zara is happy and thriving and that YOU are happy and thriving! We all have to do what works best for us and baby and no doubt you are doing a brilliant job!
