Go Scorpio! Go PFJ!

We're off out in a bit for George's hearing test, how on earth do they check an 11 day old's hearing? Guess we'll find out! The midwife weighed him yesterday and he was just 7lb, so we're doing ok. She also looked at my scar/cut/whatever it is at the mo, it's been very itchy. Said I had a heat rash and get some cream from the doc. Doc took one look and said it's a fungal infection (nice) and I have to wash it no more than once a day, dry it with a hairdryer(?!) and slather it with canesten cream. I thought the glamour was all over now I'm not pg any more but itseems I was wrong!!

ThePFJ · 01/04/2008 13:36

yes please moomin.. need a distraction....

moominsmummy · 01/04/2008 13:42

the mumsnet mates thing doesn't seem to work so I've left it open for all to view the photos..

ThePFJ · 01/04/2008 13:46

Even with the attitude

moominsmummy · 01/04/2008 13:48

awww - thanks pfj

Scorpio - what did the MW say??

moominsmummy · 01/04/2008 13:49

VS -sorry to hear it is likely to be a CS - when will you find out? hopefully it'll all start happening naturally very quickly especially as it's not your first -

Peachy · 01/04/2008 14:07

Don'tm panic yet VS- some women go from being closed cervix to 10cms in no time at all (i'm a no dilation before labour person meself, even with the induction I went from forst baby no cervical readiness and nto even at term to having baby with only 2 pessaries)

So you coulds till have your Vbac

and if you don't you will still get your gorgeous baby

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 01/04/2008 14:13

Moomins - your DS is ADORABLE!!!

eva07 · 01/04/2008 14:17

very cute moominsmummy

how are you doing, PFJ? fingers crossed for you!

hey vs, I'm really sorry. don't you have a few more days before they decide on a cs?

SuzeM · 01/04/2008 14:19

Moominsmummy, he's a little cutie.

moominsmummy · 01/04/2008 14:20

right-ho - off to see the MW for antenatal appt

p'haps scorpio will have delivered by the time i get back. she does do speedy labours.....

VictorianSqualor · 01/04/2008 14:24

Eva, I need your time of birth too.

ThePFJ · 01/04/2008 14:24

painpainpainPAIN o.O

PortAndLemon · 01/04/2008 14:33

This is good pain (allegedly). It is doing stuff. And it won't last forever. Every contraction you have is one more that you'll never have to have again and is bringing you one step closer to your baby arriving.

But it does really hurt. Sympathy.

eva07 · 01/04/2008 14:37

oh, sorry, vs. it's 10:20 a.m

Carey87 · 01/04/2008 14:40

Hi everyone.

Just got back from MW.

Baby is still head down which is good, but on notes it said 'coph' and 'free' therefore I presume baby not engaged

Feel really disapointed with myself.

Good luck Scorpio and PFJ!!

ThePFJ · 01/04/2008 14:49

am going to ask DP to take me into hospital in a mo i dont think i can cope with the pain that well atm. see you all soon.
xxx

eva07 · 01/04/2008 14:57

fingers crossed, PFJ!!

vs, have you tried homeopathy? just googled how to 'soften' the cervix, this was recommended: one day 3x7 Pulsatilla D4 globuli, next day 3x7 Caullophyllum D6 globuli, then start again.
caullophyllum is blue cohosh, by the way.

Peachy · 01/04/2008 15:24

Good luck PFJ

and Scorpio too

Me next please? I relaised that beofre the scan changed my dates, I was supposed to be due April 2nd! Have been crampy but no more, however have aflash new haircut now for the pictures LOL!

Friends funeral clashes with sweep so really hoping baby arrives now.

Dh off work ill tonight, has a bug- his colleagues gave it to him. Any idea how that afects whether they'll allow me a home birth anyone?

AussieDivaOnABreak · 01/04/2008 15:43

I'm sure you'll be fine for your HB Peachy, your hubby will be around the baby whether it's born at hospital or home, and your more likely to catch a bug in the hospital anyway.

VS - please don't stress, whenever you get round to it is fine by me, just make sure you rest when you can.

Be strong PFJ, really hoping all goes well for you.

AussieDivaOnABreak · 01/04/2008 15:49

By the way Moomins, your DS is going to be such a heartbreaker, what a cutie!! I'm a bit scared of the idea of having a boy to be honest, feel like I know where I am if I have a girl. Still as long as it's all healthy and in one piece, iykwim...I feel very blessed to be able to have a child at all frankly, so many friends of mine are on their umpteenth IVF cycle.

Sal22 · 01/04/2008 16:03

Good afternoon everyone. Finished work yesterday, spent most of morning a bit bored walking through Boots & Mothercare for last-minute things that I forgot, thought about how I'm going to miss work - then got home and realised NOPE, not missing work AT ALL :-D Obviously from Thursday I'll be very busy (or once out of the hospital anyway!), but can now happily spend the next two days doing as little as possible. Hahaha, even starting to enjoy daytime tele!

Good luck PFJ & Scorpio - can't wait to get the updates! xxx How exciting!

moominsmummy · 01/04/2008 16:47

aussie - i feel the same about having a girl - I know where i am with boys but a girl will throw me completely (will also struggle to say pleasant things to people who give us frilly, pink tat for a baby girl - I hate pink )

seen my MW (who says jokingly that I am very boring as have same BP everytime and everything as it ought to be) - baby is Ceph (head down) and "on the brim" which means just descending into pelvis but not engaged (suits me as don't want it to arrive for another 4 weeks at least as have too much nesting to do)

apparently though baby is currently back to back but she says this is not much to worry about in 2nd pg as baby as more flexibility to move even once labour has started

TLSM · 01/04/2008 16:58

Good luck PJF and scorpio

Have had a crap day all full up of cold and still have pink discharge
