OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
eva07 · 01/04/2008 10:54

hope it's the real thing, scorpio!!!

vs, would you mind doing my chart too? if you still have time, of course. I was born on Dec. 07, 1978 in Wels (little town in upper austria, seems like a hint from destiny as I'm living in WALES now... )

aussiediva, could you please send me this sheet too?
my mail is evadotsiebereratgmxdotat thanks

I'm waiting for my MW too but she didn't give me an exact time, just 'AM'.

eva07 · 01/04/2008 10:57

x-posts again, scorpio
yay for you! this baby-popping-stuff all around is really exciting

PortAndLemon · 01/04/2008 11:01

Random thoughts...

Baby Whisperer: Generally pretty good IMO, but is crap on breastfeeding (or at least, what she says about breastfeeding will work for some but isn't good general advice). Pick-up-put-down is her metthod for babies over 3 or 4 months; before that she suggests shush-pat, which always sounded tricky to do to a baby sleeping on its back. I think pick-up-put-down does work if you stick at it; not tried it myself but know people in RL who have.

Contented baby: IIRC early days go something like "07.45: Eat half a slice of toast while expressing precisely 2oz of milk from left breast. 08.00: Feed baby for precisely 15 minutes from right breast..." Was left wondering how I would fit in bathroom visits . More crap on breastfeeding than the Baby Whisperer.

Ellie, have your DP responsible for fetching baby for all night feeds; he'll soon want her close too .

Peachy · 01/04/2008 11:07

PAl said exactly what I wanted to on that book - she is braver than me LOL!

Go Scorpio

Off to hairdressers, deserve a treat I reckon

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 11:13

had a big contraction then, really big.

I bet i will be here tomorrow, Millie-less.

AussieDivaOnABreak · 01/04/2008 11:14

You're right PAL on pick up/put down, unlikely to really use it until baby is a few months old. Shush pat I found sometimes worked with mine where I would put my hand on her chest instead of picking her up.

Ellie, my DH got up to change baby before bringing her to me in bed for feeds - she always needed changing in the middle of the night and believe me if you have to lie there nodding off for twenty minutes every two hours in the middle of the night it's the least your DP can do!

I've emailed the sheets guys. If anyone else wants one let me know. x

Good luck Scorpio! Hope it's not a false alarm

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 11:16

VS's contraction timer thing

PortAndLemon · 01/04/2008 11:21

Yes, I used that Sunday morning. It was very helpful.

AussieDivaOnABreak · 01/04/2008 11:24

Gotta go ladies, just to get DD out of the house and alleviate the waiting! By the way, if any of you London girls live near a Cook shop (frozen home made meals) they offer 10% discount to pregnant women. Huge good luck vibes to Scorpio and anyone else who starts getting the feeling today!

Annieroo · 01/04/2008 11:26

Thank you for the spreadsheet

PortAndLemon · 01/04/2008 11:32

Now why couldn't you have told me that on Saturday?

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 11:36

i was sick

PortAndLemon · 01/04/2008 11:44

That could be promising. I'm always sick in early labour.

moominsmummy · 01/04/2008 11:47

having a weird few days - I used to like the feel of the baby wiggling around and getting hiccups etc but for the last two days it has really been freaking me out and I don't like the sensation at all (altho obviously v glad baby is lively as is good sign)

the thought of the baby moving around makes me feel quite nauseous - it's bizarre as i never felt like this last pg (or in this one until a couple of days ago)

am i just a bit weird?

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 01/04/2008 11:50

aussiediva, could you please send me the spreadsheet too? My e-mail addy is biancadotpaton@gmaildotcom. Thanks! And in answer to your other question, I am from Zimbabwe originally, but moved to South Africa in my teens. Have been in the UK for 10 years now (how the time has flown!)Love your part of the world and we will be applying for residency there after the baby is born! Need more sunshine!

Scorpio - GOOD LUCK honey! I hope little Millie is making her way out and that this time tomorrow you will be telling us all about the brilliant birth you had and how beautiful your little girl is!

PFJ - if you are out there let us know what's happening to you!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 01/04/2008 11:51

Moomins - that's exactly how I feel! I think it is because baby is quite big now that I feel this way.

eva07 · 01/04/2008 12:05

M2b2BR I'm there with you on the sunshine. and temperature. I need proper winters with looooots of snow and hot summers. otherwise it feels like there is a season missing.
guess you don't miss the snow though...

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 12:16

moominsmummy · 01/04/2008 13:25

have finally uploaded some photos of DS onto profile page - have set it up so only my "mumsnet mates" can view - hopefully I've got most people but let me know if not and can add you in!

VictorianSqualor · 01/04/2008 13:26

Good Luck PFJ and Scorpio.

Had my last antenatal appointment today and my cons tried to do a sweep for me but she couldnt do it as my cervix is pretty much closed
Looks like it's a CS for me then.

AussieDiva, I'll type up your chart a bit later I'm absolutely KNACKERED at the minute, couldnt sleep last ngiht cos of bad period type pains but obviously they werent for any good reason and DP is on half days this week so I think I'll get a nap in before I have DD and her friend running riot!

Those of you whose details I have I will do your charts, just can't promise when!
