I feel the same as you Aussie! Although this is my 1st baby, and so therefore really have no idea how do deal with a girl or boy, I feel like I know where I am with a girl too! Maybe it is because I am one! lol

Also saw my MW today - baby is head down, 4/5ths engaged and in the correct position! Good baby! Blood pressure a little low (but that's the norm for me) and I've been told to take an iron supplement to help with my (very lacking) energy levels. So all good!

PFJ - GOOD LUCK!! Hope all goes well and that we will be reading your amazing birth story soon!

VS - Sorry you are feeling so crappy - hope you got to have your nap.

AussieDivaOnABreak · 01/04/2008 17:46

M2B, we sound so similar. I have pretty low bp too (usually 90 over 60) and since I've been taking Floravital iron supplement feel so much more energetic. (sorry, just re-read that and it sounds like a bad ad )

I have my MW appointment tomorrow - loving the comparative luxury of having a home birth when they come to you and you get lots more time and attention! Suspect baby is still back to back but life is too bloody short to sit on my knees leaning on my birthing ball all evening.

moominsmummy · 01/04/2008 17:52

Can I join the low BP gang? mine is also 100 over 60. I am not a girly-girl at all so if i have a daughter this time I will have to farm her out to friends for make-up lessons etc - I'll be too busy playing rugby and making dens with the boys!

out of interest (and cos I am a sad pramaholic) what pram has everyone bought?

AussieDivaOnABreak · 01/04/2008 17:55

Oh god I succumbed to the Bugaboo and bought a Bee. In red. With a black cosy nest for my little one. I feel like such a sheep.

Tho it does look really, really good. (sheepish smile)

egyptianprincess · 01/04/2008 18:28

good luck pfj and scorpio! hope to hear lovely birth stories soon. good luck to vs too- you never know what can happen in the next couple of days so you might still be able to have your vbac.
yesterday i took rasperry tea leaf capsules, ate an entire pineapple and rubbed clary sage on my bump and NOTHING. today, went swimming, jogged up and down in the pool and ate pizza express' spiciest pizza and still NOTHING!! argh!!

Peachy · 01/04/2008 18:32

I've just got a Chico buggy, but I bought a really good sling- hate, hate hate carrycots (with DS1 MIL bought us one and it would take 45 minutes to assemble every time you got out the car- put me off for life LOL). Also, have really small hands which actually limits choice- bugaboo a no-no for example, as couldn't hold it without pain.

Aussie- you're lucky, I've planned a HB since day one but still have to attend MW's, you get about 5 minutes if you're lucky! Only had 2 home appointments, HB visit and the one last week where her clinic was too full to fit me in. She doesn't practice at the lcoal surgery either, so it's bus or drive.

christmaspixie · 01/04/2008 18:34

Ooooh, I've just been reading about Aries babies...they look very hard work!! 'Headstrong, always the leader, can't be told no, love a battle....etc etc! ' This little one will be the 3rd fire sign in the house (I'm Leo, DH is Sagittarius, there's a fair few sparks!) Poor Dd is Pisces! And the most well-behaved, happy, content, gentle and quiet little girl ever! I think I'm going to be in for a huge shock with this one! (And so will she!)Any ideas VS?

christmaspixie · 01/04/2008 18:36

Good luck again Scorpio and PFJ!! Can't wait to hear the stories, I hope Scorpio manages a home birth and can share all the details with us waiting for a homebirth!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 01/04/2008 18:41

Ha ha Chriatmaspixie - that discription sums up my family! Very hard work when you are the only Leo amoungst all Aries!

I have bought the iCandy Cherry. Mainly because it is so light. Also not a fan of the carrycot Peachy - which is why we didn't buy one.

Good to know the supplements work Aussie - will buy some tomorrow. I am by no means aneamic, but as the MW said, I normally have quite high levels of iron, and if they drop, which it has, then I will feel it - and I really do - I need my emergy back now or this baby will be coming home to a hovel!

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 18:48

Hey

MW came out and did an internal, i'm 3 cms but not effaced(thinned), have lost all show and Millie is totally engaged. Cx have slowed, am very niggly & achey. MW basically said not in labour yet because of cervix not thinned, but not long. I have had a sleep and DH has gone out for takeaway.

Dh is a bit deflated, lol, i am just in achey pain! Hoping it either kicks off or starts better tonight. Am not in labour though.

VictorianSqualor · 01/04/2008 19:02

christmaspixie, it really depends on the rest of your chart, you want to hope for a libran (or similar calming influence) moon to balance it out, (the 18/19/20th of this month is libran moon).

DD is sagittarius and DP is leo, I'm capricorn, as is DS, but it's me and DD that clash the most.

VictorianSqualor · 01/04/2008 19:03

Meant to say AussiDiva, your birth chart has been emailed.
Tell me if it's totally inaccurate won't you!

Sal22 · 01/04/2008 19:26

I'm the worst pram-buyer in the world... I think I've decided ages ago on the Bugaboo Bee despite being ready to hate it when the search started, but now DH likes the Maclaren XT better (urgh, that's after he's gone through the Silver Cross Buzz stage - which I also liked btw), and now I've gone all confused... We want something light and small for London really, no travel system etc, but I just can't make up my mind. I almost wish DH would say we HAVE to go with M, but saying "but whatever you choose is fine with me" doesn't help me at all, because I'm just plain rubbish deciding lately! Help me!!!

At least I am borrowing someone's sling so not having a pram yet is not the end of the world, but even the guys at work laughs at me and gave me a book on baby wrapping (which has loads of "make it yourself" slings in it) as part of my leaving gift! As baby will be here day after tomorrow I guess I could always take him with me to choose his own pram - can't take longer than I am, can it???

Sal22 · 01/04/2008 19:27

Scorpio - good luck for the night - whichever way it goes!

moominsmummy · 01/04/2008 19:30

lol Sal at your pram dilemmas!

FWIW the maclaren xt is fab and you will get value for money out of it. even the best travel system will be ousted in favour of a lightweight buggy eventually.....

pram buying is just one little indulgence of pg!

ThePFJ · 01/04/2008 19:36

Hi everyone.
Say hello to false alarm number two.

I was 10 mins apart for hours, then 5 mins.. now its 20 mins.

I am trying to relax as much as I can but I gotta tell you this is really starting to do my head in.
Will have a long lie down now and see how chilled I can get.

Good luck scorpio.. haven't read much of the tnread so forgive me for not catching up.
xxx

AussieDivaOnABreak · 01/04/2008 19:37

VS you are amazing, thank you thank you. I've emailed you back. Ladies, inaccurate she is NOT! M2B - another supplement you can try (and anyone else for that matter) is CoQ10 (or Co Enzyme Q10). It helps to convert energy within your cells and it really helps to keep me going.

Speaking of supplements, I'm having bad luck at the mo with RL tablets. I have the tea but on the two occasions I've tried to buy the tablets the staff are telling me that the advice is now NOT to take the tablets and they've stopped stocking them. Has anyone else heard this?

Peachy that is so rubbish about your MW appointments, poor you. I just thought that everyone got the same treatment when having a HB. But it won't be for long will it . Re prams, I've got little hands too (and I'm 5 foot nothing) and the Bee is much smaller than the other Bugaboos. I would never have gone for the other types for the same reason, just way too big for me.

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and I have pencilled in a major business meeting in Dorset on Friday - 2 hours there and back...am I totally crazy? I'll have DH with me, but still...

PortAndLemon · 01/04/2008 19:47

We haave (somewhere...) a Pliko P3 Pramette from last time. Not specifically planning on a pram this time though -- intend to stick with sling then maybe get a Maclaren Quest for occasional use when DD gets to three months.

The Bugaboo Bee does look lovely, though.

SuzeM · 01/04/2008 20:05

PFJ and Scorpio, I'll be thinking of you.

PAL, what did you call your dd? My email address is [email protected].

Sal, I got the Mountain Buggy Breeze as I live in London too and wanted something light and easy to collapse. Have not used it yet though.

SuzeM · 01/04/2008 20:08

AussieDiva, I've bought the tablets in two different locations (Holland & Barrett and a place on the Kings Road). I hadn't heard that you shouldn't take them.

jenniejennie · 01/04/2008 20:16

Scorpio and PJF - hope you both have your babies soon, this is too much to bear!

MW and HV came round this morning and I kept bursting into tears. Good thing was they both told DH that it is normal to feel like this and there isnt anything I can do about it. I think that made us both feel better. HV is going to come and see me at home every week now before the birth - so she must be a bit worried about me. MW said she will do all my visits at the house now rather than the portocabin so she we can have more time together.

Went to see a friend from antenatal classes at lunchtime. First thing she said was that she was having panic attacks so along with all of you who have had them I feel even more normal now. Until friend asked what the doctor had said about it and I told her that he had referred me to the Priory! Im as mad as Kerry Katona, it's official! We both wet ourselves laughing at the thought I had been referred to the Priory for pregnancy panic attacks!!

Moominsmummy your son is sooooo cute!!!! I love him!

Fleecy · 01/04/2008 20:17

Scorpio and PFJ - sorry to hear you're not quite there but sounds like it's all starting to happen so good luck.

VS - thinking of you and sending cervix-opening vibes (there's a sentence I've never written before...)

Wishing it was my turn but still no signs at all. I really thought lo was going to come out last week so now that's gone, I feel like I've missed my window and I'm just going to be pregnant forever. Silly I know but it just doesn't feel like it's happening any time soon. Anyone else felt like that?

BTW we've got a Phil and Teds as DD is only 18 months and can't walk far so we'll need a double sometimes - but I can't believe it will match up to my fab Micralite Fastfold DD uses now!

KnitterInTheNW · 01/04/2008 20:19

We've got a quinny buzz, I'm not a carry cot hater and love the buzz one, George sleeps in it downstairs during the day and has been out a few times in it and is very comfy! He's 7lb now and it looks like it'll last for a good while yet size wise. It's so easy to push, I was even able to do it post section when we got home, it takes no effort to get up & down kerbs (DH is still doing up and down bigger steps just in case) and also DH thinks the turning circle is great!!

I'm going to be very disappointed if we get up tomorrow and there's no new babies, or if you're both still here Scorpio and PFJ, so exciting! I still feel a bit fed up that I was 'cheated' of normal labour, but I've got my gorgeous boy now and that's all that matters.

He passed his hearing test this afternoon, by the way. Despite sleeping through the whole thing.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 01/04/2008 20:22

Thanks Aussie - will try those too! I have not heard anything negative about taking RL pills - got mine in Holland and Barrett as well. I got my iCandy for the same reason - I also have a height issue! lol And yes - I think you are crazy for thinking of going all that way on Friday! I am exhausted just thinking of the drive there and back!

PAL - How are things with your little 'Lemonpip?'

PFJ and Scorpio - sending you positive labour vibes - hope things kick off soon for your both!

BabyBratt · 01/04/2008 20:25

Hi ladies

Aussiediva, I've not been told about the RL tablets. I got mine from Holland & Barrett.

Im only 37 weeks today and I've got high blood pressure. So I am back and forth to the hospital all the time and it is really getting me down.

I liked the bugaboo but our budget just did not stretch. We have a sliver cross because I was pressured into it by my MIL. I can see me changing it soon.

I've just put the cot up and my DH has got the ikea wardrobes up but forgot the doors. I thought it was supposed to be me who forgets things.

Scorpio I cannot believe Millie may be with us shortly it does not seem like five minutes ago since we were on conception threads.

Good luck ThePFJ.
