Sending you lots of hugs VIK, I went 7 days over with DS and found it one of the most distressing experiences, DH thought i was joking when i said i didnt want to speak to anyone except mum and when he handed me the phone with a friend on the other end i went into melt down and boooed it for hours, he thankfully realised after that. I reckon go for it and have a good cry you might feel a bit better after.

Carey87 · 08/04/2008 08:40

Hi ya,

Oh V1kk1m, have you tried the whole nipple stimulus thing? They say that over 40% of woman who try in go into labour within 72 hours.

The pains got sooooo bad that I just had to have a bath, which I new would slow things down but I was freezing too, so I had my bath, DP got up, completely oblivious to everything that had gone on during the night and sodded off to work! Oh well, now having a manic tidy up as they seemed to have stopped, therefore I am to the conclusion that they were false!

Cuppa would be lovely, going to make some brownies in a minute, anyone like one for brekkie??

V1KK1M - ((((hugs)))) to you lady. I don't have SPD but the hip and groin pain I have is getting much worse now - could barely walk by evening yesterday - so can only imagine how uncomfy you are. I will do a little baby-producing dance for you as well as VS.

VS - at your MIL. She sounds like an interfering old moo. Ignore her. (I don't have a MIL anymore, which is really sad for DP obviously but does make my life easier at times, especially since my last one was soooo controlling)
Oh, and agree with Denny about your DH. Men do have a tendency to keep the peace, bless 'em, and it doesn't necessarily reflect what they actually think when it comes to their mothers.

sal and bunyan and micegg - HURRAY! Fab birth stories and lovely names. I know your had your LO a bit ago bunyan but I think I forgot to say congrats, so there it is.

Fingers and toes crossed for carey today!

DSD is with her (horrid but nice enough to her) gran today so I have a whole day to myself! Woo! Am going for yummy breakfast in a mo with my mate who is die day before me, and then am going to come back home and go on MN and sleep do housework and other improving things

EllieG · 08/04/2008 08:48

How come I can never get the striking out thingy to work?

Also, my mate is not going to die before me, but is due before me. She will probably die after me as she is younger and much healthier, in fact.

Carey87 · 08/04/2008 08:51

Ellie - you always make me giggle!

Denny185 · 08/04/2008 08:55

Ellie ment to say find things to do where you can sit and watch or need minimal parent intervention for these hols, cinema, indoor play, art club, swimming (you can stand in the water), play dates etc. You are not crap you are heavily pregnant and entertaining kids is bloody hard work

Denny185 · 08/04/2008 08:58

dont know why your striking out thingy didnt work, Ive never been brave enough to use enough that i can manage faces half the time!

Mollyfloss · 08/04/2008 09:09

Sal: Your birth story is lovely. Congrats again!

ViKK: Hope things start moving for you very soon especially if you're in pain with SPD. I find general achy hips bad enough. But remember the LO is coming out sooner or later anyway, so just try to relax a little (easier said than done I know). Have you any good DVD's to watch?

I'm off to the pool this afternoon. I try to plan something every day so I'm not playing the waiting game too much. That said I can still get around fairly easily (but everybody says I shouldn't get on the tube!).

ToastAddict · 08/04/2008 09:15

Congrats micegg
And congrats again Sal - sounds like you are getting the hang of it all pretty quickly
Vikki - {{{{hugs}}} - I still have 10 days til my due date and although I'm not quite ready psychologically, I think it's only a matter of days - can't imagine how I'll feel if I go really overdue. Hang on in there and do whatever you need to do to get through it - including venting on here!!!
Carey - fingers crossed today's your day
Ellie - hope you have a lovely breakfast The striking out thingy - think you have to do it to every word, not just the beginning and end of the phrase, iyswim? Which is a pita.

Where is the PFJ?????????

Denny185 · 08/04/2008 09:19

I think ive put pic of Aeryn on profile but being a complete numpty on the pc it may not have worked.

ToastAddict · 08/04/2008 09:23

Oh, you have Denny and she's gorgeous!!!!

ToastAddict · 08/04/2008 09:24

OK, seeing that pic has made me realise I am ready and I want mine now

VictorianSqualor · 08/04/2008 09:28

It worked denny, she is lovely.

I'm still amazed at how big everyones babys look!

Ellie, it needs to have lines around every word not just the sentence, then it will strike out.

I feel really horrid this morning, had a terrible nights sleep with backache and pains in my belly where I kept laying on it and have woken up feeling really sick.

Congrats again Sal

Mollyfloss · 08/04/2008 09:36

Sorry you're feeling crap VS.

I actually managed to sleep about 5 hours in a row last night without waking and then after that still went quickly back to sleep. It was great.

I weighed myself this morning and have actually lost a little weight. That is normal at the end of pregnancy isn't it?

Denny185 · 08/04/2008 09:59

Glad it worked

Everyone up now, Aeryn just had bath so need to go spend some time with DS.

PortAndLemon · 08/04/2008 10:00

Aeryn is lovely!

Ellie -- you need to do the striking out on each word, can't just do it round a phrase.

sagitta · 08/04/2008 10:10

Aeryn is gorgeous, Denny. And congrats Micegg and Sal.

Sorry to hear you're feeling crap VS - maybe its a good sign?

I dreamt about you all last night. Obviously spending too much time on MN

scorpio1 · 08/04/2008 11:02

VS - i am actually not sorry you feel poo. Each time i have gone into labour (in the nights) i have spent the whole previous day feeling shite. Ignore your dp - most men bend over when their mother says boo. DH tells his to fuck off, lol

Denny - wow, her cheeks are the best, if she was here i would squeeze her, lol

Congrats to new baby's

Have had the most rubbish nights sleep. i look so swollen of face today, i took kids to nursery/school and went to sleep, ahev just woken up. Going in town soon to potter around and get some lunch.

Hi to everyone else.

TLSM · 08/04/2008 11:07

oh Denny she is so cute I want mine!!! Am still not due for 2 weeks!

DS was a right monster yesterday he is so hyper I really wonder whether I can cope with two! but then he does something lovely like asks for a cuddle of now he is in the garden waving at an airoplane bless him!

VS sounds more promising have you thought of another dose of the castor oil as everything else seems really for it now?

Molly yes it is common in late pregnancy to lose a bit of weight but I have no idea why will go have a search.......

TheMaskedPoster · 08/04/2008 11:07

oh Denny, Aeryn is beautiful!

Congrats to Micegg and Sal - wonderful news

VS - hope something happens soon for you.

Hope everyone ok... having a second newborn is easier than being preggers with a LO IMO. DD2 seems ever so content (although has the odd bit of wind which makes her uncomfortable), and is feeding well (nipps have adjusted nicely now). AND am back in a lot of my pre-preggers clothes!! unbelievable.

I too, am wondering where is ThePFJ?

Mollyfloss · 08/04/2008 11:09

Denny - I just saw the picture of Aeryn who is gorgeous! Makes me feel all mushy

TLSM · 08/04/2008 11:10

Umm that just came up with ways to lose weight in late pregnancy because thats what you need to concerntrate on!! but I know I have read it somewhere so no need to worry. Also you seem to be quite active which could also be a reason

sagitta · 08/04/2008 11:20

Thats good to know, TMP. I am being a really crap mum at the moment for DD - I am so knackered by the time she's home from nursery that I can't play... There's no room on my lap, I can't pick her up and throw her about, I'm tetchy...she's having a horrid time with me

TheMaskedPoster · 08/04/2008 11:24

yes Sagitta, I was similar to you when in the last stages of Pregnancy and DD1 would follow me around and want cuddles on my lap etc - but there was no room and my patience was limited.

Now however I can give her cuddles galore and pick her up etc (she still gets the odd grump her way though as tiredness doesn't help atm). She is forever kissing DD2 which is sweet.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 08/04/2008 11:30

Congratulations Micegg and Sal! So happy for you both!

Denny - your little cherub is beautiful! And I know I shouldn't sy this, but it just makes me want a little girl even more!

Molly - I have also lost a bit of weight - although I put that down to being sick AGAIN! I have just had a friend on the phone commenting on how much weight I have lost since being pregnant. She said that besides the bump, I have lost weight everywhere else and it is the slimmest she has seen me in a good while! Not convinced though - we shall have to see after I have had bubs! (Just by the way - in case anyone is wondering - I am not purposely trying to lose weight!)
