Brilliant news, Peachy and AFB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

moominsmummy · 07/04/2008 19:04

oh bum.

as DH is away tonight at my parents was going to treat myself to veggie fajitas - my all time favourite which he hates the smell of. Have got all the stuff in except just discovered - no tortillas! arghhhhhhhh!!

gutted. have had a look at some recipes but cannot be bothered to make them as too much nesting to do whilst DS is asleep and DH is away. boo hoo hoo. will have to have dull jacket potatoe or similar.

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 19:09

Lol, I just had jacket spuds, I lvoe'em.
DP being a superstar here, has said to call hospital tomorrow and rearrange CS for next week.
He's calling his mum now to tell her that plans are changing.

moominsmummy · 07/04/2008 19:14

Oh bless your DP VS! what a sweetie.
fingers crossed all will work out

Denny185 · 07/04/2008 19:15

Congrats Peachy and AFB.

Well so far DD2 (still sounds wierd) is turing into a replica of DD1 - a screamer with lots of attitude! Shes been snack feeding which would be fine apart from the large bleeding blister on my left side which is not appretiating the whole on off experience. Decided today she would not be leading the pattern and has been put into more of a routine and after being made to wait for her feeds shes feeding for an hour at a time and has slept for longer than 1/2 stretches today . Heres hoping for a better night than last nights 3 hours sleep

Had the first school run today after easter and managed to get all 3 washed, fed abd dressed as well as tidy the kitchen and put load of washing in b4 leaving - was v pleased with myself, also went for walk (well slightly more of a shuffle) after drop off. DH doing it tomorrow as have to wait in for MW to come take out my staples - looking forward to that.

VS - good luck with your decision making, all your hard work has obviously gone some way into ripening that carvix so fingers crossed it will start opening it as well.

Denny185 · 07/04/2008 19:16

Oops x posts vs

moominsmummy · 07/04/2008 19:20

denny - well done you - you must be exhausted after all that!

EllieG · 07/04/2008 19:35

Woo! TWO BABIES! Congrats peachy and AFB - lovely, lovely names - put some pics up soon please! x

Have had NO time again for MN as is now school holidays and have been busy with being scanned this morning and DSD all afternoon. I am completely knackered, have no idea how am going to cope with 2 weeks of this....DSD was fine today, but had really had enough of doing stuff by end of the day.
Maybe I am not cut out for being a mummy after all. Not sure how the summer hols are going to work with the baby and her. It won't be able to be tailored around her as much and she might find that difficult. Hey ho. Lots of going out for walks I think. And her friends over to play.

Good news is growth scan showed that baby is just under 8 pounds, which is fine. So although is not going to be a tiddler by time am due, will not be the monster I was worrying about!

VS - keeping everything crossed for you and sending you opening-cervix vibes. There really is no such thing as TMI on here is there!

Wonder how PFJ is getting on?

moomin - hugs to you for DP going in a huff and lack of tortillas x

micegg · 07/04/2008 20:07

Hi all,

This is a one hand typed message so excuse typos - DS b/feeding.

Born 3/4/08 after a 2 hour labour. Just made it to hospital. In delivery suite for 27 mins!Very lucky - had a great delivery. Waters broke 20 hours before he was born. 2nd stage was 4 minutes.

Named him Benjamin. 8lbs 3 ozs.

So far all is well. Big sis loves him.

Best of luck to you all

bunyanvillas · 07/04/2008 20:16

Woo hoo micegg, fabulous news! And you beat me by 21 mins!! Loving the name, too - I really wanted Benjamin but it didn't fit with our surname. Hope you are both doing well, I'm sure he is gorgeous

chipmonkey · 07/04/2008 20:32

Fantastic news micegg! I must say, I am very of those of you who give birth so naturally!
Well done!

northeastmummy · 07/04/2008 20:59

Congrats micegg - lovely lovely news!

Yikes to all these short labours though. It's terrifying!!

AussieDivaOnABreak · 07/04/2008 21:20

Thanks for the name VS - beautiful choice Bunyanvillas!

Good news for you too VS - it really sounds like everything is going in the right direction and I think you have nothing to lose by waiting...but I'm sure you'll make the right decision, your dp is being so supportive.

I know what you mean Ellie - I'm really struggling to deal with nursery holidays at the moment, my dd is a sweetheart but it's truly exhausting trying to entertain her at the moment when my bump is truly in the way all the time now. Feel like I am having one constant braxton hicks contraction all day and can't seem to get comfortable. Then I read Denny's post and she is truly a supermum!!! She has given me hope

Loving these quick deliveries - the more I hear the more I can convince myself that mine will be the same!! I wish

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 21:23

DP just called his mum and she was telling him I should have a CS
Really pissed me off cos he was acting as if it was me being stubborn yet he is totally different to me.
Started saying things like 'Yeah, I'm going to have to book different days off' and 'I just want ti over with now' blah blah.
Prick.
(Thats the first and probably last time you'll see me slag him off on MN!)
Pretty damn obvious his mother had two easy peasy vaginal births, so has no fucking clue, if only we could all be so lucky.

PortAndLemon · 07/04/2008 21:25

(read that as "two easy peasy virginal births"...)

Mollyfloss · 07/04/2008 21:26

Congrats Micegg!!!

EllieG: You will be a great Mum. I think you should keep reminding your DSD that she is having a LITTLE sister/brother (sorry can't remember if you know) who is going to be a lot smaller than her and she must take care of hime/her with you etc. sort of make sure she knows she is about to be a BIG sister as if she has some responsibility. Kids like to think of themselves as the bigger one and once they get that idea they can often be quite protective and helpful.

VS: I wouldn't worry about your DH. It sounds like he is agreeing with his Mum for the sake of it.

Carey87 · 07/04/2008 22:54

congrats micegg!!!

I promise i will read all of thread tomorrow, been so busy!

Quick question to anyone that is online - just had fantastic sex (sorry if TMI )

Discharge is now tinged with blood- good or bad????

Sal22 · 08/04/2008 01:11

Hi everyone. Thank you very much for all the messages, and Peachy, thanks for the text and posting on here.

Long story, so I'll post this last thing before I go to bed, sorry!

We arrived home this morning and have had a quiet, relaxing day. Baby is lovely and so easy-going, it's a lot easier (these first couple of days anyway) than we expected. As long as he is fed and has a clean nappy on, Roelof seems perfectly happy. After every proper feed he sleeps roughly 3 hours, which is great.

The birth itself was good - went in for the cs just after 11. Got prepped and epidural & spinal put in place (I had to have a combination as they were unsure whether the epidural would distribute properly because of possible scar tissue - I was in an accident when I was small). I got a bit scared just before they operated (think just hormones), but aneasthetist and DH was just brilliant and set me at ease and I stopped sobbing. The rest was really quick and stress free for me. Then hearing him cry was brilliant, and when they handed me my little boy it was so absolutely amazing - I thought I would cry or become very emosional or something, but it was just this wonderful, amazing, happy feeling.

Had a bit of a scare because he had a bit of fluid in his lungs which, even after they used the tubes to suck it, remained, so he was taken away from me while the pediatrician kept monitoring him. But at least I could still see him next to me, we just weren't allowed to touch him, because apparently he had to use all his energy to breathe it out or something. About 3 hours after his birth they said that if he wasn't breathing easier on the next check he would need to go to the ICU, but then he was fine. I've probably never prayed this hard and it was such a relief when they said he was ok. In retrospect it was probably nothing, but as a (in my case paranoid) first timer I just panicked a bit and feared the worst.

To finish off my essay, the details of his birth are:
He is called Roelof Grové (after DH's father), was born on the 3rd (38 + 5)at 11:39, weighed 3.325 kg and was 50.5 cms. Oh, and I love him to bits, just want to hold him all the time

It took me a while to catch up with the missing days. Congratulations to rainbowdays, bunyanvillas, Denny, Micegg, AprilsFoolsBaby and Peachy! What a busy week

V1KK1M · 08/04/2008 08:14

Congratulations to all those that have had thier babies - I am so jelous

I'm now 6 days over and getting desperate - I went for my second sweep yesterday which was less hopeful. I have had no change from Friday and I'm not even sure in the mw managed to do it - she said she must have shorter fingers than the mw on friday.

Yesterday I also tried pinapple (again), drinking RLT as well as the tablets, a hot curry (which I hated) and sex.

I have had a few cramps this morning but I think this is due to the curry last night and I am so desperate for it to come out. My SPD is getting worse and is just sore all the time now.

I will be induced on Monday worse case and it's my Birthday on Tues so I can imagine I will be having a pretty eventful day.

I'm just so fed up I want to cry!

OK - rant over
