Congratulations Peachy and aprilfoolsbaby!!

And mant thanks to VS for emailing bunyanvillas DS's name.

Great names!! Love them all!

Went to get my nursing bra fitted today - I am going to have HUGE boobs! Woo hoo!! 36E!!! I'm normally a B so this is great! Now to find some attractive bras - the ones M&S wanted to sell me were the pits!

scorpio1 · 07/04/2008 16:10

36E

I am a 34B now and very proud, lol.

Thanks VS for email, lovely name

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 16:22

Well, she couldn't do a sweep.
My cervix is still firmly closed, but incredibly ripe apparently, she was surprised to find it so forward and soft but couldn't do anything with it.
Now I don't know what to do..argh!

Mollyfloss · 07/04/2008 16:23

VS: Could you add my e-mail pls? [email protected]

scorpio1 · 07/04/2008 16:25

Vs, it may be so closed becuase you have never had vaginal birth before - it may dilate very well in labour iyswim? Ripe cervix good. Give it the rest of the week?

Mollyfloss · 07/04/2008 16:28

How frustrarting VS!!! grrr... Did the MW have any advice?

I was a 32B before pg, 36DD now and when fitted with a nursing bra I was told I should be a 34E for my first nursing bra... God knows what state they'll be in by the time I stpo BF...

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 16:28

Added you and emailed molly.

That's what the mw said scorpio, it's similar to a first time mother but she doesn't think it's going to come before wednesday.

scorpio1 · 07/04/2008 16:30

oh VS....what are your thoughts now? It's not as simple as just going overdue though, is it? What about Friday/Saturday deadline? Or would you rather just get on with it now?

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 16:32

I'm really unsure. I'll talk to DP when he comes home, just spoke to him quickly on the phone and he is still happy to put it off for a week.
The heartbeat, urine, BP etc she did was all perfect.
The whole bloody thing was perfect except for my cervix dilating!
Argh.

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 16:33

Oh VS how frustrating.

My Cervix was still completely closed on Friday and this is my second vaginal birth.
What will happen about your dealine?

Mollyfloss · 07/04/2008 16:33

Thanks for the e-mail VS. Love the name! Very smart!

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 16:34

Sorry x-posts

scorpio1 · 07/04/2008 16:34

I wonder if you could get a scan for the end of the week to help you make up your mind - see how your placenta and fluid are.

Good that dp is being supportive of you

northeastmummy · 07/04/2008 16:41

VS - try not to be too downhearted. I think that's brilliant news ... and you were so sure about waiting for another week earlier. That could make ALL the difference. As long as everything's ok with baby??

Good luck honeybee!

BR - I'm sure you could get yourself a lovely outfit that hides all the bumps and has access for feeding. You'll probably be glad of a weekend away and what a lovely opportunity for your family to catch up with you and meet baby?

F

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 16:43

Thanks NEM I'm sure you're right. Just had such trouble BFing last time the 4 week time span is a really big thing for me.

sagitta · 07/04/2008 16:44

Sorry to hear that VS...Scorpio's scan idea sounds good, can you get one?

northeastmummy · 07/04/2008 16:47

I know what you mean BR. I was the same - I remember 8 weeks being a big turn round point for me. But everyone will understand I'm sure and you'll probably be glad of the change of scene. Plus this time BF is going to be easy peasy because we've done it all before !

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 16:49

mmmm wish I could be that optimistic. Only managed 3 weeks last time, and don't remember a lot of it, except the constant pain, mastitis, not eating or sleeping (nothing to do with DS).

Really hoping to make a go of it this time.

Pinions · 07/04/2008 16:57

I popped a year ago today !! So good luck to all of you about to burst anytime soon !!

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 16:59

BR, it could be totally different this time.
Fingers crossed for you it is.

Re: the scan, I'm not sure there is much point, I'll be re-booking the CS for next weds if I change it and the clinic is on Tuesdays so would only be the day before.

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 17:08

I'm sure it will be. And if not, I will not go on a 24 month guilt trip this time

If you're rebooking for next week, then that's all sorted so nothing to do but chill and let your body do it's thang. Deep breadth and think opening thoughts!! I am!!

northeastmummy · 07/04/2008 17:18

BR - have you been to any breastfeeding clinics or anything this time round? I went to one at my GPs and it really helped motivate me again. I also think it was really helpful to have a refresher and a think about what I might do differently this time to hopefully make it a bit easier. For me that's mainly going to be asking for help rather than struggling on if things don't seem to be going right.

I'm really worried that it'll be too easy for me to give up this time. Last time I pushed on because I didn't know any better then when I transferred DD onto formula at 5 months she was like a different baby and I wished I'd done it earlier.

northeastmummy · 07/04/2008 18:20

Wow - I really killed the thread this time

Hmmmmm ... wonder how PFJ is getting on ... ?

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 18:21

Went to BF class and learnt some stuff but still pretty nervous.

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 18:22

x-posts, was feeding DS. Bath and bedtime so catch you all later...

Hopefully we'll hear from PFJ.
