Mum2be - you have my sympathies - have just got over my cold. Have lots of cups of tea and chocolate x

ToastAddict · 06/04/2008 15:44

Ellie - ashamed to say I've given up on sex Too damn uncomfortable and, I must admit, it feels a little odd doing it when the baby is so obviously there, iykwim? DH is very understanding, fortunately, he finds it strange too, so probably isn't too mortified, he seems to think our sex life is over for the next year or so!! Really hope he's wrong there!!

M2b2BR - sorry you're feeling so rough I would never have believed these would work unless I had tried them myself, but last week, out of sheer desperation to stop snoring (DH has to wear ear plugs and he can still hear me ), I tried some of those plaster strip things you stick over the bridge of your nose. They are amazing!! Didn't think I was particularly congested until I tried them, could suddenly breathe properly!! I have the Boots version, they were £3 for 30, can't remember what the other brands are called but they have been heavily advertised on TV recently, guess most pharmacies (and presumably supermarkets) will sell them. Worth a try anyway

PFJ - hope this is it for you!!!!!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 06/04/2008 16:06

Thanks ladies... will give the strip things a try! Anything to help right now!!!

bunnyrabbit · 06/04/2008 16:14

Oooh PFJ not back? Go girl go...

Lost a bit of plug whilst out today but nothing else yet. I was having contractions at only 2cm with DS.

Poor M2B I've had a virus for 3 weeks and a hacking cough and snotty nose so know just how you feel. I've been smothering myself in Vicks. Not sure if it's helping but I find the smell relaxing and it stops me panicking when I have a coughing fit. Strip idea sounds excellent. Actually, what about saline drops? You can use these on babies can we use them?????

Ellie - that woman sounds mean. you're not fat you're bloody 8 1/2 months pg fgs! Glad dp made you feel lovely again

Sex does take some energy now doesn't it - also ikwym, the baby is very real now that she is so low and big, hard to detach the mind from her being there now, iyswim. Hoping the sex this weekend will kick her off asap....feel huge and very pmt-ish.

PFJ - really hoping for you!!!!

DH cooking roast.

bunnyrabbit · 06/04/2008 16:27

mmmmm lucky scorpio.

I've bought a bread maker and am making my first loaf!!

bunnyrabbit · 06/04/2008 16:28

LOL I mean lucky that DH is making roast... titter...

scorpio1 · 06/04/2008 16:28

he does cook every weekend.

Scampmum · 06/04/2008 16:28

Go PFJ! Hope it's all happening.

VS, last night I dreamt you went into labour tonight. And I dreamt the snow, too (though it didn't stop you getting to hospital and getting your VBAC!). So here's hoping...

Having said that, I also dreamt that my baby (a boy) moved a hand a little too far, pushed my belly open and was born that way. I was with my Mum and Dad (v. v. unlikely since they haven't spoken for 19 years), both doctors, in Waterloo station and they were amazingly nonchalant and said it was a fairly common phenomenon known as 'grasping out' - Dad even dismissed my suggestion that I should go to St. Thomas' down the road, saying the health booth in the station would more than suffice. They took the baby out through the wound, made a hash of cutting his umbilical cord (which was attached to his head ) then kind of peeled it off. It would have been gruesome if the baby hadn't been obviously fine. Handily, he was already wearing a babygro (it did strike me as a bit odd that my body had grown him one) and had a strange clip on his toe.

Hospital bag finally packed! Also slept well last night but still really knackered. Need to start perineal massage although (TMI) think I have thrush and apparently not supposed to do it if you do...

scorpio1 · 06/04/2008 16:30

pick up some cream, you do not want to give birth with thrush [oww] or do you have any natural yog?

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 06/04/2008 16:32

LOL Scampmum - what a bizare dream!

bunnyrabbit · 06/04/2008 16:39

OOhh scamp, can I have some of whatever you're taking? Dream sounds excellent, baby already in babygro... now if he come out holding a glass of wine.....

I have thrush and the DAU at the hospital gave me a pessary as well as cream on Friday. Second Scorpio that you should address it ASAP.

VictorianSqualor · 06/04/2008 17:12

Goodness I hope you're right scampmum!

Scampmum · 06/04/2008 20:20

Go go go VS!

Have sent DH an email at work for tomorrow (entitled 'Romantic Email') asking him to pick up some canesten - difficult to get to chemist as have to park miles away and still really painful (although less so - labour hormones kicking in?) to walk. This is massive TMI (look away if squeamish) but I seem to have it in my urethra as well.

TLSM · 06/04/2008 20:28

OOOH would seem PFj must be having her baby!

Scrampmum that sounds paidful

it really snowed here this morning looked lovely and am so glad I have bought Tom a snowsuit!

moominsmummy · 06/04/2008 20:44

hello all - v exciting about PFJ

I have finally finished work for my mat leave (hurrah!) although feel a bit of fraud - with DS I was so huge and cumbersome I could hardly get around - this time feel ok so feel like I'm taking a sickie not going in! 3 weeks now til baby due (and probably 5+ until it actually arrives)

DH has hospital appointment in Cambridge on Tuesday am to ensure he's fit enough to do the drug treatment in a couple of weeks. My parents have come to pick him up so that I can stay home and do nesting - just hope that baby doesn't come between now and Wednesday as DH and my parents will be 200 miles away!

EllieG · 06/04/2008 21:30

Finishing work is lovely feeling moomin isn't it? Sod's law that baby is bound to come early though if your DH and folks are miles away though.....cross your legs and hope for the best

Am doing a little baby-producing dance for PFJ and VS and Peachy and anyone else who is over-cooked. I still have a week and a half to go and reeeeallly want this baby out. Are you still scheduled for CS on wed VS?

scorpio - hope you enjoyed your 'roast' (fnar fnar)

Mollyfloss · 06/04/2008 22:11

Hi ladies,

Just been catching up. Still no news from PFJ, exciting! Really hope it is not a false alarm again. Fingers crossed.

Carey: Did I understand rightly that you said you went horse riding yesterday??!! Did you take that whole 'riding the donkey to make you go into labour' idea that we had on this thread a while back seriously?!

I hate my arse by the way, it's bloody huge! I wish I had cravings for raw broccolli instead of all this sweet stuff. My arse might not be so huge now.

On bellies, half the people I've met have had a feel of mine, can't say I mind though. I'm usually like 'yes feel there, I think that's the knee or that's her bum you're feeling!'.

I have just been told that choc ices are good for bringing on labour! Now that's too good to be true, right?

EllieG · 06/04/2008 22:21

Well I had a curry and glass of wine last night, loads of raspberry leaf capsuals today, sex this morning and had lots of fresh pineapple this afternoon and though lots of BH's nothing to shout about. I bet am going to be overdue and have to give birth to an enormous baby.

Mollyfloss · 06/04/2008 22:36

Well I haven't done that much to naturally induce this baby. Just some raspberry leaf tea and I've even been told that the one I have is not really effective and I suppose I'm staying fairly active with walking and swimming. I still have another week to my due date though but I might startsîcy food and pineapples this week. I told myself in advance that this baby is going to be late. Of course I don't want to go to 42 weeks but don't mind her being in there a a bit overdue. If they're big don't they usually sleep and feed a bit better than smaller babies? or is that a load of nonsense?

chipmonkey · 06/04/2008 22:37

Oh, looks like we can expect news from The PFJ! Fingers crossed!

bunnyrabbit · 06/04/2008 22:45

Well I am overdue and not happy!! Been engaged by one degree or another for 7 weeks, which is apparantly very unusual for a second baby and damn bloody uncomfortable too.

Haven't stopped being active and only gave up work 2 weeks ago. Perhaps this stupid cough is discouraging LO from popping out?

Made bread and a beef stew today. Will have to bake loads tomorrow I suppose. Might book a Pedicure for Tuesday in the hopes of tempting fete.

DH not happy about going to work tomorrow but he's not really saying anything as he knows I am extremely impatient at the best of times, let alone now!!

Help!! Need something to make this LO come out. Even DS was asking the baby to be born now.

Whinge, moan sullk... night night
