Hi all, just a quick inbetween feds message to say thank you for all the congratulations.
For those who are anxious to speed things along, I think the evening primrose oil I took made a big difference in softening the cervix and starting things off for me!
Someone asked how quick my previous labours were: First was a long hard back labour, which was planned as a home birth but after 24 hours transferred to hospital and had baby 10 hours later!!!!, second I was already in hospital with pre-labour, at 6pm was declared by the midwife to be no-where near giving birth despite continuing on-off contractions. 11.30 pm knew I was in labour, checked at 12midnight, was 3cm, half and hour later was 8cm and trying to slow things down to give my husband a chance to arrive. Born at 2.30am, so a 3 hour labour in all. This one was first contraction at 6am, went striaght into intence contractions 4 mins apart, waters broke at around 7ish, and born at 7.40am after 30mins of pushing.
Fortunately had my mum and husband with me and an independant midwife arrived in the final minutes before the birth, before the doctor and the amulance crew! I was crying out for gas and air, but had no choice.
Jak is doing well, and although I am sore I managed to have no stiches this time and it is much better.
Wishing you all perfect births and wonderful babies.
