Mum2b- I didnt feel as desperate last time I was post due, i'm a bit low atm about my friend dying and having to miss the funeral unless baby arrives in next 48 hours. It's 40 miles away so too far to travel, and the only day MW can make it for antenatal appt / sweep.

ToastAddict · 04/04/2008 17:58

Denny and Bunyan - congrats again, great stories

Sal - congrats to you too

M2b2BR - I am coming up to 38 weeks and still don't feel ready, you are not alone! I guess cos it's my first, I'm kind of apprehensive about the whole giving birth thing, and then there's the whole being a responsible parent bit too...... so whilst I'm big and uncomfortable and can't sleep but am constantly tired and have no energy and always have heartburn and can't remember what my feet look like......... I'll stay pregnant for a few more weeks thanks

Sure I'll be desperate for her to be out soon, but personally, I would rather get to that stage than have her when I'm not quite ready. If I'll ever be ready?

Oh and Molly - at your tube nightmare. Must have been awful for you but also, your poor DH. Can't imagine what state mine would have been in......

PortAndLemon · 04/04/2008 18:00

My kids will never be going to McDonalds with me or DH, at any rate... am aware that when they start going out with friends things will probably change.

Had dopey moment today -- DD was having particulrly long nap and I wanted her to wake up and feed, then caught myself thinking "Maybe I should have a cup of tea, that always wakes her up" before realising that that was while I was still pregnant...

TLSM · 04/04/2008 18:02

Hi Well bought most of Gap Molly that sounds terrible your poor DH!

Does anyone who is having a girl want a really nice (but most def girls) handmade blanket it is lovely but very girly although white has little rose buds. My Auntie made it for me when I had max but I never used it because of the girlieness DH refused! anyway I have just got it out and it seems such a shame for it never to meet a baby I can email anyone pics if they like I dont want anything for it just want it to go to a good home would much rather one of you have it than a stranger if that makes sense! my email is [email protected]

TLSM wonders off to look at slow cookers ummmm

ThePFJ · 04/04/2008 18:15

Hi all, just a quick inbetween feds message to say thank you for all the congratulations.

For those who are anxious to speed things along, I think the evening primrose oil I took made a big difference in softening the cervix and starting things off for me!

Someone asked how quick my previous labours were: First was a long hard back labour, which was planned as a home birth but after 24 hours transferred to hospital and had baby 10 hours later!!!!, second I was already in hospital with pre-labour, at 6pm was declared by the midwife to be no-where near giving birth despite continuing on-off contractions. 11.30 pm knew I was in labour, checked at 12midnight, was 3cm, half and hour later was 8cm and trying to slow things down to give my husband a chance to arrive. Born at 2.30am, so a 3 hour labour in all. This one was first contraction at 6am, went striaght into intence contractions 4 mins apart, waters broke at around 7ish, and born at 7.40am after 30mins of pushing.

Fortunately had my mum and husband with me and an independant midwife arrived in the final minutes before the birth, before the doctor and the amulance crew! I was crying out for gas and air, but had no choice.

Jak is doing well, and although I am sore I managed to have no stiches this time and it is much better.

Wishing you all perfect births and wonderful babies.

egyptianprincess · 04/04/2008 19:50

Molly, as a fellow tube user- I am horrified by what you went through. 3 hours!! Sounds like you were very brave..I think I would have become claustrophobic and started freaking out..
vs, im no expert but you look pretty ready! ...who's going to have a friday night baby I wonder...rainbowdays, im so impressed that youre already mumsnetting after your speedy birth. will have to get my hands on some of that evening primrose oil as have now officially abandoned the pineapple plan.
it's so nice having my mom here- she's cooking all this lovely food for dh and I and generally being amazing..i think i would have been even more stir crazy without her as dh hardly ever gets home from work before 10 or 11.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 04/04/2008 20:01

Ahhh VS and Scorpio - you both look so cute!

christmaspixie · 04/04/2008 20:01

VS, I think your bump looks gorgeous!! Don't you think it's always nice to look back on the end pics after it's all over and feel totally AMAZED and appreciate that you really were carrying a baby in there!! x x
