Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
scorpio1 · 04/04/2008 16:03

Peachy - yeah, me too. and also

lol, i love McD's but never go more than twice a month.

VictorianSqualor · 04/04/2008 16:07

I can't be bothered to cook either but I suppose I'll have to.
Could have chippy tea tonight but DP had a dominos last ngiht so I'd feel like we'd been really norty

scorpio1 · 04/04/2008 16:08

and i would feel bad to kids if we had takeaway again

Am going to buy lots of ready meals etc tomorrow for first week after birth.

VictorianSqualor · 04/04/2008 16:08

Oh McD's
We don't have one enar us so everytime I actually go into the city you can betcha bottom dollar I'l be there.

LOL@kids not going there ever....

Peachy · 04/04/2008 16:10

We keep eating take aways too- I order really good food and then haven't got the energy to cook it, although we did have home amde pizza last night which is a sort of mid way? .

I make and freeze loads of meals for the freezer, and then Dh takes them to work for his lunch (has broken his frozen kebab and pot noodle habit though.....)

scorpio1 · 04/04/2008 16:12

VS, lol

Peachy - nice of you to do that for DH, mine mostly makes his own lunch or takes money.

Am soooo tired [hummpphh]. feel size of house. have very sore right rib;Mills likes resting her feet in there.

scorpio1 · 04/04/2008 16:13

VS - our nearest is 3 mins drive [boast] with KFC just across the roundabout....

Peachy · 04/04/2008 16:13

Oh the babies could be like my boys- I got too good with the healthy eating stuff and if I try and visit a McD's they refuse to go in, shouting that it's not real food . Sam used to convert smokers in the street too..... he was about 4, with blonde curls 9still has trhose) and bright blues eyes begging people not to kill themselves with smoking sticks PMSL.... so embarassing!

They will happily eat KFC however

Mollyfloss · 04/04/2008 16:15

Oh God, I know. I sound like DH when I say they will NEVER go to McD's. He is totally against it but then he doesn't like it and I unfortunately do (I LOVE whoppers in fact). Well, I won't be bringing them there voluntarily. they would really have to be begging me for it. I actually don't think I had McD's until I was teenager. We lived in the South West of Ireland and there was none around! If we had chips my Mum would cut up potatoes and cook them in clean oil. Ah those were the day...

Peachy · 04/04/2008 16:15

Oh i'm not being aprticuallry nice to Dh with the meals- there was one horror story with such a mix of ingredients through pregnancy bizarre cravings- egg, cabbage, noodles, sausgaes and Chinese 5 spice LOL.....

Besides, there isn't much open to buy food from at 3am, which is when he has his lunch!.

He ahs gained 2 stone since starting this though...... good job he was seriosuly underweight to begin with, he's exactly right now

scorpio1 · 04/04/2008 16:16

i didn't have McD's until i was 14 and one opened in our town. Fortunately one has to get transport there, otherwise i am sure i would frequent it

BabyBratt · 04/04/2008 16:16

I know this is going to sound really dull but we use our slow cooker loads and we freeze half. I love it I throw everything in and it is ready for DH to come home.

Much prefer pizza followed by a mini egg chaser.

scorpio1 · 04/04/2008 16:18

Dh doesn't really like slow cooker stuff like casserole or stews . They happen to be my fave!

Peachy · 04/04/2008 16:18

I was 13 and visiting london, one at home didnt open until I was 17 (although went there a lot as was shagging- sorry, dating- deputy manager )

Nearest one to here is about 3 miles which helps

VictorianSqualor · 04/04/2008 16:19

Peachy, the kids had homemade pizza and homemade wedges here too Was a playdate though and is a good 'activity'
That's HEALTH food, I tell ya!
If you makeit yourself it's healthy.

Mollyfloss · 04/04/2008 16:20

Peachy - I'm so impressed by your boys! you have them well trained.

The problem with London is there is fast food places on every corner so you need to have some discipline.

VictorianSqualor · 04/04/2008 16:22

We're lucky in one way with the fastfood places, as there arent any!
DD will discuss very loudly how it's not good to eat too much bad stuff but once in a while is fine, whilst in the queue but she is more concerned about Nestle and Fairtrade than fastfood.
What utter ponces we're turning our children into

Peachy · 04/04/2008 16:23

All we have here is a chippy for cheap fast food- there's a very good Chinese and Indian but more expensive. Otherwise you have to get in the car and drive, which rather takes away the fast food edge doesn't it........

Peachy · 04/04/2008 16:25

PArt of ds1's problem is that he aeard the Consultant describe him as obese (he's actually underweight by a good half stone, daft Paediatrician).

Did anyone see that thing on the news about kids over 8stone in weight being banned from seaside donkeys??? Sam is beginning to think he is too old for donkeys now and he's 3.5 stone! How fat would your kids have to be?

ThePFJ · 04/04/2008 16:52

o.O No Peachy I haven't. Sounds like a scary thread though tbh.

I just fell asleep.. not sure for how long, but I just dreamt there was a gay male couple posting on here and then they invited all their friends over and this thread became a gay dating scene conversation with all of us complaining we were having babies not giving out advice on how to attract the perfect gay guy.
Odd.

Denny185 · 04/04/2008 16:55

Hello, congrats to the babies and imminent ones over the last 2 days.

We came out at 2pm after having a crap nights sleep on ward and remembering bitterly why i dont like hospitals! Well Sun, Mon and Tue nights had several hours of pre-labour pains that stopped each morning. Went for pre-op on wed all well due in for 9am thurs. Went to bed about 12.30 but woke 2 hours later with raging back pain, on moving realised in labour. 2 hours later contractions every 10 min but getting stronger i thought id ring hosp to see if could take pain killers to be told we'd have to go in. After 15 min car journey contractions coming every 2 mins, after 30 mins monitoring my nice sedate elective section walking across in my slippers turned into the emergency writhing on bed with gas and air emergency one. Not quite the plan but baby Aeryn was delivered at 6.51 a good healthy size and has been chomping like a trouper every since. I had forgotten the joys of after pains but it is so nice being able to bend down and eat without heart burn again.

Hope not too long for the rest of you, i still remember the frustraion of going over 1 week with DS its so not great but the end is in sight. Will post pics when have 5 mins to sit and work it out.

ThePFJ · 04/04/2008 17:01

My DP wont take me to McD's. Apparently the food is crap. But I LIKE the crap... o.O

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 04/04/2008 17:21

Congratulations to all those who have had their babies!

PFJ - you are a loon (I say that in a very friendly way!)

Molly - gawd - how awful - my worst nightmare come true. You poor thing - I can just imagine how frantic your DH must have been.

Tell me something, is it only when you get closer to your due date that you really start wanting baby out? I'm 36+3 and have no real feelings of wanting this one out yet - quite happy for him/her to stay put for now. But after reading some of the comments on here I'm starting to think it is abnormal to think like this!

Also feeling whingy today. I have had a yucky cold for 2 weeks now, REALLY yucky and I'm fed up now. Just lack the will and energy to do anything and I really just want to get on with things! All I have managed to do today is feed the cats, do some more baby laundy and ironing, chat on the phone to friends and sleep. There is a whole load of stuff I need to get on with but just don't have the energy for.

On the bright side though, we saw my brother's mate last night who bought over a whole load of stuff from my brother and his wife (who live in Dubai) and we really have been spolit! Very lucky!

bunyanvillas · 04/04/2008 17:24

Hello, just checking in - very little time to do anything other than feed ds at the moment - in fact have been up all night, surprise, surprise and of course he has been asleep lots during the day How do I let you know of his name? (sorry don't want to publish it on here and have had no time to update Facebook, not nearly as organised as some of you lot!)

V quick, concise birth story - Had pre-labour pains during the day on Weds but managed to nip for a quick haircut and have friend and toddler round during afternoon. Friends arrived for supper at 8.30 and the pains started getting a bit stronger. Left them babysitting dd at 9.10 and went to hospital for a quick check - upon which the pains suddenly cranked up big time - and ds was born 2 hours later, no time for pain relief! He was 2.5 weeks early and it was all quite a surprise, albeit a very nice one.

Hope you are all doing very well, just going to quickly scan down the thread to see for myself how you all are but have a feeling I might be interrupted any minute now by his nibs hence quickly posting this first!

VictorianSqualor · 04/04/2008 17:35
