Thanks very much for the wishes everyone! I'll miss everyone for the next couple of days - good luck to anyone who'll have little ones arriving soon, can't wait to check back in to see the news!

Denny - if still checking this (guess not, but in case), good luck for tomorrow.

VS - don't be silly, you're not making anyone worry more - to the contrary, all your posts make complete sense and it's always better discussing / reading something than just ignoring it and then being shocked if something isn't what you expected.

Oh, and Peachy - I'll be trying the lifting arms thing right now! I'm going to try and go to be early tonight, so unless I can't go to sleep, best of luck to everyone and take good care. I'll be in touch soon.

Hi everyone, still no baby. Lots of contractions and so on though. I am keeping a zen like mind in order to keep my sanity in tact, trying not to think about going into to labour and so on. My phone is still on answering machine, its unbelievable how many messages one person needs to leave in order to check up on me. I can not face ringing all my friends one by one and answering all the same questions over and over, plus it just make me think about when is baby coming more and more.
-breathes in and out-
-looks calm-
I had a very large trickle of clear liquid from my vagina today -tmi- and had to go into to hospital to have it checked out just in case. I knew even if it had been my waters though it was just to be checked out and not to get excited etc.
As you can tell I did get very stressed out before with all these two weeks of false alarms, but now I am really taking them in my stride.
I think I can crown myself and LO queen and king of false alarm city after all this is done. Hoho.
I haven't been reading the thread atm, my deepest apologies for that, but I will come on once a day and update you all.
Big hugs and good luck to you all.
I'll be back to my old self soon, posting like a mad person hehe I hope.

AussieDivaOnABreak · 03/04/2008 08:05

CONGRATS Rainbowdays...just under two hours, oh my well done you! We seem to have a growing collection of boys emerging I see.

TLSM · 03/04/2008 08:22

Congrates Rainbowdays they seem to be getting bigger and bigger and quicker and quicker - oh no I am near the end TLSM rolls out her 13lber in 10 minutes

Good luck today Denny and Sal

VS thats what we are here for i do believe it helps to get it out and to see it in print am so glad that the docs understood with the breast feeding thing my sister breastfeed both of her girls (had CS twice) i couldnt breastfeed my ds as milk never came in and i gave birth naturally - something i dont think i will suffer from this time thank goodness as i squirted my DH in the eye this morning he was not impressed Can i ask did you get skin to skin with your DD? as I had real bonding issues with Max (I never had that great serge of love people talk about I just felt responsibility) and I never had skin to skin with him I had him, DH held him, my mum held him then they washed him and dressed him then I held him then I couldnt breastfeed him - i really do think that all that could be a factor?

right its my last day today so best get onto it!

ToastAddict · 03/04/2008 09:12

Congrats Rainbowdays, wonderful news. Had to scroll down to list to find out Jak is your third, had a horrible feeling you were a first-timer (as I am) - can't cope with the thought that it can all happen so quickly!!

Sal and Denny - belated good luck, hope the CS's happen on time and are good experiences for you

Scorpio and PFJ and anyone else wanting their bubs out NOW - fingers crossed for you. I now have 2 and a half weeks ish to go and am quite happy (she says now) for the lo to stay in til then. Really don't feel ready yet, but not actually sure I ever will!!

christmaspixie · 03/04/2008 09:40

Congrats Rainbowdays!! Brilliant news! Can't believe it happened so fast! Was that a planned homebirth then or by accident? Good luck today Sal and Denny.
I can hardly walk today, I seem to have pulled all the ligamnets under my bump and in my hip. Huh! I'm also turning in to a raving psycho pregnant loony. Oh the joys of the last 2 weeks.....

Peachy · 03/04/2008 09:41

Hope the CS's go well today- and you have lovely LO's to tell us qbout ASAP.

Started to lsoe some hindwaters last night, only a trickle but a start. Well, I blardy hope so anyway!

sagitta · 03/04/2008 09:46

Congratulations Rainbowdays! So quick! And good luck Sal and denny. I hope that means you are soon Peachy - you must be getting pretty fed up now!

Lovely DH has told me to subcontract out a lot of my work - expensive, but 't will be very nice to finish before my due date!

chipmonkey · 03/04/2008 10:02

Ooooh, Peachy, it sounds like you're on your way! I really hope you are!

Scampmum · 03/04/2008 10:02

Congratulations RainbowDays!! Can I ask how quick your previous labours have been?

I am really emotional at the moment and starting to get nervous, which is a bit weird! Am sure once it all kicks off (not for a while, I guess - I'm 36+6) I'll be all calm and zen about it. I think it's the logistics of DD and not having it all sorted that are stressing me out.

GOOD LUCK to everyone. VS, so sorry to hear about your worries. It would definitely be worth talking your concerns through with someone - perhaps start a thread to see if anyone on MN has had a really good birth trauma counsellor or someone you could just give a call to? Negative associations can be a really hard cycle to break but it's definitely doable! I totally understand your concerns but you seem such a strong and incredibly caring person, I have no doubts you can bond perfectly with your LO however it comes out.

I have got a weird tummy today. I did have beef rendang last night, though, super-hot, so perhaps it's just that .

Denny and Sal, hope all going well, can't wait to hear about your LOs and see pics!

Mollyfloss · 03/04/2008 10:11

Congrats Rainbowdays! the ambulance was too late! OMG, so you and DH delivered the baby yourselves then. How was that? Well, tell us when you have more time. Fab news! Congratulations!!!!

PortAndLemon · 03/04/2008 10:31

Nuge congratulations, rainbowdays! Wow, and an hour and forty minutes

jaq39 · 03/04/2008 10:32

congratulations rainbowdays!

ThePFJ · 03/04/2008 10:43

Thank you for the music chipmonkey. I have added it to my favourites. Hugs back for you BR.

CONGRATS Rainbowdays. I was wondering where you had got to sweetie. Well done.

I also want to mention how crap and annoying maternity pads are. It's been so long since I used a 'pad'. The damn things seem to be just cotton wool 'bits' wrapped in a very thin gauze. My trousers get so full of bobbly bits its obscene. Time to shell out for more expensive pads I think.

VictorianSqualor · 03/04/2008 11:02

Congrats Raibowdays!

TLSM, I didn't hold DD for about a week because she was in SCBU, I didn't even know she was coming!
I went under the GA for an exploratory op and came round being told I had a baby
When I did finally hold her it was really strange and like you say I felt responsible, but not 'in love', when I held DS it was totally different, I was besotted by him straight away, even now when I go in to kiss them good night I could watch him sleep for hours, he seems so perfect, but with DD I don't get that feeling

I'm hoping it will be like it was with DS this time round, the people I saw yesterday said my CS with DS was a hash up, but I pretty much knew that anyway! He was taken away from me and off down to the ward whilst they stitched me up and when I got to the ward some nurse was trying to give him a bottle, the nurses yesterday said there was no way this one will be leaving my side unless it was to go to SCBU and DP can go too, also said I can have immediate skin-to-skin and they will lower the screen so DP can sex the baby. He's allowed to stay in the observation ward too whereas in my other hospital I was left alone for pretty much 24 hours with no visitors.

I think I'm going to make a fuss about the way I was treated last time when I feel a bit stronger though, DP is getting more and more pissed off with the way I was sheperded around and given no choice, I suppose working at a newspaper makes you aware just how many people go through shit with hospitals, apparently the reporters are always talking about it and too many docs are able to get away with it.

This time round at least I feel a part of me medical team, I feel like my opinions and decisions are important and that's not how it was last time so I've gained that bit of control, it's just the loss of control on the table I have to deal with now.

goodcatholicgirl · 03/04/2008 11:02

birth announcement

Hi all you April ladies....it's GCG here, a good friend of Denny185, she asked me to come on your thread and let you know her news.....

Aeryn Daisy born at 06:50 this morning (3rd April.....also my birthday ) weighing in at 9lbs 8oz.

She was meant to be first on the list for her section at 9am, so I'm not sure if the fact she had her so early means that she went into labour earlier??? Can't imagine them doing an elective at 06:50!!!! In fact, I can't imagine Denny would have even been up at that time if she didn't have to be!!!

Anyway, I'm sure she will be in touch when she is home. Can someone more computer literate than me add it to the list of births please??

Thanks....

Will try not to bother you all again!

GCG xxx
