has anyone else started to get a metal taste in their mouth?

Gosh what a lot of posts already and I thought I was catching up!!!

I forgot that the other 'cheery' news from my appointment this morning was that the baby is now 4/5 relation to brim, so not engaged any more, when two weeks ago it was 2/5. Ah well.

Good luck for your cs tomorrow sal22. We had to go in for the CS last time at 8.30am and ended up waiting until 3.15pm before DS1 was born (all those naughty emergency C-sections!) I was soooo hungry especially as I had burnt my 'last supper' due to having a 'pregnancy brain'. Definately relax as much as you can before hand and take every pain killer they offer you afterwards!

EllieG · 02/04/2008 16:25

Afternoon all - guess what - DSD won her talent show! (There were six winners not just her)

She is very chuffed and did every so well, bless her. We've just been out for cake to celebrate - any excuse!

VS - (((((hugs))))) to you. I hope things kick off for you before wed. Try to stay calm if possible lady x

Aprilfoolsbaby - I call 'em Branston hicks too

Sal22 · 02/04/2008 16:27

ewwww.... uhm, that's something i haven't even thought about! thanks moominsmummy, will start looking for that too - sounds like such an important and practical tip!

I think I'm starting to panic a bit now - maybe I should go out and have a relaxing stroll (or shuffle more like).

In case anyone else is interested - I've called Neals Yard, who said that I can take one pill now, and then one pill twice per day after as often as needed (that's for the 200cc).

Sal22 · 02/04/2008 16:33

My mind's gone - I "forgot" to read the last page before replying.

Thanks Carey & Lorisparkle. Oh, I hope I don't have to wait until 3, don't know if I can take the stress anymore (such a drama queen, I know). Of course emergencies are more important - but hope everyone have nice and easy normal births tomorrow

Baby's decided to make up for months of being well behaved and I think I might now have bruised ribs...

EllieG · 02/04/2008 16:39

Mine seems to permanently wedge herself in one side now - I was trying to budge her little bottom over last night and DP told me off cos he said it was mean to move her when she was comfy. Not comfy for me though!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 02/04/2008 17:33

Good luck for tomorrow Sal!!!

christmaspixie · 02/04/2008 17:57

Good luck tomorrow Sal, and for you VS. Hopefully, like others have said, even if you have to have the CS maybe this time will be different - as you know what to look out for? Natural Labour vibes coming y0ur way though......

I've been a hormonal wreck today, keep sobbing for no reason. Urgh. Hate feeling like this.

chipmonkey · 02/04/2008 17:57

VS, I had no idea you'd been through so much with your dd But did you feel the CS itself interfered with bf, therefore interfering with bonding? Because it doesn't have to be that way. I had no trouble bf at all after any of my CS's. Also, my second CS wasn't half as sore as my first, I was up and about so much quicker! I bonded much better with ds2 than with ds1, maybe because I didn't feel so out of it!
I still think you should do anything you can for a VBAC but in the event that you do have to have another CS, it doesn't have to be a terrible experience.

Peachy · 02/04/2008 18:21

To remove babies stuck in awkward positions (eg under ribs): raise arms high as they can go, then slam them down quickly to your sides, repeat as necessary- works a treat!

DS3's last day at his childminders today , she and I were both sobbing LOL (he's been there 3 years and she is amazing). She was desperate to see this baby before he went, but I shall still bump into her ats chool and probably will book him in with her when I get a job. That'll be for Dh to sort though- the one at uni gets the childcare hassles LOL.

DH is geting really agitated now about waiting for baby, hardly my fault! He's staying off tonight though as he's still abit shaky and I'm still very swollen up.

VictorianSqualor · 02/04/2008 18:45

Thankfully I ahd no issues with the rbeastfeeding with DS, I think that's why I felt happier about it with him, I have spoken to the docs and everyone today who were all lovely and eased my mind a bit, I've got skin-to-skin and dp sexing the baby etc sorted, plus I know now that I won't be alone at any point, so seems much better than my previous EL CS.

Still, I have black cohosh and evening primrose too just incase it will help to get me going!

Sorry for being a whinge

bunyanvillas · 02/04/2008 19:31

VS no need to apologise, you have been through a lot and it's good to talk as the saying goes! Glad you've had a positive day with good chats to people. I'm 37.5 and have been having bad crampy pains since I got up this morning but at random intervals. Some of them have rather taken my breath away! Braxton hicks, do we think? Or a warm up or pre-labour - what do people think? dd was born at 36.5 weeks and I had similar for 24 hours beforehand. Speculating wildly here, practising breathing techniques and sitting on dd's space hopper!!

Mollyfloss · 02/04/2008 19:48

Thanks Aussie for the spreadsheet! It will be very useful.

Thanks Elfsmummy, I have to admit I'm quite proud of my little baby's room if only because I have NEVER taken the time to do up a room before. I suppose because we were given so much stuff (clothes from my niece, car seat, buggy, moses basket & more...) I let myself go a bit wild on the room!

Scorpio: You are the most sexually active pregnant woman I've ever heard of. Good for you! I was thinking about it and I reckon if you have loads of sex while pg it is probably as good as perineal massage, no?

VS: Glad to hear you're feeling a little better. I had no idea before my NCT classes how much birth experiences can affect women afterwards with bonding etc and also is one of the biggest causes of PND. We were told the best thing to prevent this is to talk about your experience so whatever happens you know we will be all hear ready to listen and make you feel better, but that said I'm hoping we won't need to cheer you up!

I saw another tiny two week old baby today. They are so adorable but at the same time I sometimes wish they were bigger as they look so fragile. Does anyone else ever think this?

aprilfoolsbaby · 02/04/2008 20:01

at Branston Hicks! I just can't get the pickle out of my head

Denny185 · 02/04/2008 21:06
