VS - I am sorry you have to go though all this worry and I pray that your LO will come naturally and easily for you. {{{{HUGS}}}}

TLSM · 02/04/2008 13:06

Oh VS i didnt relise the problems you had had in the passed I do hope all goes well this time. i had a natural both with my DS and had the same bonding problems (no where near to the extent you have had) but i know how scary it is thinking that that could happen again - I really would try and not put it all on having a CS i know its hard and we always try and put blame for things on reasons and situations but the fact that you were able to push the feeling aside with DS should give you hope you did it once and you can do it again xx Also have you tired the Evening primrose its meant to soft everything and get things moving

lorisparkle · 02/04/2008 13:13

Oh VS so sorry to hear how much worry you are going through. Puts my little concerns into perspective. My due date is Friday and we are also hoping for a VBAC (although I have only had 1 CS) The registra did not seem as anti induction as they seem to be with you but I am very concerned about the risks of scar rupturing. The hospital say I can go a week past due date and have booked me in to talk through options again. I'm a little less anti CS than you because although breastfeeding was so hard and I did feel quite traumatised after the birth (caused by a rather horrible midwife) I feel I would be better prepared this time. Does make me worry about a third though as I am quite keen on three children and I know things get more tricky with CS / VBAC etc. No one but you can understand what you are going through though so fingers crossed those contractions will come on nice and soon and the VBAC will go smoothly.

Haven't had time to read back through any other messages - so sorry. The other cheery thing I was told at hospital today was that my stomach muscles have 'gone' so lots of physio exercises after the birth. I thought DS1 was trouble with being breech but this one seems just as much trouble!

Congratulations to everyone who has had their new LO and lets hope that some more babies arrive on time!

jenniejennie · 02/04/2008 13:16

VS I think you are right that you need to talk it through with DP then you can make a decision together. It does seem very early to have arranged a CS, especially if it is causing you this much worry. Big Hugs.

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 13:21

Should i stil lgo to fatty yoga tonight do you think? DH seems to think not.

aprilfoolsbaby · 02/04/2008 13:24

Thanks for all the 'welcomes' girls - you've all been very kind.

Is this thread always so fast moving - you lot can gas for Britain!

I've just spent the morning shopping. There's no point waiting in for this baby to arrive, it's driving me crazy. I've had no Branston Hicks, no shows and only minor period type cramps, I think I'll be requiring the whole hog to get this little tyke out!

BabyBratt · 02/04/2008 13:33

Scorpio sex and yoga you are seriously amazing. Why don't you use your sex as exercise and relaxation and give yoga a miss.

I've just ordered my tens machine Im still 3 weeks away!!!! even though they may induce me early because of the old blood pressure.

What is the spreadsheet that people are talking about?

VS I know this may sound weird but I think you are amazing. You have been through so much and you are still having children some people would not have bothered. My mum had a natural birth with me but it was very hard and she blamed me. All my life I was the mistake etc she was much closer to my brother and she was very open about it. However it took a long time but now mum and I have a close relationship and I would not be without her.

sagitta · 02/04/2008 13:33

I'd go if you feel like it, Scorpio. Where's the harm?

AFB - yes. it seems to be quite a chatty thread.

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 13:35

i just wondered if it would make me more tired or start off the pain again?

Yes, we are very chatty and have a new thread nearly every week!

BabyBratt · 02/04/2008 13:37

Aprilfool, I never keep up with this thread. Im about to sit and watch another bad film on TV and wondering what to make for tea. I might even bake!

northeastmummy · 02/04/2008 13:40

VS - maybe when you're discussing things with your consultant they'll be more understanding if they know how important this VBAC is to you? Surely if they let you go a bit over your due date that will give you a better chance? Or was there another complication that meant you needed your section early - something to do with your placenta? Or was that someone else?

I so want to be able to give you some wonderful nuggets that will make you feel better but you know your situation so much better than me . I worry I might insult you.

VictorianSqualor · 02/04/2008 13:43

It was the placental issue NEM, yes.
They wanted to CS at 38weeks so I've already pushed it 2 weeks further.

I think I'll just wait and see on the day how I feel, just cos I'm there doesnt mean I have to agree to go down to theatre!

Babybratt, you're so right, I am amazing

Sal22 · 02/04/2008 13:44

Good "morning" - couldn't sleep at all last night and decided to take advantage of one last lie-in... Then had to finish some work that I had to e-mail in, but now I'm officially done. Yay!

Sorry to hear no babies overnight - think we've all got a stubborn lot coming!

Oh, and jenniejennie, luckily my grandmother was wrong on this occasion - no baby here yet, hahaha. She is really impressive though, she's still ruling everyone around her (hehe, much easier being a couple of thousand kilometres apart, although I love her to bits!) It's so funny, when she visits my parents (other side of country to where she lives), she always says that she can't stay too long, because the "old people" back home need her, PMSL.

VS, so sorry to hear about your past experience. Good luck, thinking of you. xxx
Did you go to your appointment with the aneasth. in the end? My situation completely different, so I've got no idea what'll suit you better, but for what it's worth, I had to meet mine on Monday. I didn't see the point, they've already said I HAD to have cs because of previous accident and some medical stuff that wouldn't change, but I have to admit I felt better afterwards. She was just lovely and so much more caring than the doctor (not his fault, and he's supposed to be brilliant, but was nice to know it's not all just, oh, i don't know, so mechanical).
Good luck, I hope it all works out perfectly for you.

I'll stop now, this rambling must end.... Soon. Now.

northeastmummy · 02/04/2008 13:53

Well VS, the good thing I can see is that you know how to overcome any bonding issues because you've done it with DS. Maybe that's what you could focus on?

jenniejennie · 02/04/2008 14:01

Sal im glad your grandma was wrong on this occasion, she sounds like a legend!

Scorpio - forget the yoga, your DH sounds like much more fun!

AussieDivaOnABreak · 02/04/2008 14:17

Oh Scorpio, I wish! My DH isn't in the least bit interested in having sex while I'm pregnant, he's too scared he'll hurt me or the baby. So I feel really up for it most of the time with no action in sight.

VS, I really feel for you and wish you all the best in making your decision. xx

I'm going to do this trip on Friday, MW thinks it's probably fine and as long as I know the nearest hospital and have my notes, then at least if baby decides to come then I won't be too stranded.

I've also managed to bag a date for a sweep from my MW on the 17th, the day after my EDD. Yippee!

AussieDivaOnABreak · 02/04/2008 14:20

By the way AFD I only joined MN in March and it took me two weeks to find my way into this thread, it moves so fast! I just thought that was normal but we all evidently have waaaay too much time on our hands. For now at least.

Carey87 · 02/04/2008 15:22

aprilfools - Branston Hicks!!!! LOL!! made me giggle. Me thinks you mean Braxton Hicks!

Nanny and grandpa came around to put baby's border on walls, it all looks so lovely, and Ive just finished putting the pram together. Has anyone bought a mosses basket from mothercare b4? Mine doesnt seem to sit flat, the bottom of it isnt flat iyswim?

Hello ladies,
My word this thread chats!
Was just trying to catch up on any april fool babies! None reported as yet I see! Though for a while that we might have one as had a few hours of pains the night before - all settled though when DH and my sister stopped playing on the Wii. I think it was the sight of them pretending to box each other that was setting me off!

Saw midwife today. Am 39 + 1 and she's booked to come round to do a sweep when I'm 40 + 6. Mind you baby was still completely free this morning and if it doesn't engage they won't do a sweep! Had the same with DD who still wasn't engaged the morning of my induction.

VS Your story puts all your concerns into sharp prospective. I really hope your outcome is everything you're hoping for. If its any consolation about a closed cervix, when I went in to be induced with DD I was told I had a "closed and very unfavourable cervix" and that, along with the fact that she wasn't even engaged, led them to predict a 72 hour induction! She proved them wrong and was in the world within 7 hours! So situations down there can change fast! I'll keep everything crossed for you.

Anyway this is turning into an essay and DD who is suppost to be having 10 minutes of "beebies" is now onto her second program! Must go and chase her out into the garden or something!

elfsmummy · 02/04/2008 15:29

Mollyfloss been meaning to say for a few days that your LOs room is beautiful - I didn't think people had nurseries like that in real life - just in brochures! You must be so pleased with it!

Sal22 · 02/04/2008 15:31

Quick question - I now know I'm supposed to start taking arnica pills after the birth, but exactly when, how often etc? I've got the 200cc if that makes any difference. Thanks very much.

Carey87 · 02/04/2008 15:33

Sal - I heard it was ok to start taking them a few days before due date (if your have a cs or if your overdue) ?

OP posts:
Sal22 · 02/04/2008 15:41

ah, thanks carey. ok, i'll start now then (cs tomorrow morning at 11). how often should i take them? sorry, such stupid questions - i thought there'll be a note or something with the pills (bought from neals yard), but no, nothing.

moominsmummy · 02/04/2008 15:53

as well as arnica tablets - i start taking lose dose of lactulose - cannot face the thought of "tricky poos" (DSs phrase) shortly after birth and stitches

Carey87 · 02/04/2008 15:54

apparently, they really do speed up recovery, i would ring your midwife first though just to double check. I dont know how strong they are so wouldnt have a clue how many to take, sorry Im really not much help
